But maybe as people are speculating about Plymouth having 8ish points to play with to strengthen. People are also best guessing and speculating about Workington. Worst case scenario for Workington and the Sport in the UK, is Workington close. If that happens if my maths is correct that would mean seven riders looking for employment. Some of whom could possibly strengthen Plymouth if fixtures etc fitted their itinerary. All speculation on my part of course

Maybe there's more to the Workington issue than all the best guessing and speculation.

I agree, but maybe Government agencies don't.

Could it be FB missing UK meetings to ride in Poland and someone has spotted or reported that he,the club or sponsor of his application are in breach of his visa regulations.

Plenty of riders in IOW events and other tracks meetings under the NORA bannerhave also rode at NDL level in fixtures at BSPL tracks with no problem..

Queen Elizabeth Stadium, though the rental costs would be high. But IMO a GP in London would sell well, fantastic transport links, plentiful hotels, if you can't afford Centralish hotels use public transport to travel out of the City. London is a big draw for supporters from around the world. Who would probably make the GP part of a longer holiday to the UK and Europe. Plan it ahead and invite Prince William, he likes motorcycles and lives locally, though I doubt we'd see him on the Jubilee line.

Sad news, I've just read on the Ice Gladiators page on Facebook that Nicolai Krasnikov has died in a car crash.

On the British Speedway site He was down to ride for Edinburgh at Middlesborough today but they are using RR instead as he is on compassionate leave, my guess is NDL fixtures have priority over NDT as the latter was a later addition for this season. -
As flares are banned in stadia in the UK, i'm not surprised. If you are found using or carrying one at a football match it generally means imprisonment or suspended sentence along with a ban from attending matches for 3yrs after. So its poor security checking people on the way in. Say instead of flares it had been a bomb, Speedway would be making headlines all over the World for the next week. If you need to take a bag you should expect to be emptying it for checks at a seperate entrance, people will then learn not to bring the bloody things. I go to a lot of gigs and the amount of people who try and get in with a rucksack like they're heading for a week in the Lake District is incredible, also at most 500 or more capacity venues you get frisked and the metal detecting wand. Some big Stadium gigs they have airport style security, everything out of pockets etc and walk through detectors. I felt like Derek Smalls from Spinal Tap when they found it was the pulltab on my fly zip setting the machine off.

Latest update copied and pasted from Facebook, Hopefully not breaking any rules etc Wightlink Warriors PR 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Wightlink Warriors plan to stage 2025 Speedway Season After careful consideration, and with the support of our fans and sponsors shown so far, it has given the management of the Wightlink Warriors more confidence to announce their intention to stage a 7 meeting season of speedway between July and September taking place at Smallbrook Stadium. The season plan is to stage 4 team speedway meetings to include the Vince Mapley Memorial, and the Steve Piper Memorial meetings, plus the popular Best Pairs as well as our British Championships to include Women, J.A.P, Upright and the 500cc. We will race on a Tuesday in 2025 allowing access to a greater number of riders as this is a quiet fixture night in the UK. In addition, we hope to stage the British GT140 providing we can find a date in their busy schedule. With the good news of the decision to plan fixtures for the short season, there are still some hurdles to overcome. Firstly, the club needs additional volunteers to enable us to man all the stations on race day. Please let us know If you think anyone would be interested to help. Some of these positions give you the best seat in the stadium to watch the action. Secondly, whilst the offers of sponsorship have been really encouraging, we would still welcome a few more to enable us to fulfil the season’s racing. Finally, getting the message out and more people through the door, We plan to use leaflets and banners this season as these have produced the best results in previous years so, if you know of an area to deliver, Campsites, Hotels etc who will allow advertising, and you can take or deliver them please get in touch. The club is looking for someone to enable us to make better use of Facebook and to help distribute the message across the many Community Facebook groups as Islanders are best placed to have the best insight. Wightlink Warriors promoter Martin Widman added, “Barry and I had a fantastic meeting this afternoon where we both undertook to deliver a season of speedway on the Isle of Wight. We have already overcome some big challenges and we feel that with the backing of our sponsors, and fans along with agreements with riders, we can provide a great season. We are delighted that we are much closer than two weeks ago to securing the season for our Club, and we are so very grateful for all the offers of support. We hope that we have planned an attractive programme of speedway events to showcase Speedway on the Island and will now start talking to riders and clubs about the season.” The management would like to thank everyone in anticipation of their support both financial and physical, which will help us achieve a short but action packed programme. -

Reassessing the average of a rider returning from a ban would be the most British speedway ruling ever. -

Maybe as his Polish League match was postponed the German authorities said you have to do practice at Abensburg, to give you a better chance of advancing to the next stage, the more Germans who do well the better it looks for the sport in Germany. Also it may have been possible for him to get to wherever the Polish match was in good time but to get to Abensburg by signing in time wasn't possible. -
My personal opinion is that GP riders shouldn't be riding in qualifiers. You either finish top 7 or qualify via the challenge.Or get a wildcard if you were unlucky through injury. Also no wildcard selection two years on the trot It might mean you don't get the 15 best riders n the World in the GP, but when has that ever happened ?
