  1. Are you a sports psychologist, or just a twonk ?
  2. Any Glasgow fans got the recipe for Hagon's humble pie ?
  3. If the meeting started at 2pm even the most inept member of the BSPL could surely manage to get the meeting done dusted by the time the curfew hits. For those who stayed over on the saturday night for the GP most would not need to stay on the sunday, for those travelling, fair enough it could be a long day. For example think of yourself and supporters of other teams up North and abroad. Berwick, Redcar, Workington, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Is it easier for those supporters to travel to Manchester and back home on the sameday, than travel to Poole.
  4. You might not like him, You might note rate him. But i doubt slagging him off will improve his performance perhaps a bit of support might.
  5. Hold it the day after the British SGP , 2pm start as in parade at 1:45 first heat 2pm, no delays as theres a queue etc. Crack on with the meeting, barring any major incident you could get it over and done with in 2hrs. Those who attended the GP and staying locally are fairly likely to watch the meeting before travelling home, daytrippers know start time and that they stand a chance of getting home at a reasonable time. If riders have Polish commitments, run without them, or run some form of the 4TT instead. You have a stadium with a fairly large number of possible spectators staying in the area and Manchester having good transport links
  6. To be fair back in the good old days Towns and Cities had one or two big industries/employers so holidays were all at the same time.
  7. Maybe teams should've run during the lovely summer instead of having such a disjointed fixture list.
  8. I heard a couple of the team members are off on Viking river cruise.
  9. So what are the pay rates for the meeting ? As in actual proof not best guess, rumours, Chinese whispers etc.
  10. Have you offered your services to the organisers ? Maybe you can help with logistics and visas etc
  11. If they didn't know till today how could they let you know yesterday ? With current weather its highly unlikely to be called off due to a waterlogged track. Pay in advance at the cheaper rate if your planning to go. If its a case you weren't making a decision on attending till today then why moan ?
  12. Funny how those wearing the blue tinted spectacles are never fully aware. Just need Shovel-it to join in the south coast self abuser singalong
  13. Well he has ridden a few meetings already over the last few months
  14. I think Poole would cope with that scenario. Hopefully it doesn't arise.
  15. TBF I'm guilty of failing to do that. Predictive text has tucked me up many a time.
  16. I'm getting all emulshional due to Glasgow's lack of redecoration.
  17. I believe you are preaching to the converted, the problem is ww need to convert the non believers. So it doesnt really matter whos ball it is every club in the country needs to do everything to promote the meeting and get people there. A live event on terrestrial TV in a fairly empty stadium will not get potential supporters flocking to the turnstiles. British Speedway needs a hard reset and everyone currently involved from top to bottom needs to get involved. If saturdays meeting is a big success with high viewing figures its a firm foundation to build on. If its a meeting full of delays because theres a queue at the entrance and played out in front of empty stands, then we may as well throw in the towel.
  18. Poole riding against the best team in the World next Wednesday doesn't really need advertising.
  19. They need to get the stadium as full as possible, maybe with forward planning if they knew this was likely to happen, sell £10 tickets a few months back to GP attendees.
  20. Park at Unipart, buy your parking ticket when you buy your entry ticket. All info available on the Website https://oxfordspeedway.club/ If you buy your ticket in advance and the meeting gets called off you can get a refund. If you buy at the box office on the night there's no refund and tickets only valid for the restaging of that particular meeting, as far as I remember.
  21. Sorry I read a post that this was the original fixture. Still think he should be riding for Poole though.
  22. But the Polish league is a slightly different situation. They get their fixtures out early and have rightly or wrongly, first call on the riders availability. How many Wednesdays does the Danish league run on and how many of those Wednesdays didn't clash with a Poole home fixture ?
  23. Yes but as he is British and his British team ride their home matches on Wednesdays, plus the fixture not being a rearranged one. The authorities should be taking action.
  24. IMO it should only be an NDL guest. A British rider missing a meeting that's been in the fixture list all season to ride in another league is a disgrace. If the CL fixture had been rearranged id have more sympathy. Why sign for a team in a wednesday night league when your bread and butter team use the same night as their preferred race night.
