Im not sure but the film "on any sunday 2" showed some of japanese speedway and it looked very boring.

Come on, thats a not a nice habit, now put the rat down and bury it and then wash your hands, you dont know where its been.

Things I would like to see 1 get rid of the double point rule 2 tape touch automatic 15 metre handicap, no replacement rider from the tapes. 3 false start straight round to the start again, if you go off the track you dont come back on again. 4 bring back the rakers 5 card system maintained throughout the season to riders who try to jump the start or lay down on the track, get to a certain number of points and you are suspended for a week or longer and twice in one meeting and you are out of the meeting. Not allowed to replace the rider for the rest of his rides. 6 better prepared tracks all over the country.

Thats my last meeting this season. I was going to the NL meeting on wednesday at Brandon but due to the pathetic track preperation on sunday that saw the 2.30 start time extended till 3.30 because coventry couldent prepare a decent track on a dry day before the meeting. When are they going to start to understand that people are sick of this, the constant bad treatment of the supporters when they have entered the stadium has to stop. Another thing that is getting on my nerves is the statement from the centre green announcer who ever they are "thank you for your patience" you dont have a lot of choice. Even if you felt like going home and went to the office and asked for your money back you wouldent get it, so you have to sit there and endure the stupidity of the Promotion. Will there be any comeback from the BSPA perhaps a fine, maybe coventry could be taken off the list for running big events as that is two they cocked up this season and its become quite obvious that they cant.

Do we know when the fixture list comes out? -
The BSPA meeting is going to be toured this year under the heading of a farce, it will be at all major theatres..

Intercontinental final, vojens denmark 1981, first trip abroad. Started the usual time of 7.30 and then had some rain about half way through and stopped the meeting for a while and re-started it again after some track work and we left the meeting just after mid-night. We always joke it was our first two day meeting. Does anybody remember the grand slam meeting at Peterborough in the 80s I think, started in the morning and went on forever, I love my speedway but I was sick of sitting there by the end and couldent wait for it to end. Happy days.

How does that work?
-
Fantastic, it all seems very positive now lets hope the council see sense, fingers crossed.

Nice plans, get rid of the car park first, lack of reptiles on site wont help, needed some newts really. Sorry I couldent get there I had something on in birmingham at 12 noon. What was the reaction from the locals did they seem happy about the housing plans, hope not then we could get some of them on side as well. Have the Frampton company got any land near by that could be used for a stadium if the worst happened and would they be interested in helping to keep the sport alive in the area or other parts of Coventry or Rugby.

Demolition Of Brandon Stadium
P T Preece replied to beerspanner's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sighed. great idea mattk, but didnt Reading agree a similar deal when they let there stadium go and we all know how that finished up. -
Freddie wont have a the SGP next season can see him back for Wolves.
-
Thats not a bad idea, 5 world champs at coventry over the years, Olsen, NIelsen, Hancock, Havelock and Hamill what better than to get some sort of statement in support of the stadium.
-
Just a few more thoughts, the stadium has been there for a long time, English hertiage might like to know that a stadium from the 40s is in danger. Theres an online petition site, Im sure its been on the BSF might have bben when they were trying to get Bristol back. New stadium how about some Lotto funding. Have a word with Oxford Im sure theres still a campaign group around who can give you some pointers and wimbledon. We have been through this rubbish 3 times at the Brummies in recent years contact BSSC lets face we are still trying to keep the club going. Stand outside the stadium on race days with a petition and ask all supporters to sigh, forget your hate of over clubs at a time like this the speedway world has to unite to fight for the stadium, remember its not all about the speedway, stock cars will lose a staduim as well contact there assocsiation. Nearly forgot start looking for land yourselves, spare land around industrial sites, one advantage no neighbours complaining about noise. Remember Newport no bloody neighbours.

Brummies supporter here and you need to come at this from as many angles as you can, as a matter of interest what is the Bees SSC doing, get in contact with other clubs that have been under threat and get as many ideas as possible. Your in a slightly different position to the Brummies where the owner wanted to keep the speedway, with Sandau you dont have an allie. Get a petition up, write letters and e-mail the council, but you need to organise this quick bearly a month left of the season, the meeting that are left get as many signatures as possible, ask everybody and I mean everybody, relatives, friends, mates, work mates, I had 3 of my relatives write letters demanding to keep the Brummies going, One of them dosent even know what speedway is. Its two years away but treat it as two weeks and get the campaign going big time. Even the away supporters will sign it, we worked our nuts off at Perry Barr when there was a threat to close it in 2010 and we had to get more PP. Come on if you want to keep it, work, work and more bloody work.

Ive already been ripped off by one promoter this season.
-
Oh dear what are they going to do now?
-
I thought the 8 day rule had been scrapped in favor of the 20 minute rule as they had at the Belle Vue double header a couple of weeks ago. When Harris and Andersen rode for both teams.
