  1. Isn't the biggest step the one where he has to admit he has a problem with alcohol, if of course he does , as until then he can't be helped successfully. I know 2 People who both worked for big companies one of whom is now unfortunately dead , both had drink problems one admitted at a disciplinary for poor attendance that he had a problem and the company assisted him in every way possible 20 years down the line he still works for them with a company car final salary pension etc and more importantly is still off the booze and when I speak to him he always says if it wasn't for the ongoing support from the company he'd probably be dead. The guy who sadly died worked for a different company and had the same support available to him he wouldn't admit his problem ended up getting sacked and lost everything. Pride isn't always what it's cracked up to be
  2. Seem to remember Lucifer Sam posting sometime ago that the media in and around Scunthorpe were always up for posting news about one of the towns celebrities. Like I said in your thread about ice speedway on Saturday,John, which you deleted after I replied that the 2015 season was being discussed in a topic handily titled 2015 ice speedway gladiators If you keep putting the bullets in other posters guns they will fire them back
  3. SuperTed Derek Harrison what a bloody entertaining racer he was.
  4. And people wonder why youngsters drop out of the sport, doubt if there's anything as good as a slagging off on a forum to boost your confidence
  5. George Hunter could he be the Ladybank Express MK2 if so Rye House are very lucky. Make sure he has a spin when the Monarchs come to town
  6. I'm in the pub again but this time we re watching the ice speedway. Great way to end a hard week at work .
  7. Maybe as The Fish has a pretty much proven record of hitting the required average each season and also seems to do his best to fulfil his British commitments the BSPA have rightly argued IMO that he is a non Eu rider worthy of a visa. Not forgetting of course that he's a bums on seats racer.
  8. I'm on the phone in the pub on the way to football and can't get it to translate. What's the gist of the story please
  9. That's what I was trying to say but if promotors continue to sign riders who don't cut the mustard then it's there own fat. Also maybe a promotor could argue the case for a non eu rider of equal experience but greater potential than that of an under performing EU rider
  10. Dilger(who to my knowledge I haven't seen ride/race so cannot judge on ability or entertainment value) Isn't the problem it's teams signing EU riders who aren't good enough.Though many more young British riders could follow the example set by Kyle Newman by taking up opportunities to ride here there and everywhere, and now he's reaping the rewards. In this country we have too many young lads happy to be a NL makeweight or PL reserve and until that changes we ain't going to change much.
  11. Dudek is banned and until that ban ends he doesn't have/need a number. Got a sneaking suspicion Dirty Nicki could be #1 in 2016
  12. Because we're British and used to the worst case scenario always coming out on top
  13. From what I've read on this forum over the years mostly by fans of other teams I thought the only rider with a Rolling average was Craig Cook
  14. Lewis has natural talent in abundance in reality what he needs is what he was getting at AE under Jon Cooke a bit of TLC but not in the way they gave it to him, he really needs someone to take him under their wing and guide him, obviously he needs to "sign up for it" to make it happen. As for MH i couldnt possibly say what i think about him and his brother on a forum
  15. In the old days he could've used the track spare
  16. But he wasn't a rider when he went on these holidays he had retired/taken a break from the sport. Maybe the break made him realise he wanted to ride again.
  17. Had more farewells than Frank Sinatra and Status Quo combined.Though if he's up for it, and happy he'll be a very decent signing.
  18. But in GB, no doubt there's a ruling that a guest rider can be banned instead of the alleged guilty rider. Maybe that's why there's so many names on the asset lists
  19. Fair to say he dragged the sport into a more professional approach. But with todays no moving/kidology at the tapes a Mauger part of his game plan would be lost.
  20. Didn't Tomas Topinka have 3 in around 18 months approx the difference was noticeable in his performances where he went from potential WC to a EL/PL standard rider though still bloody excellent on his day though they didn't come around as often as before. Remember David Tapp saying when he was riding in his Australian series how good and exciting he was. I would agree any rider who suffers a concussion needs clearance by a specialist before they can race again in any league in any country also including World Championship events.
  21. Windy Miller only lives just down the road at Camberwick Green and could be available to guest weather permitting
