Belle Vue v Peterborough Panthers - Grand Final
Triple.H. replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Probably a hangover too -
I've been saying more or less the same for years GP Challenge after the last GP, under the new points system where its all about qualifying for the Semi's you have riders in the mix who won't go for that gap as they don't need to as they've already qualified for the following season.

I think what Johnny the spud means is they make it that rider and bike need to be a minimum weight, so most lightweight riders would be brought back onto a more level playing field Apologies to Mr Ellis in advance if i've grabbed the wrong end of the stick -
R.I.P. Bob C from his posts on here he was a very knowledgeable fan

Island Masters Shale Track Championship

Let's face it 15 heats interspersed with watching a tractor or two and a bowser if you're lucky ain't cutting the mustard. Maybe variety is the spice of life. I know at the Flat Track meetings I attended at Oxford there were various classes racing and had a few Speedway races too. They also had Grass bikes racing too if I remember correctly. Considering they were getting 15-20 riders off and on track for each race very little in the way of delays either Got to see Les Collins racing again too, which is always worth watching -

Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021
Triple.H. replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Went up for the called off Plymouth match earlier this year. Look for buses to Brownhills if my memory isn't playing tricks. There's a fair few that go there and a stop near the stadium both directions. As we ended up on a pub crawl in Birmingham I can't say how long the journey takes but Birmingham Bus website said approx 20 minutes. No doubt bus lanes to get through the traffic. Birmingham buses are contactless first fare is £2.10 second fare takes it to £4 which is then capped for the day -

IMO his big problem is when he was a gap chasing fence scraper, he followed his managers advice and opted out/placed less emphasis of/on the GPs. Now he's a bit older and the gaps are smaller and the fences harder, he's realised all the natural ability in the World won't keep him up with the young flyweights on rockets. -
Could be drone footage of Boris Johnsons head An overgrown area covering an unused facility

It's like the BSPL banning nomadic teams unless they're making major inroads into getting a new track. I would think keeping fans of defunct tracks interested in the sport is a good idea. When was the last time, pre Covid-19 that any team soldout the capacity of the stadium for a league or Cup match ?

Remember if you're travelling up that there are lots of roadworks around the stadium -

You missed the point, I said IF I had the money. I think its been proven that promoters don't, in the vast majority of cases listen to what their audience thinks or suggests. An attitude that has got so many clubs in trouble over the years. Constantly tweaking something that doesn't work very well in the hope it will create a big change.
-
IMO the 2 promoters with a licence is a stumbling block. As is the no vote for 3yrs at the AGM, if that rule still stands As for nationally agreed admission prices a total joke. Its your business charge what you want to attract an audience If I was in a position to spunk money on Speedway I reckon I could get a bigger crowd than the clowns calling the shots are managing at most tracks.

I'm sure I read on Facebook that Tuesdays crowd was the biggest the promotion had.
