  1. Surely as who ever loses will be reserve for the meeting anyway they should just run it as the first race at the final will at least mean both riders are there..... and as we all know with our sport anything can happen, someone could get injured before the final and then they are both required to race anyway!!!!
  2. Then I'll take your ticket if it's restaged when I'm back
  3. Hans Nielsen!!!!! Bit of a blast from the past there... I'm guessing you meant Hans Andersen!
  4. Not sure who's local up there! Unfortunately I won't be about for the last meet of the season at Moore Park in April as I'll be back at Brandon watching Speedway for a few months!

  6. I will add the results from Moore Park later.... Just to say Andy Aldridge won going through the card unbeaten
  7. I think early in the season would be the better option... then there isn't the problem of riders missing end of season meetings like last time
  8. AMI Stadium in Christchurch would be a good place to build a track for a one-off (and would mean I wouldn't have to find accomondation! - I could even rent out the living room, kitchen and any other floor space I can find!) But just the prospect of getting one over here would be great, I'll be there no matter what, may even make a visit to Oz if they have one there! Would be good for us to know asap though as my parents are on about coming back over in Feb next year, but if the GP was here in March I'm sure they'd delay there visit that little bit to fit in with it
  9. I've looked and can't find anything... will try and find out in Andrew Aldridge raced... if so I may be able to find out!
  10. Fortunately I either get up in the middle of the night and watch a live stream or my parents send the meetings over!
  11. Unfortunately I'm not sure on these... the only ones I tend to get to are the ones in Christchurch, but if I get time I'l have a browse to see if I can find anything
  12. To be honest Speedway as a whole in NZ is hard to follow at times.... but they are certainly doing their best and trying to develop the sport once more.... The format of some of the meetings needs a little work, especially like this series (Aldridge and Finch faced each other twice, but didn't necessarily face some of the bigger international riders! )
  13. Results from Sunday's (7th Feb) meeting at Moore Park... curtosey of the timekeeper for the meeting (how I got roped in I don't know!!!) Cory Lang 0 0 0 = 0 Ht 1: 63.25 - Bunyan, Moohan, Moss, Lang From gate Ht 2: Awd - Wells, McCrae (Fx), Tregoning (Ef) Tregoning has ef at the tapes. Race re-run and McCrae loops out of gate and lands on his bottom! Race awarded to Wells Ht 3: 63.12 - Finch, Bargh, Nelson, Blackett Nelson gates but Finch pressures and forces mistake on lap 2. Nelson drops back to 3rd as Bargh mounts challenge for lead but can't get by Ht 4: 64.16 - Aldridge, Kristiansen, Webster, Cox Kristiansen gates but Aldridge rounds him on turns 1 and 2. Webster challenges for second but can't get by Ht 5: 64.84 - Bunyan, Cox, McCrae From gate Ht 6: 63.94 - Aldridge, Finch, Moss, Lang From gate but Finch all over back of Aldridge. Aldridge though rides a good race to stay in front. Front 2 way clear Ht 7: 63.97 - Wells, Nelson, Moohan, Webster (Ef) Nelson gates but Wells performs cut back up inside down back straight and into turn 3. Webster ef lap 2 whilst 3rd. Ht 8: 63.60 - Tregoning, Bargh, Kristiansen, Blackett (ef) From gate. Bargh chased well for a couple of laps. Blackett ef whilst last Ht 9: 65.56 - Bargh, Webster, Moss, McCrae From gate Ht 10: 64.00 - Bunyan, Finch, Aldridge, Moohan From gate as Aldridge has clutch problems and lifts. Finch keeps Bunyan busy for the whole race Ht 11: 64.89 - Wells, Kristiansen, Blackett, Lang From gate Ht 12: 64.62 - Tregoning, Nelson, Cox Nelson gates again but Tregoning rounds him in style on turns 3 and 4 for the win. Bunyan direct to final by virtue of faster heat winning time (hope I got them right then!!!) Semi final 1: 63.35 - Wells, Tregoning, Finch, Kristiansen From gate. Wells pulls clear as Finch tries all he can to get past Tregoning. With lap to go Wells bike starts smoking due to losing oil bung and then it breaks down after race. Semi final 2: 64.13 - Bargh, Nelson, Aldridge, Moohan (ef) Both Nelson and Aldridge lift out of gate so Bargh pulls away. Moohan in 2nd is soon passed by Nelson before retiring on turns 3 & 4 with bike problems. Nelson closes Bargh but can't get by. Repercharge: 65.47 - Nelson, Finch, Tregoning, Aldridge All gate together but Nelson forces way to front. Tregoning and Finch neck and neck for a couple of laps before Tregoning drops back. Aldridge struggles on 2nd bike after big clutch problems with main bike Final - 63.41 - Bunyan, Bargh, Nelson (ef), Wells (Fx) Wells loops out of gate and lands on his bottom. In re-run Nelson gates with Bunyan but has bike problems on turns 1 and 2 and retires. Bunyan races clear for the win from there
