  1. Not just Lambert you miss out on though. That's the problem with using so many riders with EL priority.
  2. Damn I feared someone might recognise us.
  3. Don't mention Catchphrase jenga - that was a dog of a series. Can always tell when the fixture list has gone Blankety Blank.
  4. Yes indeed macca. But I'm a bit concerned that you can't go along to a speedway track to watch a dust storm without getting your mugshot plastered all over the internet. We'll be on Police 5 next - but remember Keep 'em Peeled. (Poor old Shaw Taylor only died last year aged 90.)
  5. Yep less dust & more dirt and it will be pretty good! And once the spectator areas are done will be very smart. I have to say the pits are amongst the best I have ever seen. Full marks for the design.
  6. Well done!! The alternative is to come to watch Rye House with me and macca!! (Mind you it is more entertaining viewing there!!)
  7. Blue glasses again. Anderson also moved. And your eyesight is better than slo-mo's from all angles?
  8. Good pics but the important frame is in between 1 and 2. In frame 1 it looks like karger is trying to clamp etheridge but wasn't ahead enough to do it. In frame 2 you just see the aftermath of probably handlebars / elbows bashed together. I wouldn't put the blame on karger or etheridge. By the way that's macca and me in the background in frames 2, 3 & 4. Glad lanham is not as badly injured as I feared he might be.
  9. He lifted just after the start and wasn't given any room by karger. Dunno how he managed to lift given the lack of grip. Would not have deserved to be excluded.
  10. Huge thanks to macca for his assistance when I was doing the Chatzone updates. My brain hardly works quickly enough to do them solo - especially when that woman starts rattling through the heats!! The PA system on the back straight was certainly not worthy of the name but was loud and clear on the home straight and as for the 2 minutes siren - I could probably have heard that back home!! Shame about the dust though. Also I heard them say some shale is being delivered this week for the training track. Could most of it be hijacked for elsewhere?!!
  11. Bit unfortunate for Jye that he lifted a little out of the gate in heat 14 and caught Karger and they all cannoned together. But there was not a grain of dirt on the inside half of the track in turn 1 so nothing to hold you up or keep you in line. Don't know what it was like round turns 3/4. I have seen some blue grooves before but never that wide. The noise of the rakes on it and the still shoes as they came back to the pits was like a spade on concrete. Shame that it got like that for the last half dozen heats or so. I feared it might when I saw the grader going round before the start and there was just no dirt on the grading thingy at all. Once the track gets better and the building site ceases to be a building site it will be a great setup. It's great that you can get closeish to the start for a great view. (Assuming there are no subsequent dust clouds obviously!) The much maligned Peter Karger was the match winner for Rye. Gated from 4 (as most did - 10 race winners from it and 3 from 2) and there was nothing Smiling Sam could do to phase him. Rode really steadily through the race despite the pressure from Sam. Well done that lad. Crowd went wild!!
  12. That's handy. I did read unofficially that we now had priority. The lad will be knackered though - Wednesday - Birmingham Thursday - Ipswich Friday - Edinburgh Saturday - Workington Sunday - Hoddesdon? Lucky he has now turned 17 (on Friday) but when's he going to get his homework done?
  13. No chance of making both meetings I don't think. I fear we'll have to miss out.
  14. How many wild cards can a person get? Why bother making him enter and then get changed and even have to ride a few races. Just give a pass to the finals.
