You are probably right Mr Baldyman I haven't had that pleasure!. However - a) this Sheffield team is pants Ippo are riding well c) Tungate & Heeps were surely brought up on big tracks d) Risager knocked up 3 race wins at Peterborough earlier in the season so can turn the throttle full on e) Worrall has been known to hit double figures at Peterborough and Berwick this year f) you got a point at a strong Peterborough in June So all in all - 4 points coming up!! -

Looking at that Sheffield team, 4 points for Ippo looks more likely. -

Superb entertainment last night. Ridiculous value at £20 for an adult. Track was in great condition - passing opportunities all over the place. Some of the racing was pretty scary!! The downside was that the air fence doesn't seem to be secured to the track. Hall got wedged under it in his first race against Bandits when Jensen gave him a big shove. Worse was when Barker went into turns 3&4 far too fast and piled into it and seemed to get trapped behind it for ages till they could get the bags away from him. Fortunate he was able to get up and walk back after a while. Disappointing that this is still happening after Holder's big off last year at Coventry (?). Panthers were so committed all night with the big turn around against Bandits being in heat 10 when Bandits were 4 up and Kus was coming in on the back of 3 wins and gated well ahead of Bjerre and Roynon. Bjerre seemed to rough him up a bit to get past and Roynon followed suit. That was the end of Kus' dominance for the night. He won his next outing but that was only against Barrett & Hall, and then finished at the back in heat 14 against Ostergaard and DILGER (!) with Max having to force his way past Jensen for the second place!! 4 x 5-1's, a 4-2 and a 3-3 in the last 6 heats completed the job. Of the new signings, Hall was a bit better with 4+2 from his 3 finishes; Roynon was spectacular for 6+1 and Dilger was surprisingly good with 5+1 from 4, including points against Bellego, Kus and Jensen (can't include the one against Edberg because he was pants and only scored his 1 point because Hall's bike packed up at the start of heat 9). At least Bandits made a fight of it. Plymouth on the other hand were never at the races. One race win out of 13 tells the story. Only Newman looked likely to do much and his tapes demolition in heat 8 put paid to their challenge. Barker wasn't threatening in his first ride and tried the kamikaze move in his second to put himself out of the meeting. Nice to see Hall pick up a race win (he gated in that race!) though he did hit the deck in another 2, once was by laying the bike down to avoid Barker. Ditto Dilger won a race but also surprisingly added no more points from his other two rides. Roynon was again all action and great value for his 7+1. But over the night the top 3 reigned supreme. Bjerre only headed by an opponent once in 9 rides. Dryml twice in 9 rides. Ostergaard once in 7 rides. -

Brilliant stuff Panthers! So determined! So many points from the back. Bandits vulnerable even on a big track. Great racing. Well done the underdogs! Jensen & Edberg were pants! Jensen even outmuscled by Mighty Max Dilger! He seems so puny & lightweight. 15 heats in 75 minutes. That's the way to run the sport. -
Ye gods that's horrendous. Best wishes to Liam for a full recovery.

Great price tonight - £20 adults; £15 concessions; £5 children - for 30 heats. Hopefully the track will be in good nick after the rain. And hopefully the fish & chip van will still be doing a roaring trade!! -

Radars suggest the rain should have moved away from Peterborough by 10.30 this morning and should be dry for the rest of the day. Still chucking it down in Essex mind!! -

I would have thought Berwick would be favourites being big track bullies. I will support the underdogs again - come on Panthers!! -

Might even pop along for this one too. I have the programme already after all, given the good move of including the racecards with yesterday's one. -

Well as a vaguely semi-neutral (ok I did want Panthers to win, but only as my second team!) I actually quite enjoyed yesterday!! Disappointed in the final result but Todd Kurtz was the main reason. Well done to the big bro. And also the crash suffered by Lasse Bjerre certainly knocked points off him. Oh and that goddam TR yielding an 8-1!! However I think the criticism of Panthers is a bit OTT. Hall (and the management) seem to be getting most of the stick. I don't think that's totally fair Look back at Hall's scoring over the past 3 seasons and it is about 7 and over on average. He has a great reputation on the big tracks. The Showground is a big track so it would have been an entirely reasonable expectation that he would be scoring 8 or 9 at home most weeks. As it turned out he scored paid 7. He rode well in his first ride to come from the back and beat Aspgren and Wright. In his second he finished behind Osty and the forceful pair of Morris & Wright. In his third he finished behind Osty with Allen miles in front (as he was in every race). In his fourth he was a distant second to the big bro (who picked up a paid 15). Yes he was fortunate that Aspgren dropped it when second but that was the only lucky point he picked up. It seemed to me Hall's biggest problem was that his gating was diabolical. Since it was only his second meeting since the beginning of April, maybe he needs to be cut a bit more slack. Adam Roynon was certainly better than I expected. Two very good wins. A big shame about his second ride when he collected Bjerre. He looked pretty shaken about what had happened to Bjerre. Max Dilger - the jury's still out!! First 3 rides he ends up on his bum on the first bend!! Yes he got a big clump from Aspgren to put him there but he seemed to do the other two without any assistance! Good win in his first ride though after getting the reprieve. Good points later against Wright & Aspgren. Not at all convinced Jacobs would have scored any more. But Max does need to toughen up on the first bends. I was very disappointed with Nicky Barrett. Was expecting much more. He seemed very slow. Other than that, Osty & Dryml scored as many as you would expect. Dryml's tapes exclusion in the last heat didn't help though!! By the way I was surprised to see the guy stand on the track a couple of metres away from him when he was starting off 15m. Is this normal? It looked a bit Health & Safety'ish to me!! I thought they usually stood on the grass and looked along the line to see if the start was fair? Can't believe his peripheral vision could have taken in the tapes and Dryml at the same time. Lasse Bjerre was very unfortunate and seemed to take a very nasty one in his second ride. Certainly curtailed his scoring a lot. Was surprised to see him come out for his last two rides. For Somerset, Allen was imperious and never looked like being headed. Morris scored well after his blank opener though I suspect he won't be on Osty's xmas card list after their second ride. Big bro Todd was a revelation - gated very well and looked fast. Chas was a bit up and down - I suppose 5+2 is a decent return but he has been going so well I was expecting more. Aspgren was pretty disappointing. Starke scored about what I expected - 1 awarded point. R/R was a bit of a let down - 3+1 - got to expect littly bro to have beat that. So all in all, without big bro's performance I reckon I would have seen a Panthers win with some decent races (and some processions)!! Oh and by the way - Adam could do with getting out of the gate in a straight line, he was snaking a lot!! In fact the whole Panthers team could do with being sharper out of the traps. Would have made a big difference. -
