  1. Some mates and myself went on an Olle Nygren school at Kings Lynn too. I was given a pair of well beaten Green leathers with my body shape I looked like a slow moving Granny Smith on the video footage. But we had a helluva laugh.
  2. TBH I don't know who posted earlier in the thread and can't be bothered to look.Let he or she who has never gone to work worrying/thinking about problems etc in their personal life cast the 1st stone. I've done it and I bet there would be a bloody long line of others queued up behind me.
  3. A couple of matches it said in a previous link to the local paper re BP in and DW out.Regarding DW his personal problems are none of ours business.
  4. But everyone is still waiting for the BV track to be ready.
  5. I remember, though it wasn't in a GO race Steve Johnson at Oxford being handicapped 15M for tape touching, then being handicapped a further 10M for moving at the start in the rerun. Surely that shouldve been adjudged a 2nd starting offence so an exclusion, but Johnno went out and won the race and the stadium erupted with cheering and applause.
  6. I seriously doubt it. Travel within London definitely A few mates and myself travel up by train from Oxford to watch Oxford at various away games on the outskirts of London and it generally works out just over £19 each if we bought TFL tickets on arrival at Paddington it would probably be nearer £30 each Forgot to mention we go to watch Football not speedway Though we live in hope we can watch the Cheetahs(other inferior teams are available) Sooner rather than later
  7. If you have a travelcard/oystercard for your time in London I think it will cover your journey to and from Rye House. I'm sure any London based forum members will know for definite.
  8. So as I see it not only do the BSPA have daft rules that nobody can make head or tail of. They've now spread to EuropeI blame David Cameron
  9. He may well have. Remember reading a winter series about his life in the Speedway Star. He certainly had his fingers in lots of pies
  10. Admittedly he wasn't a rider but photographer Mike Patrick had a record shop up the road from his house in Headington.
  11. Maybe he should be known as VooDooBoyJoking aside a speedy recovery to him
  12. Should be the result after 20 heats then,if your finishing position gives you no advantage in choice of gate position
  13. TBH Lambert may go on to have a truly great career. The public remember winners not runners up.
  14. About 11am There's normally a programme fair in the rugby club next door too though they sell lots of other memorabilia too as I understand it. Or go to one of the many pubs like loads of us and meet up with old acquaintances and meet some new ones. We're a friendly bunch though at times you might think you're in the bar in star wars.
  15. But surely if it's stipulated on applying for a licence that a condition of the licence being issued is that you take part in the national championship. Illness/injury permitting though if they are your reasons for missing you get a 7 meeting ban as opposed to a week.
  16. And they have the legendary back straight toilets, people back in America will think you've been to North Korea if you show them some photos
  17. There is a full page advert in today's Oxford Mail sponsored by the Isle of Wight Warriors where there squad are all pictured wearing Save Oxford Stadium race jackets(I know they only had one)with comments from the riders. Kelsey mentions his families involvement at Oxford in his piece
  18. If it can be restraint of trade then the countries version of the ACU as it is in our case specify that you must take part in the national championship. If you decide to pull a sickie or feign injury you get a weeks ban from the date of each roundProblem solved Simplistic but it could work
  19. He deserves to get excluded even though his view was obscured as soon as he saw a slow/rider coasting he shouldve slowed down or laid it down to avoid him.Years ago I remember reading about the much maligned Len Silver running training schools and that he wouldn't let you out on track racing until you could lay the bike down. I think they used to throw a large stuffed doll onto the track. I have seen far lesser riders over the years be able to drop the bike on a sixpence.
  20. We're going for Paul Thorp at Oxford territory many years ago.Rob can no doubt give chapter and verse about the incident. Put his hand up to warn the other riders he had lost power. But then got the bike going and rejoined the race even though his actions had affected the other riders. Too say the late great Bernard Crapper blew his top would be the understatement of the century.Dudek raises his hand essentially withdraws from the race. How can anyone prove he was under power when PK hit him as he was just coasting along. PK should be excluded as he hit Dudek And Dudek out as not under power
  21. The easiest thing is DMU to say you to MJJ or any other rider(like the SCB/BSPA/ACU)should with TW if you don't ride in the qualifiers or final if seeded of your National Championship we will cancel your licence.
  22. RooBoy could still be a guest for either team, hopefully for international commitments or illness as opposed to injury.
  23. If you stay in Bristol their supporters club are running a coach to Cardiff for the GP with various pickups around the city. If you stay in Bristol maybe someone from that neck of the woods is also arranging a trip to Somerset or share a car etc. At Somerset I can highly recommend the grass banking at the exit of the 2nd bend, where cider in hand it's a cracking view.If your tall or like to wear a TopHat please stand behind me. Take a jacket to Somerset even if it's the hottest day of the year as when the sunsets it's up there with Peterborough and Swindon as being a bit nippy. TBH I've been to ice speedway where it's warmer. If your free on the Thursday if Swindon have a meeting maybe pop along there. If Kings Lynn are the opposition or RooBoy is guesting for one of the teams definitely go. He's the dogs testicles round there.
  24. Maybe the return of Martin Mudguard
