Stadium as far as I know owned by the Council but run on a lease basis. I'm sure the local council find having a successful sports team in the town very good for the towns image, also bringing money into the local community. Matt Ford and those Pesky Pirates wether you love them or loathe them are the blueprint holders for a successful team and business. -
Premier Inns tend to be dearer in the week and cheaper friday and saturday. Obviously their Hotels near Entertainment and Sporting venues will raise prices accordingly, its the way of the world

Belle Vue v Peterborough Panthers - Grand Final

Probably a hangover too -
I've been saying more or less the same for years GP Challenge after the last GP, under the new points system where its all about qualifying for the Semi's you have riders in the mix who won't go for that gap as they don't need to as they've already qualified for the following season.

I think what Johnny the spud means is they make it that rider and bike need to be a minimum weight, so most lightweight riders would be brought back onto a more level playing field Apologies to Mr Ellis in advance if i've grabbed the wrong end of the stick -
R.I.P. Bob C from his posts on here he was a very knowledgeable fan

Let's face it 15 heats interspersed with watching a tractor or two and a bowser if you're lucky ain't cutting the mustard. Maybe variety is the spice of life. I know at the Flat Track meetings I attended at Oxford there were various classes racing and had a few Speedway races too. They also had Grass bikes racing too if I remember correctly. Considering they were getting 15-20 riders off and on track for each race very little in the way of delays either Got to see Les Collins racing again too, which is always worth watching -
I think its referrred to as the Exeter rule

Birmingham v Poole. 1st September 2021
Triple.H. replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Went up for the called off Plymouth match earlier this year. Look for buses to Brownhills if my memory isn't playing tricks. There's a fair few that go there and a stop near the stadium both directions. As we ended up on a pub crawl in Birmingham I can't say how long the journey takes but Birmingham Bus website said approx 20 minutes. No doubt bus lanes to get through the traffic. Birmingham buses are contactless first fare is £2.10 second fare takes it to £4 which is then capped for the day -

IMO his big problem is when he was a gap chasing fence scraper, he followed his managers advice and opted out/placed less emphasis of/on the GPs. Now he's a bit older and the gaps are smaller and the fences harder, he's realised all the natural ability in the World won't keep him up with the young flyweights on rockets.
