I take it back Rob you weren't superduper just mediocre
We had a cracking Conference team
Hopefully this forthcoming season the boys in the third tier will continue to deliver a feast of entertainment.
How good was Moose around Oxford many a time I think he went through smaller gaps than Rambo and that's saying something
RobDidn't you manage us for a match ? I can't remember if we won or lost but if we won then you're a superduper manager
Seem to remember Bryn having a chance of holding "The Holy Grail" of British speedway too
With all due respect Nathan Greaves may have burst onto the scene in a small way but he hasn't significantly improved since then.
You may as well sign an unknown and hope he comes good
The reason why my mates and myself make a point on our annual trip to the Pairs. To let hotel owners and pub landlords etc that we're there for the speedway. Hopefully they remember that and would support the club in minor planning permissions as they realise it brings money into the area.
I thought the footprint (if that's the correct terminology) overlapped the footprint of the existing stadium
But not the legendary back straight toilet facilities which are now approaching world heritage site status
How do you know Munster Joe and Greg Hancock didn't have a conversation in the pits ?
Unless of course you were there to witness them not speaking
Or is it just hearsay.
For my tuppence worth GH pulling out of the meeting affected the top 8 as some riders rode against reserves instead of him
Don't find either of them attractivePrefer the ladies myself
I'm no fan of Dickie the Gater but I reckon he's got far more improvement in him than Batchelor, Who looks a distant shadow of the rider he was. I think the DW accident and his subsequent MX crash in Australia have really affected him.
We were sat in front of the bar/refs box and the fence rippled a bit.
What a shame Newport are no more while most of the facilities were very basic it was a bloody good racetrack.
Just think what might very happened if Phil Morris had taken it over
I was reading an approx 6 week old issue of the Speedway Star at work today.
I can't remember the guys name but he's commercial manager or similar at Sale rugby and had an article about him in the Star last year.
The article this year was about him saying it was wrong for Poole to bring Antonio Lindback in for the playoffs.
Right at the end it was mentioned that in his interview last season he'd said if any Speedway promotions wanted his advice in helping to increase attendances if he could help he would. 2 teams approached him the IOW was one but the other the other team wasn't mentioned.
