  1. As ever, the BSPA for serving up yet another piss poor, further diluted product. Hamper any team that has any sort of top quality rider in it...give them an average that they can't possibly attain. Fantastic stuff. Rosco sounded a very jaded man when asked about the winter changes before the meeting tonight. Can't blame him. Time and again he's tried to build a strong team using established riders along with the odd gem, only to be cut down by the annual rearranging of the deck chairs/BSPA winter conference. As I've said. It's barely a credible competition these days, the league. It's got more like an exhibition, like wrestling, only speedway somehow makes itself look more stupid than that at times.
  2. Not an overly surprising result, was always going to be tight. You could say BV got the cigars out when the match was won in heat 12, but when there's an extra point up for grabs, that's no excuse. What actually happened was probably how Rosco would hope this season would go, blowing teams away in heat 13 and 15. The only hope we have this season is if we can somehow hang on in the first 12 heats, then finish it off in the last 3. A few points from Ellis would probably swung that, Fricke not scoring as he could have...probably all evens out. Racing was pants in the most part, couple of decent Ines towards the end. Match race between Bjerre and Doyle pick of the bunch. Refs useless as ever. Worrall touches the tapes, not chucked out. Grondal's clutch twice chucks him off the bike before the tapes have gone up, should be excluded for delaying the start, but wasn't in either. Rollers all night. Useless, where do they get these idiots from? Morris and Bellego looking very racey, should be good to watch this season. Not going to get wound up about not winning matches this season. It's not like this is a legitimate competition any more. Just entertain us.
  3. There a new rule on starting this year? Everyone rolling, worrall touches the tapes with his front wheel as they go up, invited back for the re run? Or are the refs still as incompetent as ever?
  4. Surprisingly decent crowd tonight. Just shows that a fair few people will pay to watch this train wreck of a professional sport still. If only the powers that be would realise what could happen if they put a professional product together. Amusing looking at the heat 2 line up and knowing pretty much bog all about any of them. Top flight, really? Andy Smith's son out there apparently..makes me feel older than it should.
  5. Barely payed attention to anything that's happened in speedway over the winter. Whilst the world moves on and changes faster than most of us can keep up with, I can come back for a look on here every March to find out British speedway organisers have royally cocked up another headline event, and Shovlar is still spouting complete bollocks. It's as if time has stood still / is on an infinite loop
  6. Thought it from the first news that we would be getting a new stadium...I'll only ever be totally convinced once I'm in the stands at the new abbey, watching a race meeting. After years of good news, bad news, unknowns, confusion, contradictions and unanswered questions, I'm still of the same opinion years later and supposedly 6 months away from it being completed.
  7. Hope it doesn't but can imagine this getting pretty ugly if the track isn't quite "right". Could have a tricky track with Swindon riders refusing to ride on it, Lakeside insisting it's fine, and just all hell breaking loose in huge farce.
  8. Awful awful racing so far. Piss poor for a 17 quid product.
  9. Christ alive some speedway riders are a different level of thick. What's the point of risking effectively not being in the race when you're on a double points ride in favour of the 10% chance you make a flyer and get away with it. Stay still at the start, stay in the bloody race.
  10. Well done GB, couple of places higher than I thought we'd finish. Need to learn how to ride a track from heat one, rather than coming to the party in the latter heats. The poles probably can't believe how close they let the 2nd division Brits get to them, 20 days and nights of gruel and water as punishment coming up for them no doubt.
  11. Former GP pole in humiliating loss to premier league Brit on world stage. The poles will be crying into their cheap lager tonight. Well ridden Danny.
  12. Ugh, Rosco. Don't see the point in putting your best rider in at heat 20. The meeting as a contest could well be over by then. Might as well get us in the running and hope for the best in the closing heats with "weaker" riders. A long shot, but hope it works out either way.
  13. This is looking to be a cracking last 4 (5) heats coming up. Get Woffy in the first nominated heat hopefully winning it, and hope for the best with the pressure on for the other boys.
  14. Christ on a cross-trainer. I have no idea why any rider would risk charging through the tapes in your very first ride. What's the point on missing out on 4 crucial laps of track time to get the bike dialled in at the very least?! God speedway riders are thick.
  15. Another demonstration of why a "grippy" track doesn't instantly mean good racing these days. Awful.
  16. Batch's season last year went ** up in his first race of the season at blunsdon. Smacked the track with his shoulder after a tangle coming out of the gates. After that I don't think he was ever fully fit during the rest of the season, always a shadow of the rider he had been in recent seasons, with a few more knocks here and there if I remember correctly. Even in the GPs looked stiff as a board on the bike, especially with other riders in close proximity. Ward came in and it took the pressure off and he also managed to get out the gate a lot more, so was amongst the points again. Darcy getting injured was probably the low point of a crap year for him. Chuck in a few heavy tracks in end of season weather, which he's notoriously not a fan of, he was guff. KL fans trying to interpret something that they weren't actually present at to make an informed opinion of......do yourselves a favour for Christ sake, before you make yourselves look any more ridiculous. If batch simply held his hands up and said he was struggling with confidence, injury, what ever and said sorry for his poor performances, Swindon fans would likely be much more compassionate towards him. He said nothing of the sort and essentially told the paying public to do one. As good as he could be this year, you are welcome to him.
  17. Looking at a vid or two of the colts meeting, great size and shape of the track. However, if it's as slick and smooth as it appears it was last week, I don't think that'll play into bomber's or wright's strengths at all. Although Tungate and Sedg could go well. Wright was flying in that home loss to Wolves a few weeks ago, whilst Sedg and Rohan looked like juniors. Since they've made blunsdon super slick after that, the situation has reversed.
  18. TR off the guff gate....urgh. Won't be surprised if we come back from this, mind.
  19. Batch looks like klindt from a couple of years ago. Head completey goes if anyone goes remotely near him. Hope Rosco puts Wright in for batch's other two rides
  20. Most exciting part of the evening at Swindon so far has been seeing the deals on at oak furniture land on the big screen.....
