  1. I havent read through all the posts, but dont trust the Phillips at the moment, it took us over 20 years to get it back and two gits 2 years to lose it, feeling very sad since the meeting at Poole, been through this twice now with the Brummies and feel very unhappy and dont think it can be saved, I hope Im wrong. Speedway dosent die because you lose a club but it takes a bit of your heart each time it does.
  2. Enjoyed my first visit to Copenhagen, also enjoyed the meeting, didnt think the crowd was the biggest. We were on the back straight and the stand didnt look like it had been cleaned for a while a lot of rubbish on the floor but a good view, shame about the track cutting up, but some good moves by some of the riders. Harris was dreadful, Tai got better sorry he didnt make the final. Well done to Batchelor and Iversen. kildermand rode well for a wild card, glad pedersen didnt get many points. Very nice place Copenhagen, stayed till monday, lots to do and easy to get around, didnt realise it was the last one, another new track for me. Bring on Cardiff only thing Ive got to look forward to at the moment, looks like the Brummies have gone.
  3. As we wanted to get home, anybody get the last race time. Thanks.
  4. Its quite worrying at the moment, but the words from jon cook and Jack Lee seem to give us some hope of a future for this season at least, hoping we are in for a good run if it works and the people coming in can turn it around.
  5. Well that was hard to watch, an EL team taking apart a PL team, one heat winner all night, thanks Simon. We had a lovely day in Poole and then went to the speedway, nice chat outside as usual to the regular bunch at the door, sat in a different place away from the moron we sat by last time. Then the action began, thought we were in trouble from Heat 1 but pulled it level in heat 2, started to get hopeful two heats gone and we were not behind, then we let you win heat 3 kept in at 4 points in heat 4 how Ward stayed on his bike and didnt take some of the other riders with him in the first corner Ill never know when he reared up. broke his bike though. Then we let you get 3 5-1s on the spin, trying to lull you into a false sense of security, heat 9 we got a 3-3 and then started to pull it back in heat 10 with barker on the tactical 5-3 to the Brummies, (I could see some of the Pirates supporters looking worried, it could have been wind), and then it all fell apart 3 5-1s and 4-2 by heat 14 and we knew we had lost the away point, damn. We got a consolation in heat 15 by getting a 3-3 and stopping Milik getting a max, I said at the start we wanted to get 30, 32 was even better. Track was a bit rough, the first bend they were bouncing across the track on the inside, no water went down and there didnt seem to be a lot of shale on either, still its the same for both teams and the much better team won. Had a good chat to the Poole people around us, there not all bad you know. See you in the play offs.
  6. Missed the first 15 minutes, but enjoyed the prog, Tai came over well and knows what he wants out of life. Good luck to him hope he becomes a multi world Champion.
  7. Well Im back to hoping we can mange 30 points, glad its cheap to get in, hope its sunny, it looks like that will be the only thing to look forward to.
  8. Not Ill is he, hope not, seems a dedicated speedway follower, dont want to start losing supporters.
  9. I must admit that in the PL days there were teams that came to Perry barr and you thought it would be easy, most of the time it was but now and again we got caught out. So I understand where the Poole supporters are coming from, at the last meeting we were hoping to get 30 points, but we took the lead and sat there wondering when the Pirates would start to pull it back, it turned out to be a very good meeting. I dont think we will get the same reaction from the riders and promotion at Poole this time around, once bitten and all that, just going to enjoy the day. See you there, come on you Brummies and support your team.
  10. Didnt they used to have a girl in that group, have they split from her?
  11. Shh! there keeping it a secret, dont tell everybody. Barty is number 1 Ive seen that somewhere.
  12. I was there yesterday and not the greatest meeting Ive ever been to lots of dust, baking sun, hard work for the track crew, funny watching the security man chasing off the four lads who tried to climb the ladder up to the refs box. Tense score all the way through. I brought a raffle ticket but didnt hear it announced, I did leave after the main event anybody know if it was called out and what the number was. Its some time since I brought a raffle ticket and feel slighty robbed at the moment.
  13. The music is on for at least half an hour before the start of the racing and you and Yorkie are doing nothing, maybe you could spare a few minutes of your time and have a wander around with this sound engineer before the meeting starts. I wont hold my breath waiting for some action its just like the BSPA get them in and then dont give a toss how the supporters are treated. Ears plugs I think.
