  1. I had the common headache, flu like symptoms for a day or two after having the jab. I suffer from asthma which gives me a hoarse cough, highly likely due to a combination of the jab, the start of the hayfever season for me and a bit of a sniffly cold my cough got a lot worst. As soon as i spoke to the Dr i was advised to isolate and get a test, even though he agreed it was highly likely it wasn't Covid-19. But a cough is a symptom so it's safety first and i don't think anyone would disagree that it's best to play safe
  2. I've only just downloaded the NHS Track and trace App, having had my 1st jab and the having to isolate a few days afterwards. I hadn't downloaded it earlier as i suspected they would send messages out to isolate even if you hadn't been in contact with a carrier, just to try and suppress the spread. It's surely not beyond the App designers to be able to include in your App the relevant information re vaccination dates, drug and batches. Then when you scan the QR code to access a pub, shop, theatre, stadium this would be your Passport, Either that or someone at the entrance scans a QR code unique to you which is on your App which proves you've been vaccinated. Obviously for those without a smartphone another method would have to be utilised
  3. Newcastle have spotted a potential future problem and solved it, they may well now be weaker as a team, but it also gives CV who lets be honest has been a good servant to the sport in Britain a chance to either find another club, or base his season around riding within the EU which will no doubt make travel prospects a lot easier, ,Fairplay to the Redcar management for sticking with their team, over my years watching the sport one of the biggest gripes is too many team changes year on year
  4. If i was you i would contact my local surgery and ask for a replacement card, just explain that as you may need some form of proof of vaccination, at some point between now and when BoJo and his chums finds a company they can spunk money on to provide one that probably won't work. As yours has had the name altered its very open to accusations of being a terrible forgery
  5. I'd say thats a very good point, if there's a greyhound meeting then surely public areas will need a pretty good clean between closure of that meeting and turnstiles opening for the speedway So best hope for no pawses during the greyhound meeting
  6. Thanks, just had a look on trainline, just over half an hour journey, If Liverpool St or any other stations enroute were close to home you'd be daft to drive
  7. Apologies for going off topic, but which London station does the line at Rye House go too, since Oxford closed, and a few of us went to the Launchpad for our fix we always sore a good few fans waiting for the train as we walked back to where we had parked. Even though its a long way out i bet it was cheaper and probably less stressful to use public transport from certain areas of London
  8. You're a wiseman to know when to cal it quits,
  9. The problem is you're obviously far more conscientious than the vast majority, fairplay to you for being so. I'm 58 and passed my test just before my 18th birthday, i hate to think of the bad habits i''ve picked up over the years. As i've got older i dislike driving at night, in heavy rain or fog more each time it happens.
  10. Could some of the problems with the new delivery service be confusing street numbering and SatNav error. I know for example if you used my postcode in a SatNav it takes you to a neighbouring close. Also some streets have very confusing numbering, my job involves visiting customers and town planners are fairly high on my hitlist for having their heads banged on a wall when i'm running the country. As i say to my customers who tell me everyone has a problem finding them, usually because the house number or name isn't visible until you stand next to it, the fire brigade will find you easy enough !
  11. Which proves that the sport should be run by an independent authority
  12. PZM will notify the FIM of their decision by midday on the 16th
  13. IMO the idea smacks of a quickly drawn up back of a fag packet plan to make up for the balls-up of telling the NL how to run their businesses
  14. I was totally unaware of those unique circumstances
  15. Sure i read somewhere on this forum that he may be involved with the Eurosport coverage so would be unavailable for a teamplace in the top league
  16. I daresay a meeting on the friday would give the track too much of a pounding with little time to get it back to its best for the GP
  17. My post is a generalisaton, for example i don't know off the top of my head how many young British riders have taken a break from the sport at the drop of a hat in the last 5 seasons. I do know however that its far too many, so what are the reasons Money or lack of it Too much pressure and/or fear of failure Fear due to having a few big getoffs so now worried about another painful injury The UK policy on non competitive sports etc as you don't want to upset children who lose the egg and spoon race, who then get totally confused by seeing their parents doing the same race like their lives depended on it, 30 minutes later that day Professional junior, nice signwritten van and a bit of eyecandy on the arm Drugs/Alcohol For what its worth to encourage young British riders i think there should be a ruling, foreign rider comes in on say an assessed 4 point average, his teambuilding average should never drop below that figure, but his GSA should be what his riding position is based on.
  18. I read last week that Garry May said that Somerset were interested in running the meeting if allowed. The management will probably decide on Scunthorpe due to its close proximity to Cardiff
  19. It's actually Ellis Edam the big cheese in Dutch speedway who's signed
  20. I hope he does very well as he certainly has the talent, my point though about him was meant more as a generalisation that riders who constantly need a break etc are always a gamble as they can leave the team in the lurch, Though plenty of teams are far to quick to drop an under performing rider
  21. Did Justin Elkins complete a meeting without an EF ?
  22. Never trust a talent however good they are if they are stuck in the mindset of retirement/break/comeback from the sport as they'll always let you down
  23. To be fair to him, discounting 2020 he hasn't ridden a lot in the preceding few seasons due to injury, so maybe rightly or wrongly this was taken into account for Rising Star status.
