  1. we need a number 1 if KK isn't back that could ride with Garrity. It's not like KK and JG were poetry in motion, more watching each other than the opposition at times.
  2. A hard winter for promoters and squeaky bum time for a lot of riders. Some have stood still, some have gone seriously backwards. I hope KK stays with the Bees, his signing was a surprise and a gamble but it paid off but it wouldn't surprise me if he was at poole either. With KK, King and Harris its not a bad top 3 compared to what else is around. Batch, Schlien, Watt are riders who could do a job on there low average or could as easily struggle further and its egg on the face of the man brave enough to gamble. I wouldn't be too surprised if maybe Nicholls was to go to Wolves, it would be good for both as he has struggled at the new stadium and he goes so well round the wolves track. Be as hard a winter as ever to second guess what's going to happen.
  3. I can't see wholesale changes- Only 2 or 3 changes needed, Its just consistency that needs to be improved. KK and King have had good seasons, Harris has been ok but not being in gp's will be so good for him next year. Garrity has never really got going, looked injured then got injured, came back well for 3 weeks and then got injured. next year I guess like with what Gemini said.. he will get injured. Bates, Woryna and Sarj have on certain occasions done ok, others have been totally out of there depth. out of the 3 I think Bates should be back. KK- Yes (if Poole don't have him) Garrity-Yes King-Yes Woryna ? Harris -Yes Bates-Yes Sarj ?
  4. It's always the way, how many times we think to our selfs if only Sky were here last week etc !! In many ways a highlights show would be much better, I think we get 2 or 3 good meetings a season and it does nothing to attract new fans. It may turn people from I couldn't watch that all night to I have got to go see that live. No rain offs and boring 1 sided meetings. And selected live meetings such as British final, play offs etc.
  5. Sorry, it's meant in good humour though.... “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”
  6. Nice touch from Scott to go and check on bomber. Nasty crash and has withdrawn with rib injury.
  7. It changes from week to week who is favourite, too close to call and I just hope the final is won by the top guys doing the business rather than a reserve top scoring.
  8. Wasn't expecting that result !! I think it was just one of those nights and a kick up the back side as to what can happen, from heat 1 I think set the tone looking at the updates and with Nicholls and King not scoring well but then neither did Rory and Troy. Can't afford any more slip ups if they want to finish top.
  9. A fantastic offer from the promotion that more often than not get pelters on here so credit where credit is due. Hope the local paper and radio stations spread the word also. Added to the fact that KK is available and Scott is always a popular visitor to Brandon I think and hope it's a good attendance, given the fact we hear practice is completely different to race day it does surprise me Bombers not gone for earning a few extra pennies than practice. It maybe logistics that have forced him if his bikes are based here and he travels by land though so totally understandable if so. We should have too much to be troubled and Nicholls is second heat leader these days so may struggle at number 1. Win by 10 at least
  10. I think its good he is back, harsh on JK but his form isn't great and it does make sense. I don't think though that just because he is back that's it all over and its Wolves title ! Last time he rode over here he wasn't great and he is doing it to keep race fit, not put himself in silly positions where he is going to get injured while going for the world title. I still think rider for rider Belle Vue are the team to beat.
  11. Enjoyed tonight's meeting, Swindon were poor but credit to us for making them look this way. A few points, first is KK rides a very different line than the likes of Harris,King and Garrity he is very tight into the bend and the speed carries him out wide and is causing a few issues on Friday and tonight. They did seem ok together after the race and in all fairness Jason is very good at showing his emotions, if he is last you know you are going to get him shaking his head as he goes over the line and after he broke the tapes in heat 1 and was all over the place in his second ride you can imagine how fired up he was for his third ride. KK is the number 1 and Garrity has very little awareness of who is around him in my opinion but racing each other is only going to cause issues further down the road. My other point is why does sarj have to constantly have that poor mechanic come out with fuel and cooler after every stoppage, is he running on such low fuel and his clutch get warmer than the others?? There might be good reason but it just seems he is the only rider who does it. After the stock cars I think the track staff deserve credit, could have been another sky sports horror show.
