Id be surprised if Cardiff goes ahead July 18th The Open golf is cancelled on the same weekend and Wimbledon the previous weekend has gone. Its not an event that would run behind closed doors. International travel into the UK has to be monitored closely for a long while yet. Maybe I'm too pessimistic.

I can see some sense is what is said by Rocket. Cardiff does have its bad points. There is obvious profiteering from some well known companies who bulk buy hotel rooms and then sell on individually for profit. Its a quick buck made from fans. The racing can be from the gate in a lot of heats. Manchester is a far better track for proper racing but Cardiff does have the plus points of having a stadium in the centre of town and a roof. Its not complusory you buy booze at inflated prices, plenty of time for booze before and after if your a drinker.

Your a nice human being. Seeing a company crippled, which will have knock on effects for its staff, is a positive for you. You lack even 1 brain cell.

Agree

If refunds are not given it would be one of the biggest mistakes the sport has made. Fans would be turned off the sport at a time when they are needed most.

Just my opinion but Prague has no chance of going ahead in mid June.

As a last resort one final would be better than nothing. -

Very sad days at the moment but July is 4 months away. Who knows what will happen. -
Polish Speedway Postponed until May 22nd
Mark replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
No speedway in the UK until June 15th at the earliest. With so much international travel needed regrettably I cant other countries will start any earlier. -
you might be right but there is no way you can be certain

Reading the Warsaw GP thread it's the same no refund policy but they are now offering refunds. At a time when speedway needs every fan any denial of a refund would be mindless. I'll retain hope a new date can be found.

Warsaw GP 2022 Saturday May 14th

What is stupid ? Only Warsaw moved to August 8th so far. Thats as far as the plan goes. -
I didn't know that.

Try reading the posts above this one. But unlikely unless the virus problems are still with us after July 1st. Find out tomorrowWarsaw first would mean moving Cardiff, Sweden and Wroclaw.

Warsaw GP 2022 Saturday May 14th

summer holiday period. -
Only 3 GP's before July 18th at Cardiff which gives almost 4 months. Warsaw already moved to August 8th so maybe just the two in Prague and Germany to find a slot. Or cancel. A GP weekend sounds good on paper but won't work. There must be thousands of people with flights and hotels booked for the original 4 dates. If speedway is back running, which means international travel is permitted, refunds on those original 4 dates would not be paid. It would turn more people off the sport at a time when it needs everyone to unite.

SoN could easily be run on one day. Whether that's two meetings afternoon and evening or just one meeting.
-
I think you know the answer and doubt you will have long to wait for an official announcement. But hotels and airlines are offering refunds or to book another date in the future. Tickets at Belle Vue will be refunded.

Will the premiership start on time?
Mark replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I agree with this. The very best optimistic option is after the 12 week self isolation period ends in mid June. Add a few weeks to get the schedules sorted and maybe start sometime in early July. Canot see anything better than that. -
As I said May in the UK has no chance.
-
If Europe is stil on a border lock down in mid April which is very likely then there has to be a decision around that time if not before. The BPSA will also have decisions to make around the same time about racing in the UK. If the Over 70's are being told to self isolate for 12 weeks that runs into mid June. SoN has no chance of going ahead May.8th

Leave the change as late as possible. Many airlines and hotels will give 12 months. No one could know when sport will start again.
-
This sort of speculation is reckless as you cannot possibly know what will happen to the sport.
