The EL is a shambles. Thank goodness Len did nt decide to go up.
-
Shaders is very noticeable by his absence. Where are you sir? I can't help but think the whole EL thing is a spoof or rumour. I really can't see the controlling promoters there being brave enough to make the sort of changes that are required for Len to take the leap.
-
But hopefully not Mr Vega. Sundstrom would be a brilliant addition to Garrity Nelson and Mellgren though.
-
If that's true then it must reflect a substantial reduction in the costs of running in the EL as Len is no mug when it comes to money. and presumably Kent Kings move into the PL?
-
More likely eilat for some winter sunshine.

I think I have a DVD somewhere of a meeting between Crayford and Rye House where there are fisticuffs between Steve Naylor and I think Kelvin Mullarkey. I'll try look it out. -
I suspect Kent might be a more likely destination .

Is nt the team average 38.5 for next year. Very good team otherwise although I wonder how Robbo will be and whether Lindgren is consistent enough.
-
I agree Boobs. I think the frustrating thing for us is that Len will assemble an attractive six riders then pick a poor fitting seventh which undoes all of the good work. As you say though better to have speedway than not. Is it true Newport may be returning next year?
-
Can I ask. There seems to be talk of the EL falling apart and the leagues combining and because of that little team planning can be done. Is this because sky sports is allegedly threatening to withdraw its coverage or for some other reason that has passed me by?

Now I am sure I have read them wrongly but if the totals attributed to the final green sheets on the bspa site are correct only Edinburgh, Ipswich Newcastle and Somerset finished the season with a combined higher average than the Rockets. I know everyone can what if . . . but what if we had used our total points quota at the start of the season and not had such horrible luck with injuries!!!!!!!!! Im not a big fan of rolling averages as I don't think they are a true reflection of a riders actual form but they may really help us next year if we can keep the nucleus of this team - JG,AM, TN,JB and PA together.

When is the promoters meeting this year?
-
If only it was Linus !!!

And Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz are our new starting marshalls. Oh just to get back to a winning team in the race for honours and an injury free season will be a plus. I know everyone knocks the presentation but rather than just moaning about it why don't we spend some time working out how to change it for the good without incurring significant costs and ways of promoting the club to boost crowds.

Well done Somerset. Awesome team and good support. Not sure they deserved a win on the day though. Morris's falls self inflicted and almost bought nelson a cropper. Pleased for their promoters and management too. We also should give thanks to Doyle and josh who have been great guests for us. For us a strange season. Injuries again have killed it. however A team including mellgren nelson garrity Pontus and Bunyan next year won't be far away. Sorry but for me Olly has been a very poor number one. If we stay injury free ( for once) the good days will return. Bring on Lambert and a proper number one and we will be a good team. Just one thing about crowds. It's fairly obvious that only so many teams can be truly challenging for honours and they will always see solid crowds. Those who are nt challenging will see crowds fall. Rye are no different. If we have a top team so crowds will increase irrespective of whether there is enough fish or not .

I can't remember the actual words but my interpretation was something along the lines of Len silver is the best promoter there is and you need to get behind him because you don't know what you ve had until you've lost it.

Will we be running in 2014 and if so in what league I wonder. I had nt read too much into closing the season straight after the cup final on 6/10 - three weeks earlier than usual -but Peter Sampsons interview straight after the NLRC sounded a little sinister. Thoughts?
-
Tense rather than good racing but a good advert for the NL. I think the field this year is the strongest so far. As a Rye fan I was delighted by Boxalls win. Very well deserved. Not sure the Morley incident was quite as clear cut as Waco saw it. Ben was in front but cut fairly sharply across leaving the chasing rider little option but to wipe him out. Only disappointing feature was the Dudley fans booing Nielsen . Not normally one to stick up for the Mog bogs I thought the kid handled himself well. I understand from a Dudley fan that there's history there but to the rest of us there it did nt paint the Dudley fans in the best light. Blackbird and Kerr looked sharp and Lamberts time amongst others will come. What we need now is a rule where by the NL kids are given a helping hand into the PL.

Did nt Jason garrity average near ten points - an improvement of five points - before his injury and come seventh or thereabouts in the british final?

You obviously are nt local. It would have been fit for power boat racing I suspect. Seriously there was a ton of rain and the track is by the side of a river that seeps. Don't forget as we'll the rye riders need all the track time they can get especially ollie before the cup final -

Lots and lots of heavy rain over the last 24 hours here. Nothing surprising about the call off.
