Elite League Pairs 08/08
LisaColette replied to woofers's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Sounds like the BSPA wanted the pairs to stay at eastbourne and they tried hard to find a way for that to happen. Which i for one am glad about! -

Oh for goodness sake, yes bomber should have been excluded as there was contact. Ref made the correct decision, not so sure about the nicki one though... -

Emils manager doesn't seem to think so going by the echo in the bournemouth echo today: EMIL Sayfutdinov’s camp have defended their decision to lend Hans Andersen a bike for the latter stages of the British Grand Prix, claiming it helped the Russian hang on to second spot overall. Sky commentator and former world number three Kelvin Tatum admitted “it’s quite staggering to me” when he saw television pictures of the teenager’s mechanics working on a bike for Poole Castle Cover’s star. Loaning bikes among team-mates is common practice in league racing, but is rare in the white hot cauldron of individual World Championship racing, although not against the rules. So there was some surprise when Andersen hopped on Sayfutdinov’s bike for the semi-final after his own machine’s engine had “slowly seized” during his fifth qualifying outing. The Russian’s manager Tomasz Suskiewicz said: “I think it’s alright to loan a bike. “Hans has the same engine tuner as Emil. He’s a good friend so that’s why we helped him. I’m sure he’ll help us back when we need it. “It was no problem. We even helped him to do a handlebar change and other smaller adjustments. “He liked that engine. It was working really well for him. We’re delighted he got third because he helped us in the final by beating Greg Hancock. “It means we’re still second overall behind Jason Crump.” Suskiewicz said Sayfutdinov had been fined $600US and Scott Nicholls $500US by an FIM Jury for their parts in an ugly on-track punch-up at Cardiff. -

His poole bike seized just before the semi- final apparently and emil was nice enough to lend him his! -
He certainly looked a lot more relaxed after his race win. Or probably relieved come to think of it!

The nicki interviews are class! I love them. Sometimes even better than the actual GP!!

Completely agree, same reason why i'm not going this year.

Pedersen Breaks Finger Having Tantrum
LisaColette replied to Rob B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well yeah he is younger, but being on tv wouldn't stop him! In the heat of the moment people who can't control their temper/anger will do it anyway. I used to have the same problem, but have grown out of it now! Its probably why i feel bad for nicki! -

Am i the only person who feels sorry for nicki? Bless him...Though my brother has tantrums like that, so i am used to seeing it everyday anyway! -
Another Ridiculous Exclusion
LisaColette replied to Brummie Boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If i was the ref i would have excluded emil, he looked at nicki twice then decided to turn left on him ( only slightly, i should say!). Though nicki has done this plenty of times and gotten away with it, so taking some of his own medicine it seems! -

Well a friend was screaming whenever tai came out, so that may have clouded my judgement! I was cheering for all of them apart from lee (only cos i wanted to see one of the younger riders get the wildcard, nothing personal against lee!), but when i was cheering for kennett i was getting some crazy looks, like i was insane or something! .......As if! -

Steve is right in that kennett and tai got a louder cheer when the lineup for the final was introduced to the crowd. Tai got the loudest!! But bomber did get a good reception when the trophies were handed out but not as loud as i expected as bomber has been one of the most popular away riders at poole in recent years. -

I have to say i disagree with you on this, bomber is amazing at poole its no surprise he won and i am glad he did! This really could kickstart his season, so good luck to him. He didn't struggle at poole when coventry were here. Going into this meeting bomber would have been mentally confident about doing well as it must be one of his best tracks in england. Maybe i'm naive, but really don't think he is manipulating his average. -

Well i did say........ Heat 20 takes some beating, worth the entrance fee alone and easily the best race i've seen at poole all year! Just wondering what richardson's problem was after the final, did the tv catch him going off in a strop again? Would like to know what that was about as it seemed a fair race to me. -

I wouldn't rule bomber out, he may not be on the best form atm but he is really good around poole. Could be the meeting he needs to kickstart his season... -

Here's my prediction 1. Richardson 2. Kennett 3. Bridger 4. Bomber I haven't included Scott as its pretty hard to judge what he is gonna do with him not riding here plus i think some of the others could have an advantage over him. Also think Tai, Screeny and Stead will have a big say in things as well. -

They said it was gonna be on tv since the beginning of the season. Well seeing as there is a very good chance of a bees rider winning, you should go..... .....lee richardson will probably win now i've said that! -

Actually thinking about it there is a good chance of that, he always seems to do well at poole no matter what form he is currently on! -

Could see kennett winning this if bridger isn't fit in time. Fingers crossed lewis is ok to ride in this meeting. -

Thought you might be! Guess it depends what his form is like abroad at the mo as iversen isn't doing brilliantly in england either. But i guess it would be between those two. -
Nicki Pedersen
LisaColette replied to i love tractors's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Its not just nicki who does it though! Maybe they should tell the cameramen not to follow the riders, i think a lot of people would have fallen asleep on saturday night if it wasn't for nicki, but then i don't really take him that seriously - i mean he always used to swear to the poole crowd, i found that funny too! Its just nicki being nicki, i'm not gonna get stressed about it.
