  1. I think as it falls on the date it's the least we as the speedway family should do. Won't be an easy day for his wife and kids! Sure she would appreciate the gesture.
  2. See the British final has captured the attention on here !! Think the usual suspects will be there or there abouts. Tai is head and shoulders the favourite and if it was 20 heats then yes but you don't know what might happen, he could fall, ef or you never know somebody might beat him. Scott's form has improved, Bomber can never be written off and it will be some final heat as there will be Scores to settle with the bsi's wild card option. Woofy, Nicholls, Harris,
  3. I thought Scott's interview was very honest and hit the nail on the head about British speedway. Fans will have there own views on Nicholls but it is clear that he is frustrated and can see what needs to be done for the benefit of British speedway and its future. It would be a huge loss to the sport if when Scott calls it a day that he and riders like Loram and Harris can't be called upon to support the next generation. The BSPA yet again seem on another planet and there is nothing really in place involving ex riders to give the kids a helping hand. In an ideal world at coventry it would be nice to see a few of the bees riders just watch the 2nd half's at coventry and just a few tips and encouragment would really mean a lot to the younger riders.
  4. Eddie has done the crime and paid his time. Eddie is in better form than Harris, he has done well in the British finals the past few years just failing to stay on his bike when it mattered. Don't get me wrong, I am not Eddies biggest fan by far but fairs fair and if he is our form rider apart from Tai then he deserves a chance at least? Bomber will have to score well to impress for a chance at next years wild card? Tai should get automatic qualification if he carries on like he is so its either the qualifiers or Wild Card for Bomber to get bk in and the GP qualifier is a lottery if you remember the meeting at Coventry a few yrs bk. To me it looks like its the BSI sticking 2 fingers up at Scott Nicholls mainly but also to the rest of the British Final riders. Has there been any word from the BSI yet on the selection process?
  5. Take a look at Eddies scores so far this season, then take a look at Harris's. Bomber has had fewer meetings but Eddie is consistently scoring well. So on current form Eddie deserves the spot.
  6. It looks political, the reason being that if Harris is the best man for the GP he would have got the wild card spot fair and square by finishing first or second! The fact he finished behind Nicholls the past 2 seasons is a risk the bsi don't want to take again. It must be bums on seats as if you are going to mix it with Holder, Hancock, Ward, Tai, Gollob, Hampel and yet the doubt if you can finish in the top 2 against our own then fair play, there toy there rules. Again it's not anti Harris, I hope him and Tai do really well it's just again the bsi have devalued British Speedway. Look at the riders that don't agree with the ruling and they are not just the Brits either. Best of luck to Bomber and Tai
  7. To have been a fly on the wall in a few riders households tonight? I bet a few phone calls and txts went out, what if they were not watching the meeting and got tweeted it by a fan? How long has Harris known or did he know? It will get brushed over with some comment but I think there will be a few unhappy speedway riders out there tonight.
  8. Still a lot of pride in winning the British title, then on sky tell them what you think! Worth pointing out that in fairness Harris hasn't asked for this, it's the people above who should take the flack, I just hope say Eddie or Craig Cook don't finish in the position that would have seen them through to Cardiff! At least it's something the majority of us agree on for once.
  9. Maybe it was sorted months ago, no series wild card but we'll let you do Cardiff??? Only thing I can think of !! Popular move... Hmmm and maybe they are trying to think of a reason to try us with.
  10. So the riders were not informed, the national team manager didn't know and riders including the world champion think its s poor move?? Makes sense now that they decided to do it !! It's British speedway, it's how we roll. What planet are these people on?
  11. It takes away a big chunk of what the meeting was about. I feel every rider should have been given the opportunity to qualify for the wild card. We're they that worried Scott might find some form and finish second?? No explanation for the change either!! Poor poor communication again.
  12. Congratulations to Robert, hope he makes it into the Bees team in the future.
  13. I was really surprised by the quality of racing, the presentation was clear and no waffle like Yorkie comes out with. There was a smooth flow to the meeting which has been missing for so long. Was that down to the riders being keen to get on and race instead of spending 20 min digging around at the gate like the EL riders do. I can see the NL team being more of a crowd puller than the EL team at this rate! It's cheaper, runs smoother and Chris brings a more modern touch which i dont think Mick Horton understands how much out of touch we are with Yorkie, and there was actually some passing. I did put in the EL section that Mick Horton has taken a fair old amount of stick, easy when things are going wrong but amazingly not very many people actually saying well done. So well done to the Bees promotion for taking a brave move and best of luck with the new venture.
  14. I get your point and i guess its the price you pay for success in Speedway.
  15. I have always thought that the Title winning team should have the opportunity to keep that side together, let the others build upto that points limit. In 2007 i was gutted when Coventry were forced to break that team up, yes maybe some riders or the management might want to change things but at least give the club the opportunity to defend the title in the manner it was won. I think even Poole would go along with that. There are pro's and cons for that though but its just a shame for the fans to see a team broken up for winning.
  16. Again it looks like Scott and Bomber are hot property. You can see why wolves may not fancy having two gp riders but can't see no reason why it wouldn't work. Tai needs to be in a league where he can score big points to keep his confidence up, hope he does well in the gp's but the standard is getting better and better. On Tai going to coventry !! don't think it would be popular with the fans really to be fair, nothing against him but some of his comments on twatter really have not helped.
  17. I would be gutted to see Scott leave Coventry, but if it was ever the case then I think a move to Wolves would suit him very well, imagine how well he'd go with more track time. Much depends on Tai I think, can he afford to walk away from British speedway ??
  18. Congratulations to Scott, not to take anything away from him as he beat Freddie round Monmore but would have expected a few more big names. Woofy, Rory and Harris?? What was the crowd like??
  19. What a shambles!! 360 seconds late for a meeting after a delay no fault of his own. What if it was Gollob who was late??
  20. Sure you will, but the question is should Woofy be in the GP's and the answer is no. If the powers that be want a Brit then I'd be ok for Woofy to have his chance.
  21. Are you serious? Ward and Hampel are 2 then it's who misses out in top 8. Could be any from AJ, Hans, Lindback Vaculik. How would Tai warrant a place over these?? If Gollob or Hancock call it a day I don't know if they use the results from the GP qualifier?
  22. It depends on who finishes in the top 8 this year to see who will get a wild card, there is no rule to say a Brit has to be in the gp's and there are much better riders out there who are better than Tai at the moment. The best way Tai can get in the gps is the qualifier.
  23. Tai wants it but isn't ready. It will mess with his head and Harris might not be good enough but it's not through the lack of trying. He has put 100% into speedway not jet ski's or moto bikes.
  24. I enjoy it being at Wolverhampton, Not to far to travel after work and have enjoyed the 3 british finals i have been to. Fair comment about the 1st bend theory as the british final more than any other meeting you get riders throwing the bike into the 1st corner. The track always holds up well and the final heat was first class, our two best riders racing hard but giving each other racing room, if that had been a GP final and not Nicholls and Harris then more people would be saying what a fantastic advert for speedway it was. Hope the meeting ends up on youtube soon
