2021 GP Series Dates
Triple.H. replied to therefused's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
PZM will notify the FIM of their decision by midday on the 16th -
IMO the idea smacks of a quickly drawn up back of a fag packet plan to make up for the balls-up of telling the NL how to run their businesses

Birmingham Brummies 2020
Triple.H. replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I was totally unaware of those unique circumstances -
Sure i read somewhere on this forum that he may be involved with the Eurosport coverage so would be unavailable for a teamplace in the top league
-
I daresay a meeting on the friday would give the track too much of a pounding with little time to get it back to its best for the GP

My post is a generalisaton, for example i don't know off the top of my head how many young British riders have taken a break from the sport at the drop of a hat in the last 5 seasons. I do know however that its far too many, so what are the reasons Money or lack of it Too much pressure and/or fear of failure Fear due to having a few big getoffs so now worried about another painful injury The UK policy on non competitive sports etc as you don't want to upset children who lose the egg and spoon race, who then get totally confused by seeing their parents doing the same race like their lives depended on it, 30 minutes later that day Professional junior, nice signwritten van and a bit of eyecandy on the arm Drugs/Alcohol For what its worth to encourage young British riders i think there should be a ruling, foreign rider comes in on say an assessed 4 point average, his teambuilding average should never drop below that figure, but his GSA should be what his riding position is based on.

I read last week that Garry May said that Somerset were interested in running the meeting if allowed. The management will probably decide on Scunthorpe due to its close proximity to Cardiff
-
It's actually Ellis Edam the big cheese in Dutch speedway who's signed
-
I hope he does very well as he certainly has the talent, my point though about him was meant more as a generalisation that riders who constantly need a break etc are always a gamble as they can leave the team in the lurch, Though plenty of teams are far to quick to drop an under performing rider
-
Did Justin Elkins complete a meeting without an EF ?
-
Never trust a talent however good they are if they are stuck in the mindset of retirement/break/comeback from the sport as they'll always let you down
-
To be fair to him, discounting 2020 he hasn't ridden a lot in the preceding few seasons due to injury, so maybe rightly or wrongly this was taken into account for Rising Star status.

I reckon your full name is Bob Costa Mesa
-
Maybe you should contact Justin Tomlinson MP he is the minister for disabilities,

If the individual GP type series goes ahead i'd like the IOW and Mildenhall promotions to be asked if they would like to run a round each.
-
I'd agree, looked to me that LT was trying to leave room to race, back end went round a bit to far, due to rider error or a patchy track
-
I thought the number 7 had to be British so how can King's Lynn sign a native American

Someone should run a free training school for Deliveroo moped riders. If they ride in the rest of the country like they do in Oxford there's a fair few entertaining fence scrapers out there I daresay there could be a chance of a young rider possibly getting some Sponsorship from them. A nice photoshopped picture of a rider going full tilt around a bend photoshopped so his racesuit and bike covers had Deliveroo branding and colourscheme with a topbox on the rear mudguard. Throw in a nice snappy slogan about fast food delivered faster, the countries the rider could potentially be visible in. They can only say No but they might say yes. Even if it was only a couple of grand its better than a kick in the proverbials.

Man up, show her who wears the trousers, oh she already has them on

You would also need the patience of a Saint and an extra thick Scrum Cap as I think you'd find yourself banging your head against a wall on a daily basis.
-
James, you have hit the nail firmly on the head, IMO someone like yourself would be an ideal person to oversee the sport in this country and bring the promoters into line. Though when you did your presentation and mention your background in the sport Fan Sponsor Former Promoter and Team manager Successful businessman, and the amount of market research of supporters from all over the place that you have carried out over the years. I still think they would find some obscure reason to say you were unsuitable for the role
-
Only problem i can see is that lower level riders need to test them selves against higher opposition, so maybe 1 race per rider against the next grading up
-
The stadium is probably the best looking building in Port Talbot and its still in its box

How old is Clarke Osborne ? i remember him from the time he was trying to close Oxford, so i assume he must be in his 70s
