  1. Maybe with the current situation in Ukraine, which let's be honest seems to be getting worst each day. Poland could be in a position, though hopefully not, where non Polish riders would make themselves available for team changes in GB.
  2. Apologies, i have jumped the gun on some of your original post, i completely agree on the basis of the pedigree of certain teams and riders should produce a better meeting
  3. I'd pick a couple of bones out of this, 1st match of the season could be a better or could be a boring gate and go festival. Both teams will be ring rusty so you can't really judge form until every team has a few matches under their belts. If they put Glasgow vs Poole on as the first 2 streams it doesn't mean they're going to be meetings full of great racing, we'd all assume so because of their teams, but any 2 teams can produce a borefest. I myself succumbed and bought a season pass, before I read the email from my energy provider. Hopefully the service is good quality
  4. Their Polish Passports and Citizenship was gained by Polish Clubs to make it easier to fit into their squads and journeys in and out of Poland for those meetings easier. Which country do they represent on the International Stage It doesn't matter that you think te GP is devalued by them not being in it when unless there's some very radical changes we're on the verge of WW3. The Rest of the World are working on the theory that by preventing Russians taking part in sports and introducing financial/business constraints that the Russians will sort out the Putin problem. As for Sayfudtinov his best years of being World Champion passed him by while his manager advised him to give the GPs a miss
  5. Humphrey Appleby will be on your case. I've said more or less the same in a few posts in this topic and he's told me I'm wrong.
  6. Stop every Russian outside Russia from working, put them under house arrest for example. This then encourages the Russians most probably the Army to overthrow the dictator. It won't be pretty or nice but the last time this type of thing happened Nuclear Weapons weren't readily available. You're worried about your Russian workmate. Think of the Muslims who are automatically thought of as terrorists. Putin isn't going to fall on his sword the only way to remove him from power is by the Russians doing it. The guys a busted flush
  7. I still stand by my original post. They have Russian passports, were born in Russia and represent Russia in international competition, even though they moan they get minimal funding. Their Polish passports and citizenship is to make it easier for them to ride in Poland They're Russian and so like numerous other Russian teams and sports people they should be banned from competing unless in a domestic Russian competition.
  8. But they have 2 passports, maybe more. So they can pick and choose their nationality on a whim
  9. All 3 should be banned from riding outside Russia. The only reason they have Polish passports/citizenship is to make it far easier to ride for Polish clubs. The clincher is which national federation do they represent.
  10. I'd say the biggest thing is if TW has had some influence on signing him.
  11. Variety is the spice of life. If we all liked the same things life would be pretty boring. IMO one thing the sport can do is provide a bit of variety in some if not all the meetings. How many former regular attendees posting on this forum have said 15 heats and endless laps by a Massey Ferguson is one of the reasons they no longer attend. The sport needs to win back these supporters while also attracting new ones, 8 riders doing a few Flat Track demos may attract some who wouldn't go. At the end of the day the same old format being done every meeting isn't getting a new generation of fans through the door.
  12. We know that but the post I quoted suggested he was being paid a King's Ransom. Speedway seems to be full of people who allegedly know what everyone is and isn't being paid but they never, as my Old maths teacher would say, show their working out
  13. I think his crash at Wolverhampton knocked the stuffing out of him so he realised it's still a young man's game. I honestly think he will still race a few meetings in Australia but not State titles etc to scratch his itch. I'm definitely in the remember him on the top of his game camp as opposed to seeing him being beaten by youngsters chasing the dream. As a manager he can maybe give so much advice to the team that it has to be a good move.
  14. The science behind the development of The Dirtometer is surely worthy of a chapter or two
  15. If your'e prepared to say it's not a rumour as it came from a Championship promotion, then i'm afraid as far as i'm concerned then it remains a rumour unless you name the promotion.
  16. Oliver Holt lives in Oxford so hopefully he will be given an open invite to the Stadium for both Speedway and Greyhounds and any other events taking place so he can continue to give National publicity to a resurrected venue. Something we all hope, I'm sure in the reopening of other Stadiums such as Coventry and Rye House
  17. Maybe as he's not British and needs a Visa to work here ? Maybe he cannot change Employer in GB on a willy nilly basis.
  18. @Technik Is Caspar Henriksen the son of Anders formally of Newport ?
  19. Plus Tommy Gun is a decent racer so entertainment value too
  20. Also an Easy hotel has recently opened in Summertown, I haven't a clue about their carparking arrangements. It's also a couple of bus rides away from the stadium on busy and frequent routes. Oxford most days is pretty gridlocked. Fridays can be worst as A34 is chockablock with shed taggers during the summer
  21. Looking for sponsorship from a major car maker ?