  12. I am in the same thought that this years team are a good bunch, just square pegs and round holes. I would like to see many back but I think a change in management is needed, somebody to get a firm hold of the riders. We can hear about good team spirit, every season all teams say it and its become part and parcel. I imagine we will hear it a lot on Saturday with team GB. Max Fricke would have been a brilliant signing but his value will have gone up massively this season, he will be able to name his price next season. Nicholls would be a bargin average next season as Belle Vue is too fast for him but if he were to be at number 2 that would/could be great, part of me though doesn't want him to come back and see him struggle and maybe wolves/lakeside and double up maybe with Ipswich? I am just happy to be able to go to Brandon in 2017 I would imagine that the 2 years after 2017 are dependant on us being in a land purchased, planning and building phase so even with this stay of execution there is still so much more to be done and in a short space of time. It was 3 years notice Sandhu gave us and still here we are with our begging bowl to give us out of the you know what. Strange no word from the old promotion about the deal though ?? Bad when we are talking about next season in July
  13. Don't agree, Bomber at the new Belle Vue has struggled, he couldn't pass PL riders at the British final and Danny King was brilliant, also his Cardiff performance and recent Ipswich and Coventry form should earn him a place. Tai Cook Lambert King
  14. I really quite enjoyed the racing last night, not sure why some think it was boring. As always we had a good scrap with Nicholls and Harris, there were numerous passes through the night. The ref was awful, like truly not on the ball that added to the drama. Didn't get to see Nicholls and Woryna crash well from where we were but it seemed they they were going wider and wider, a better night for him but he does look out of control on some of the bends, was lucky not to wipe out Fricke in heat 9. He did well after the crash and don't go telling me he was unfit for heat 14, pulling wheelies like he was!! I hope Belle Vue go on to win the play offs, Looking at there team where one can have an off night they have plenty in hand to pick them up, the Worralls were good value and when Zagar and Cook got out they team rode so close on that first lap or so, Scott will still pop up with a good ride or so as he showed in heat 14 but the man who will go far is Max Fricke.
  15. Maybe a task for the winter (or in coventrys plight, September!! ) but how many meetings are competed by complete teams, No r/r or guest, even riders missing for foreign commitments. I know injuries happen but it's just plain daft how many meetings are carried out this way.
  16. You could think this is a Poole win, Hans will be up for it but Holder doesn't like riding here for obvious reasons, and Bjarne at reserve... really... but then his points must reflect this. A good night from KK, Harris, King and then the all out style of bates and barker it could be close but then it comes to or reserves. unless we put sponge in the fuel tanks of the Poole lot I think this maybe just too much for us. Hope its not the last battle at Brandon between us.
  17. Great meeting after a shocking start so glad I went in the end, Bees are a 4 man team as the lower order are as much as they try just not up to it. Scoring well for Ipswich I would have thought Sarj at reserve would have been in the points but he was miles behind and when he did get out he fell off. Woryna wins a reserve race and is pulling wheelies like he has won heat 15, he should be all over the riders he is up against and winning both reserve races at home Minimum others are hitting double figures and ours are no where near the top teams. We are where we deserve to be in the league. The Monday after Cardiff, 2 meetings in a week and it's on TV? hmmm can see why the crowd was down but at £10 and what we are trying to achieve it didn't look great and no banners were really shown on tv from the brief look I had when I got home, Brandon is a big place to make look full at the best of times, its not like Wolverhampton for example where you have the main straight or the main straight to view from. Unless they do the same at Brandon then it will look empty.
  18. I tried that and asks me to log in to my account. Can hear it on cric free so just have to watch it tomorrow
  19. You are true, attendances are really poor up and down the country. It makes you ask how long can so many teams keep running ? What I don't get is do we know why people stop going? We think we know but has ever any survey/questionarre been done to establish the reasons? Cost Entertainment value vs previous years Rider quality Day of meeting Rules Club closed It would be interesting to know
  20. Much better meeting than Monday, great track but I guess the home riders regret asking for it to be ripped up as the most the top 4 apart from Fricke really struggled and that has not been the case from previous reports. Gate 4 scored 3,2,3,3 in the opening four heats then for the rest of the night 3 points in total were scored from this gate. I agree with Kelvin and Adams that there is no track advantage at all which is all good when you have a strong team like they have this season but an average side could struggle home and away. I wouldn't really be surprised next year to see Nicholls move on, he likes a track with a good home advantage such as Wolves, Lakeside or even Leicester? I still think Belle Vue are the team to beat with Fricke being the trump card.
  21. It's too late in the day for changes to be made for the Bees, Sarjeant is totally out of his depth and through the rules this year he must be really enjoying his speedway . Woryna is inconsistent and I didn't really think there was much to be laughing and joking about behind his team managers back when being interviewed. KK was brilliant at Kings Lynn and also at home he has been good value for most of the season so I don't think an odd off meeting is far from what we have seen from riders better than KK this season. From day 1 the build was wrong and put Tai in our team and it wouldn't solve the issue. We need to change 3 or 4 to make this team work, don't forget how many were calling for Danny King earlier in the season and for all his effort last night he couldn't pass on what was a boring race track for the tv. If you got out you were ok, look forward to the Belle Vue meeting on a real race track, Coventry at Swindon has a recent history of being a disaster and I hope we put in a good performance and get somebody to ride at number 2 as the people taking the r/r are just not up to scratch.
  22. Should be a good meeting, with Fricke moving up to number 4 it does give the Aces a really strong look. Heat 8 could be fun if I see it properly with Lambert and Lambert against Worrall and Worrall
  23. A good meeting with close racing, going into the last 2 heats with King, Harris and KK we should have got more out of this. Danny Kings outside passes were really good but there was no racing line, in the last heat it was packed down so much that Harris was never going to do an outside move but looking who he was up against he should never have had to but had others contributed the same could be said. Track improvements have been good but just need some dirt on the track, an ok crowd to be fair and tractor entertainment was good.