  14. Thanks for your reply, but as before you want the supporters to sort it out, you have the word of the management, we dont, so as one of the blokes who chat on the mic, why cant you sort it out. Again go and listen to the PA from the supporters point of view, it probably sounds a lot different to you on the centre green. Have a walk into the stands and get yorkie to chat to you from the pits or centre green and listen to the disco we the supporters have to try and talk across during a meeting. Perhaps its not falling on deaf ears, I suppose the possibly is that you are deaf.
  15. I was at Brandon last night and I challenge you to come and stand in sections 2 and 3 the second stair way along and tell me the PA isnt too loud, its painful on your ears, every time you or yorkie start to speak people cringe from the loudness of the Pa, turn it down a couple of degrees. Its the same at Perry barr in the bar, the music is supposed to be background music, not a bloody disco. Come on stand where the supporters are and have a listen when Yorkie starts rabbitting. ITS TOO BLOODY LOUD.ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Rant over, well done to David Rowe from tuesday he will be doing the Swedish meeting taking over fron the other bloke who has no idea.
  16. I was there last night, Ward was bloody awesome, playing with Harris in there heats together, world class act. Good crowd, track a bit dusty, could have done with some water. You still keeping dropping the odd point at home, its not really helping you in the long run.
  17. Coming down for this, after last time, feel its an easy 4 points for the boys from Brum, £10 to get in as well, what a day we are going to have. Walk around the quay, boat ride, nice meal and then come and sink the pirates with our fantastic team. Saw Darcy at Coventry last night blokes bloody awesome, I sure he was playing with Harris, letting him get close and them pulling away, real class act, World champ soon I feel. See you there people, come on you Brummies.
  18. Im not talking about what happens in pits, it used to be that when the riders that have a coming together on the track, they then go over and see if the other bloke is alright, but seeing it more and more when riders just walk away. Its not the first time I have seen this over the last couple of seasons and we all know that a lot of the Brits dont get on with each other. Anybody there see if the riders went to check each other after the incidents? It worries me.
  19. Following on from what I said in the SGP about sportmanship, didnt notice any rider going over to check if any of the fallen riders where ok, wasnt at the meeting just watched it on the Tele, but it looks like this is the state of the sport at the moment when the top men in Britian, dont seem to care a toss about there fellow team mates. Some of this riders will be riding together in the SWC in a few weeks, dosent seem to be much team spirit going around.
  20. Well done Tai, what a last race four starts, lots of crashes, shame for Ben B, hope he hasnt broken that collar bone. Good luck to Cookie in Cardiff he has come a long way from being a reserve at Buxton now a GP wild card. Kennett,Lanham and Boxall out of there depth, Garrity star of the future.
  21. Great SGP last night, best so far, good to see Tai back at the top on his own. Its being going on for a long time now Pedersens terrible moves that put other riders in hospital or with wrecked bikes, hoping he was going to get his nose blooded last night but it wasnt to be. You can understand the other riders point of view, most of these incidents seem to involve pedersen, he has even been known to knock off his own countrymen. Excellent rider with a lot of talent its just a shame he has such a nasty streak, its not just Pedersen that doesent check other riders. Noticed it in Finland as well when smolinski and wuffy came together, the german just went back to the pits and Ive seen it at a few of the league meeting over the last couple of years, riders come together and then just go back to the pits. The sportmanship in sport is slowly going, not just in speedway but most professional sports. I feel this is the way it will go unless the people in charge start to do something about it. Well done Wuffy, bring it back to Britain again. Like the chat in the studio, but why does Pearson have to shout, he does have a microphone in football and other sports they swap the commenters around could they try a few other people, what happened to Havvy and the eastbourne bloke whose name I cant remember there are plenty of ex-riders about and some of the people doing the DVDs at the tracks do a pretty good job of commentating, it would be nice to hear someody esle for a change. Roll on the next one, which Im going to(excited already) bring it on.
  22. Thanks for all that information Waco, but I have been before, its the pairs I havent seen, and you have the best fish and chips, starting to look forward to it so will probably start off early.
  23. Great win for the lads, some good racing, and great performances from King, barker, Nermark and Lambert, hope Starkey is Ok after his fall, grabbed his arm and it looked bad at one point, nico had an off night but got a win and Barty nearly got another point in heat 13 but his front wheel reached for the sky and he dropped back. impressed with Zager, nielsen and worrall two wins, Cook didnt impress, neither did Tofty. Good night and three points, off the bottom as well, but dont think it will last no home meeting for three weeks, just Poole and the Aces away, cant see us picking up any points there (cant get to the BV meeting either). Come on you Brummies.
