Oxford Cheetahs 2022
Triple.H. replied to CowleyCheetahs's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oliver Holt lives in Oxford so hopefully he will be given an open invite to the Stadium for both Speedway and Greyhounds and any other events taking place so he can continue to give National publicity to a resurrected venue. Something we all hope, I'm sure in the reopening of other Stadiums such as Coventry and Rye House -

Clever Clogs -
Maybe as he's not British and needs a Visa to work here ? Maybe he cannot change Employer in GB on a willy nilly basis.

Also an Easy hotel has recently opened in Summertown, I haven't a clue about their carparking arrangements. It's also a couple of bus rides away from the stadium on busy and frequent routes. Oxford most days is pretty gridlocked. Fridays can be worst as A34 is chockablock with shed taggers during the summer -
Looking for sponsorship from a major car maker ?

Its been announced its at Oxford august 12th, the night before the GP So if you want to plan ahead So a heads up for anyone wanting to book accomodation, Premier Inn Cowley a 10 minute walk from stadium Holiday Inn Express and Hampton by Hilton both by the Kasstad and 20 minute walk from stadium There are newly opened Premier Inns in the Citycentre and Botley which is just off the A34 Both on very regular bus routes which will get you to a couple of minutes walk from the stadium , you'll have to change in the Citycentre if going from Botley. From Citycentre all you need is a return ticket from Botley a daypass to cover all bus operators, currently £3.80 return or £4.30 for a day pass Theres a Travelodge on the Abingdon rd, and a Jury's hotel in Wolvercote Obviously lots of other hotels and BnB's around from very expensive to very cheap, ive just chosen big chain hotels that are normally not a rip off price to let anyone who wants to book well in advance know about

Definite future world champions - or not!

I'm pretty sure it was a Good Friday meeting at Coventry vs Poole and I witnessed a masterclass in team riding by Darcy Ward to Shepherd Dennis Andersson home -
Was it the late Jon Cook who suggested a team X points behind could choose gate positions, as in we'll go off 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 etc. I think thats worth a go, at the end of the day anything to shake up the same old familiar format must be worth a try.

Because Riders, sponsors and the all important spectators all seem to be buzzing with positivity about an evening spent at the Speedway. -
Their home form was so bad i remember a French team beating them 10 - 66

I know that but if the fixtures didn't take place then the points earned shouldn't count towards averages
-
As Eastbourne wirhdrew from the league then any rider who rode against or for them should have his average adjustef accordingly, otherwise Eastbourne should still appear in the league table. You cannot expunge the team record without also expunging any points from riders who rode either for or against them from them.

As he is the Leaseholder once his monthly lease and other bills are paid anything else goes into his profit margin I would think So entrance money plus beer and food sales and any sponsorship will hopefully make the Speedway breakeven at the very least and any profit is great. As Jamie Courtney said in his interview I heard on the Radio. Hopefully some big crowds for the first few meetings then a successful entertaining team keeps the paying public coming back. Poole are the yardstick Since Matt Ford took over they've had good entertaining teams and due to the success and footfall that brings they get decent sponsors and advertisers -

Decent shout for a reserve position, falls off a bit but that's more due to 100% effort and a bit of over enthusiasm IMO. Type of rider most fans will enjoy watching, living locally too can only be good for PR and everyone likes a local youngster in the team Personally if he fits and the promotion want to use him I'd have Connor Coles in too, another tryer and also has Oxford connections -
The last 18 months has been a strange time To go totally off topic have you seen the series Hornby if not you may find it interesting. It's on Yesterday I think
