  1. Sometimes riders need to be protected from themselves. There's discretion and valour and all that. Sam should have been overruled - he may not even have known just how well Paco had been going.
  2. And the Speedway GB site claims Smiler Sam is riding for Edinburgh. But it's only a week since he had 9 screws put into his shattered collar bone - so surely not? It's a Mickey Mouse event that presumably pays peanuts. Rest up Sam!!
  3. The tractors at Ippo always seemed to me like a potential danger being so close to the back straight.
  4. Agreed - just finished watching it. Gordon was very professional and handled the questions calmly and well. It's all been thought through in a lot of detail. Have to be very concerned about the cost though. And the timescales are very tight. Don't really see how a site purchase option could be a goer vs a lease option but maybe there are some very generous benefactors around who don't need a return on investment. Certainly could be very exciting times ahead.
  5. Roasting hot?? Puzzling!! The BSN team were wrapped up in anoraks with the hoods up. But Dave & Graham in the after match Friday Focus were in their short sleeve shirts - no jackets/coats. BSN must just be the southern softies. (Is this a racist comment nowadays?!!)
  6. Nah - Lambert, Wright, Pijper can all fly round Armadiddle. It'll be another last heat decider!!
  7. We can't afford to pay out that much - new stadium to pay for!! (Hopefully.)
  8. That's fair enough - didn't know that. But maybe regular light spraying from the beginning might have helped? A couple of of light sprays in the second half of the meeting didn't seem to have any impact.
  9. I hadn't noticed the graphic. I assumed you guys were using a programme. Fair point then.
  10. Really good that you've come back on this. My first time on BSN too so I didn't know it was your first time. So in that case I can cut you some slack! I think a lot of commentators feel the need to talk/chat constantly rather than think about what to say and then pitch in with words of wisdom. I'm sure nerves are probably the reason for most of that. So spare a few seconds to think about what you're saying and then you're likely to get most things right. I suppose I would compare with how Picko does it with Kelvin on Eurosport. But your regular comments about the lack of water were spot on - pity they didn't listen to you! But all in all I enjoyed the stream - keep it up. But for a first timer you did okay!
  11. I hope Paul Bowen is not a regular - really irritating. Lee Kilby and the girl were excellent. But the race commentators were talking constantly and not giving themselves a chance to think. So they spouted so much wrong stuff. (Interesting that 6 points ahead going into the last race meant Edinburgh had not secured the win!) Track desperately needed water from the beginning but didn't get it till there was a blue groove.
  12. Hands off my egg and cress sandwich. And it was crochet not knitting!!
  13. And as Max Fricke said when interviewed on Saturday - the track was changing all night so he had to be able to read the change. Sounds like maybe other riders can't do that.
  14. Not necessarily!! There are times when 5 seconds silence is heaven!!
  15. Good camera work and roving interviews but these 2 commentators just talk and talk and talk................................... and talk!!
  16. Josh has managed to find the best way round Armadiddle for years now!!
  17. I doubt that announcing the team members at the beginning of January for a season that won't start till April could ever have had any appeal to non-speedway fans no matter how different or glitzy you made it or where you presented it. It's purely aimed at those with an interest in the team.
  18. Seem to be a lot of anxious visitors peering at this thread in fear. Heaven knows what they'll be like after 7pm!!
