  1. Oh that is the most dreadful news. I remember when Jamie Fagg (?) came over and Trevor was his mechanic. His progress was a joy to watch. So exciting. The last I heard he had married a girl mildenhal way and was gardening. One of the best racers we had.
  2. West ham boy - did you say the late Trevor o'brien?
  3. You lot are funny. It will take time for dugard to bring young talent through. You don't just wave a wand and they appear.
  4. Always very good value at that level.
  5. It may be part of the job but they are still human. Higher profile sportsmen or women than them have had careers that have suffered by having their confidence destroyed. The reality is that bar the newbie they are all on averages that can be improved and in most cases considerably. Getting off to a good start is vital.
  6. I really do think we are being too negative. Come on if the guys read this stuff it will send an awful signal. Lets give them a chance. We all start on the same points limit and at least we have nearly filled our quota. We have strong experienced reserves and huge potential in the engine room.
  7. I don't see that at all. As long as nelson arrives and Len listens to the riders regarding track preparation that is a very strong team at rye. You only have to win your home meetings to keep the fans happy. Throw in a couple of away wins and you have a team capable of the play offs.
  8. No old clique comments from me. Think Andrew is a legend and as from a tutoring perspective worked wonders with Nelson.
  9. Got to say we have become a miserable bunch. I think it's a mistake not having Oliver for Luke but actually that is nt the worst team at all. Don't forget boxall rode as our second heat leader for the first half of the season and JG was coming back from a seasons lay off. The new Dane looks a good prospect and nelson is always good value. Two strings reserve too.

  11. If you remember we did say be careful what you wish for when some moaned about big home wins. Oh for those days now
  12. I love luke - a great guy who is a legend for us but I do wonder if maybe he has different fish to fry. He's not the hungry young kid who bounced back from horrific injuries anymore. He has family responsibilities and to me looks for the first time ever that winning speedway races does nt come first in his life.
  13. If Steven 101's team is under the points limit that is in my view the league champions 2015.
  14. Funny how history seems to be revisiting itself. Was nt much wrong with the set up where there was one strong british league and a good quality NL. Could do much worse than go back to that set up. at least that way in these difficult times almost everyone can afford to run in one league or the other. Was it Crayford that was tiny and had a horrible dip on the first or third bends?
  15. Yep heard that one too as well as the one of a big new signing but I have no idea how much truth there is in them
  16. Rumours rumours and yet more rumours. The one I am hearing more and more is that this is Lens last season. Assuming it is lets hope the old fells builds a team to befit his send off. Roynon at reserve with greenwood and kennet and garrity with a proper second heat leader would be a great start.
  17. Can't see why the top of the premier league don't join with the EL with the NL getting back to how it used to be with a credible points limit. Teams like Scunthorpe (NL) can form a third league in the form of an upgraded MDL. For those who really want to see the worlds elite let teams like Poole have a second team in a European or world league.
  18. As I understand it Rye are proposing NL and PL next year. Maybe rather than weakening the NL the points limit should be increased both as a maximum and minimum points level to ensure a reasonable quality of competence throughout. Still room for some rookies but ensuring a better overall product with stronger teams.
  19. I'm sure we would love him mate and he goes like a rocket at our place excusing the pun but did nt he and Len have a bit of a bust up I'm sure we would love him mate and he goes like a rocket at our place excusing the pun but did nt he and Len have a bit of a bust up
  20. If we are having fantasies bring back Linus. The bottom of the team is almost as important. Certainly be good to have Oliver and the enigma which is Tyson nelson back.
  21. I've not heard the klindt element but the rest of what you say is doing the rounds
  22. Maybe Luke will become a number 1 at NL level if Len is running teams at Rye and Kent. Much easier on the pocket I suspect
  23. Surprised there has been no comment regarding what Len apparently said at the NLRC about Rye being NL next year. I was nt there so don't know exactly what was said. I assume that is in addition to PL? Makes sense if as said elsewhere Eastbourne Kent and lakeside have NL teams.
  24. Well as I understand it we are running2015 and that's a start. Kennet garrity and greenwood. Lykke paired with him at reserve. Boxall at two. Should leave plenty for two heat leaders. X
