  1. Great news for the team just hope for his sake that it's nota knee jerk reaction to the british under 21.
  2. So its Sheffield KO Cup now 11/5/2013. Wont Garrity be missing? Surely we have a serious chance of a semi final place against Sheffield. Just what is Len thinking?
  3. Oops! Cant see much other than a fairly lumpy home win to be honest. Whether its enough to win on aggregate though is another thing. Kasper will need to be on form though as young Ben is nt having the best of times.
  4. Maybe I'm wrong but has nt this been changed to Plymouth in the LC?
  5. Shaders he was interviewed during one of the enforced breaks during the Ipswich match. To be honest I was mid burger at the time but I thought he said something about being fit to ride now but the doctors were recommending that he have a pin removed first. I thinking he was looking end July ?
  6. See in his interview simon says Len is saving his place for him . See in his interview simon says Len is saving his place for him . See in his interview simon says Len is saving his place for him . See in his interview simon says Len is saving his place for him . Oh the joys of living in the countryside. No signal for hours then all your attempts to message go through at once
  7. That may be true but after their apparent fall out the mere fact Len is letting him have track time suggests more.
  8. Knock this team at your peril. The hunger is there. This is so like the Rockets of the late seventies building momentum to a fantastic team. It makes you wonder how much PL speedway the EL bosses see that none of them are currently doubling up. Well done boys. Fantastic effort.
  9. Plymouth are undoubtedly a better all round team than they were last year but we do have a chance None of our kids will be overawed. I take a home win but barring further injuries to the Rockets not by much. COYR
  10. Or as I say Pontus Aspgren. Lets get some young hungry blood in. He's got a 3.15 EL average.
  11. An email sent by the club says that is the arrangement for the Plymouth and Somerset meetings. It does not go beyond those fixtures.
  12. I think Pontus aspgren would be a decent shout. Highly recommended by Linus or Stefan as I remember and on a 3.15 EL average. We could do much worse. X
  13. flag rag I may just try those. a free season ticket for you if I win.
  14. I do fear for the impact the delays had yesterday. I saw a lot ofnon regulars there yesterdayand most went after heat 8. I thought there used to be an arrangement whereby county would send a replacement or we shared with the go karts. Maybe being Easter there was a especially high demand. Its a shame because on what was a poor track there was some half decent racing and tons of incidents. A big test against my tip for the league - Somerset this saturday. We wont cope well with r/r unless we make a signing and push JG down to reserve.
  15. yes indeed. As supporters you cheer (and moan)at riders and beckon them to go inside or outside but it must be on nights like this that injured riders find out who their friends are.
  16. Oh and Lanham was having his conversation with the ref right by us. I like Lanham and he was as I saw it being very fair as is his way. I think he was saying there was a ridge on the third and fourth bends and it could nt be sorted by grading but needed a blade. I think that view was probably shared by others.
  17. okay put these words in the right order - mouth in foot. Yes the track was poor as was apparent when Len felt the need to apologise for its condition before the start. However as a Rye fan I would be far happier with the form in these two matches. For Ipswich Barker is of course class and Lanham does what you want from a heat leader -Good solid scoring. Tungate and Heeps both looked bright although Heeps tailed off badly. Not sure why you put up with Risager. Ellis looks NL and Jari's injury (and I hope he makes a speedy recovery)makes you stronger. For us Allen will get better as he gets dialled in and JB looked really sharp before his injury. For those actually there (rather than those commenting from their arm chairs)Nelson, Anders and Jason G looked really good attacking the track and made several passes. Simon L was clearly going for it too. Lykke really being the only one looking a little out of sorts. If you saw the highlights of this meeting it was nt bad at all. The delays killed it. What did people think of the referee. JB's exclusion looked a little harsh from the tapes stand. He went for a gap which closed. No ones fault just racing. All four back. Thought Lamberts exclusion looked poor. He was past Tungate with momentum and it looked like Tungate saw him out. It may have looked very different from a different angle though. Thought the heat 14 decision looked weird even though it favoured us. Looked like JG went for a gap that was nt really there. Obviously wishing all the riders a full and speedy recovery. It really does remind you how dangerous this sport of ours is.
  18. It is funny how times change. It seems like only yesterday when Ipswich fell from the EL and moaned like hell about the lack of racing after their first visit to Rye House. Now we have four of the best young racing talents in the country coming through at Rye and a track that I suspect will be prepared to display their talents . If I was an Ipswich fan I would come tomorrow just to see some decent racing. It will be a long season for them.
  19. Thanks Waco. I must be getting old but I thought Eddie made his debut for us when he was 15. Hows Ben looking this year? I have to say he is very unlucky not to have a PL place this year. His home form at Rye was very competitive. How does he compare the shape of the track at Kent to Rye or elsewhere?
  20. Now not to put any pressure on the lad but when would RL be eligible for PL racing? I have to say he is geuninely the most natural talent we have produced since Tai.
  21. I have to say I cannot wait for this season to start. I am genuinely more excited about this team than any for a few years. Yes Len could and should have used the full allotment. However Everyone between Ollie and Simon has a realistic prospect of achieving a real time (as opposed to rolling) average of seven plus. Ollie might struggle to hold to his average but he will be an out and out number one. I also think Simon has a real chance to improve at reserve and if he does nt there is the shadow of Luke Stevie Boxall and others at Kent waiting in the wings. We may take the odd severe beating but I would be surprised if, barring injuries, we are not voted most entertaining team on our travels. Jason G, Anders and The wave of chaos that is Nelson will be worth the ticket money alone and I see all of them being offered double up opportunities as the season goes on. JB looked back to his best at the end of last season and seems to offer loads in terms of team spirit. The big one though may yet be Lykke - if he only he could start. Some people bemoaned the big wins at home then they moaned at the lack of excitement but credit to Len we have a team full of grit excitement and entertainment. I can feel a 1979 rites of passage forming. Come on the Rockets !!!!!
  22. Ben on a three and a seven pointer to replace Luke?
  23. Could nt agree more westham boy. Mellgren Nelson Garrity and Kasper should be shoe ins for next season. Happy to see how Lambert goes but cant help wondering whether it was worth taking a chance on another young Aussie instead.
  24. Bit harsh Scarra. I think its the same story as Frampton. They both like fast big race tracks and the tight technical rye track has killed their confidence. Cant blame Len for signing them in the first place as it gave us the chance of points away. The only mystery is why (1) they were invited back and (2) why they agreed to come back. Not a fan of Lambert but pleased to see that Len will not tolerate second best anymore.