  14. This meeting was run in conjunction with the NZ v Aus International Sidecar Series. I do not have the results for the sidecars (its was wet and cold so I decided to keep writing to a minimum!) These will probably be available from www.moorepark.co.nz at some point too. The 'Solo's' were the support act... in addition to the North v South meeting there was junior action, 250 cc action and Senior support races. South Island 19 1. Craig Blackett 3, 1, M = 4 2. Cody Tocher 1, E, 3 = 4 3. Adam Wilson 2, 3, 2 = 7 4. Cory Lang 0, 2', 0 = 2+1 5. Josh O'Docherty X, -, 1 = 1 6. Jeremy Godfrey X, 0, 0 = 0 7. B Sharp 1 = 1 North Island 34 1. Jon Able In addition to the programmed 9 heats there were a couple of extra races run... whether these points were added I'm unsure as the score is different than what is on the website!!!! ** I will add heat details later & Junior Races** Solo Support 1. Andrew Aldridge 4, 4, 4 = 16 2. Dale Finch 3, 3, 2 = 8 3. Tim Webster E, 2, 3 = 5 4. Alex Cunningham 2, 1, 1 = 4 5. ???? 1, 0, Dns = 1 Heat 1: Aldridge, Finch, Cunningham, ???, Webster - 66.68 Out front the race was fro the gate. Webster was last out of gate and battled his way up to 3rd place before an EF on lap 3 forced him out Heat 2: Aldridge, Finch, Webster, Cunningham, ??? - 66.53 Out front the race was fro the gate again. Webster was last out of gate and battled his way up to 3rd place once again off turns 1 and 2. He was then all over the back of Finch but couldn't get past Heat 3: Aldridge, Webster, Finch, Cunningham, - 67.32 Webster gated better this time but Aldridge clamps him down with a gate from the outside. Webster keeps it close for a couple of laps before Aldridge pulls clear. Finch was also close by and actually hits Webster at one point, but race settled down for last couple of laps
  15. Just so you are aware the meet on Friday at Moore Park was rained off
  16. We are in the future at least Ron but last thing I knew we weren't that far in the future!
  17. There has been a couple of meetings results posted elsewhere in this international section already.... I added the results from the season opener at Moore Park, Christchurch the other week, the next meeting there is next Friday (13th!) so I will do the results once again then
  18. No worries... any of the meets I get to I'll do the results.... downside is that there isn't many meetings at Moore Park.... next one is Friday 13th November!
  19. Moore Park, NZ - 25/10/09 'Best Pairs Meeting' Grant Tregoning and Adam Wilson Best Pairs Winners 2009 'Solos' 1. Grant Tregoning - 3, 4, 4, 4 = 15 2. Adam Wilson - 2, 2, 2, 3 = 9 3. Larry Ross - 4, F, 4, 4 = 12 4. Cory Lang - 0, 3, 0, 2 = 5 5. Dale Finch - 4, 4, 3, 4 = 15 6. Josh O'Docherty - 0, 2, 0, 0 = 2 7. Sean Cox - 3, 3, 3, 3 = 12 8. Matt Smith - 2, F, 0, F = 2 9. John Ross - 4, 3, 2, 2 = 11 10. Craig Blackett - 2, 2, 3, 0 = 7 Heat 1: L. Ross, Tregoning, Wilson, Lang - 63.53 Tregoning was left at gate by a lightning start from Ross. Tregoning couldn't get close enough to challenge. Lang went wide end of lap 1 to allow Wilson through for 3rd. Heat 2: Finch, Cox, Smith, O'Docherty - 68.31 Close battle at the back which kept changing. Heat 3: Finch, Lang, O'Docherty, L.Ross (fell) - 65.79 Finch kept Ross honest for 3 laps before slipping up inside on bends 1&2 of last lap. Entered turn 3 side by side but as Finch went up inside Ross fell on his own. Lang manages to catch Ross's bike but stays on to finish. Heat 4: J.Ross, Cox, Blackett, Smith (fell) - 67.75 Ross well clear until last lap bike problems looked to slow him. Somehow still managed to coast home for the win though. Good battle at the back but Smith falls trying to avoid a slight lock up from Blackett Heat 5: Tregoning, Finch, Wilson, O'Docherty - 65.19 From the gate Heat 6: L.Ross, J.Ross, Blackett, Lang - 65.75 Father and Son neck and neck out of gate and to the first bend but Larry stamps authority in the turn and pulls clear. Heat 7: Tregoning, Cox, Wilson, Smith - 69.09 Tregoning well and truly in a different class from the gate. He's then able to coact the last few laps. Wilson keeps Cox honest but can't get by Heat 8: Finch, Blackett, J.Ross, O'Docherty - 67.04 From the gate with only position change being Blackett getting past Ross at end of lap 3 Heat 9: Tregoning, Wilson, J.Ross, Blackett - 68.87 Ross gates ahead of Tregoning but Tregoning gets up inside exiting turn 2. Wilson gates last but gets through into 3rd on lap 2 and sets off after Ross. Ross makes mistake on 3rd and 4th bends lap 3 to allow Wilson closer and then repeats it on final lap to allow Wilson up the inside for the only maximum of the day. Heat 10: L.Ross, Cox, Lang, Smith - 67.88 Ross gates and goes again. Smith was 3rd for a lap and half but as Lang goes past he falls off and then remounts. Final: Tregoning, Blackett, Wilson, J.Ross (fell, rem) - time unknown Tregoning is last out of the gate but from the outside blasts around the outside on turns 1 and 2 to clear off for the race win. Ross fell exiting turn 2 to leave the title going to Tregoning and Wilson. Wilson and Blackett were close throughout but Wilson was unable to get through I will add Junior Solo results later
  20. Grant was part of the winning pair today at Moore Park too... looked impressive, only lost first race and that was against Larry Ross.... will post all the heat details later when I get chance
