"So, any Mildenhall fans making the trip down? Hopefully there will be a big contingent and the atmosphere will be one that the final deserves." Yep, we are bringing a coach of 53 Mildenhall Supporters, plus there are a number of supporters coming up by car. Should be a cracking meeting. Really looking forward to it.

Yep, hopefully going to get up there Chris, but we do come up to the "land of whippets, Tetleys Bitter and Frightened Sheep" on a very regular basis as our daughter is at Uni in Leeds and we all love Yorkshire. Might see you later Thanks to everyone giving the weather updates. Hopefully leaving Newmarket about 4'ish. Spoken to the Scunthorpe Management this morning and they have assured us that they will do everything in their power to run this meeting. -

Due to Stoke changing the date of their leg of the KOC meeting to the 22nd October, the Official Mildenhall Fen Tigers End of Year Celebration has been rearranged for the 28th October at the Worlington Hall Hotel. Apologies to anyone that has been inconvenienced in anyway. Tickets can be purchased from Nikki or Carol at Sunday (25th September) meeting, or by giving us a ring. Thanks

Very best wishes to John Oliver after his very nasty looking accident. Wishing you a very speedy recovery. Thanks to all the Mildenhall riders for giving us all a cracking weekend of racing, which with the travelling as well, must have been very tiring, but for the Supporters was a brilliant Bank Holiday treat.

Anybody have any news on the weather?

We have a sponsor for this Sundays meeting, Mildenhall Fen Tigers v Isle of Wight, He feels very passionate about the fact that Mildenhall should now have its own Air Fence and has come up with an idea that would hopefully get the fence in the not too distant future. These are his thoughts: "Meeting sponsored in aid of the Mildenhall Air Fence. Mildenhall Speedway needs an air fence, both for race meetings and practise sessions. A suitable fence is available for the price of £10,000. Clearly this is beyond the means of the club at this time so here is a plan that might help. I propose that we ask for ten people to invest £1,000 each to enable the purchase. In return for this each investor receives admission to all Mildenhall Speedway events for five years. Effectively this is a shared ownership scheme. Maintenance of the fence will be the responsibility of Mildenhall Speedway. If during the five years of the scheme Mildenhall Speedway ceases running the fence would be offered for sale and the proceeds divided between the joint owners. If Mildenhall Speedway continues to run for the 5 years of the plan then ownership of the fence will pass to Mildenhall Speedway. Currently we are looking for 9 more investors. I am sure we can all think of disabled ex-riders that we would love to help if only that was possible. Whilst we all have to accept their situations as they are, your help now may well prevent serious injury to riders who are currently fully fit and healthy. If you are in a position to help and this idea appeals to you please get in touch with Nikki Lee 01638 712455. email: michael.lee35@btopenworld.com or if you are at the meeting & are interested please make yourselves known at the sponsors lounge to discuss these plans further……… " The Promotion will also be donating all monies raised at the meeting to the Air Fence Fund, Including the meeting sponsorship cost.

I am Secretary of the SMS Supporters Club and I can tell you that we do not give individual riders money. We support riders by contributing the meeting raffle monies for the purchase of riders tyres and fuel. We have raised money for the Academy and will continue to raise funds to support the Club, but no monies have been given to any individual rider. If you wish to become a member of the SMS Supporters Club, the annual fee is £5.00 and you will receive a regular breakdown of our accounts with your Members Newsletter. We have always, and will continue to be, completely open with our accounts. If you wish to send me your details I will forward you an SMS Supporters Club Membership form. Carol Reynolds.

We can now let you know that Cameron Heeps will be joining us tomorrow evening at the Worlington Hall for the Race Night & Buffet. We hope that you can all come along and welcome Cameron to the Tigers. This event is from 7pm and you can purchase tickets at the door for £5.00, this includes payment for the Buffet. Should be a great evening with the promotion and riders present. Kevin Jolly will be comparing. A great way to support our up and coming riders by raising funds for the Mildenhall Academy. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Johns injuries are not quite as serious as first thought, although still very unpleasant for the poor boy. He has a double break to one leg, but it looks as if the other injuries are not as they thought, just bad bruising. Thank heavens for that. Best wishes to John for a speedy recovery from everyone at Mildenhall Speedway.

I have to agree with aljack, at last we have a professional promotion team that can see the Tigers go from strength to strength for many years, not just limp along year after year and in some cases not even managing the limp!! We dont want to be remembered as the only team in the history of speedway that never won a match in a whole season! If the Tigers cant make it with the promotion that we have with their wealth of experience and knowledge, than no one can! Lets all be positive and very grateful that we even have a team to support this year, I know I am! Good luck to the Promotion, the team and the Academy, Lets all get behind them and support them, we are not the people making the decisions and stumping up the money, they are! lets respect that.
