  1. Signings looking good but we have been there and done that enough... Bomber can't afford another season like he has the last 2 or 3. His average has to improve. Hans I like, I think he will score well and be consistent. Fisher !! I only hope he calms down as when I see him ride I think he is going to put himself in the fence or a team mate or opposition rider in the fence! Needs to be less dirty if being honest. This means though we have to say farewell to Scott Nicholls. Not the way he or we wanted it to go but his effort was always there. He will as our most successful captain be remembered fondly by all Bees fans and I hope he gets a spot with wolves or lakeside and has a really good 2014 season. Thank you for all the memories Scotty !
  2. I would have thought it would be sorted after we know the league structure and sky's intensions because if sky's money is missing then riders contracts for next season will change surely. It is crazy to think in such a poor league really that Harris is sitting on a 6ish point average.
  3. I think the bees will go down the Birmingham route and not go for a number 1. The points limit debate will shape the rest if the team but in reality the 2 signings had to be made, however Harris is only on this average because he has had a poor season. Zengotta I imagine would be in with a shout but his away form is what worries me. I would rather Nicholls get the spot but I get the feeling his time at Coventry may have come to an end. Hope I am wrong.
  4. Good old teletext, waiting for 7-8 pages to go round. Awaiting the result and if lucky the top scorer. Flicking between BBC and ITV teletext. Here in coventry we used to have Tom Wadrop who did a radio report at 10 so that was the back-up. Don't realise how lucky we are now with updates on the website and interaction on twitter with the riders. The negative is such as Holders crash Friday when news spreads like wildfire. Darcy was on the phone non stop after the crash luckily.
  5. It does look that the new generation of rider use the Air Fence as a rule to push the limits of speedway. Holder was unlucky on Friday, when riders crash into the air fence normally they try to let go of the bike, I think Harris is the best example, he doesn't want to be going into the fence with the bike. Had Holder gone into the fence at the speed he was going and the bike hadn't lifted the fence the bike could have done serious damage to chris. No matter what though it needs looking at because its such on Chris Holder, lets hope he comes back better and stronger.
  6. Last night proved that Rugby road can't cope with traffic! A 2,500 ish crowd and its was crazy trying to get out down towards the TGI island. Especially with so many leaving at once after the meeting was called off. People would have to leave at half time to try and get out the place.
  7. It is a shame that the track is the talking point and if did look very sandy looking, although as others have pointed out that the 2007 was really rutty and made for intresting racing. Poole have suffered with there track recently and that's after work over the winter, not like Cardiff that has a handful of days. I am sure this will not happen again as any man made tracks will be under the spotlight after years of us just expecting an acceptable race track.
  8. The presentation was great, the racing a complete lottery! Tai's crash was nasty and I thought he went in to fast and a copy cat crash with Pedersen but didn't have the air fence to bounce off this time. KK was really unlucky but hope he carries on this form for Coventry. Lindback and AJ are just making up the numbers and Gollob was a man "with his head in the shed". Bombers gating is getting as legendary as his 2007 win !! Not the best GP by far but still enjoyed watching it, I learned alittle about what actually goes on with a speedway bike after Scott Nicholls explanation. I thought Nicholls and the other guy were really good, funny but didn't go to far but I did think the comment about Scott being afraid of the dark was good and how Nicholls kept a straight face I don't know!! Also good to see Sophie back on screen. Be a shame if its just a 1 off.
  9. Does anybody know where you can get updates? Can't get stream on my iPhone. Thanks
  10. So, the wild card was chosen back in October! Why the big secret? And if the choice was down to marketing reasons then a, why not announce it when the tickets actually went on sale and b, would have thought speedway reasons might have been a good idea for the reason behind the wild card but then again as fans what would we know. The BSPA picked the reserves then, The whole thing stinks and to hear Paul Bellamy going on about Bomber and really Tai didn't get a mention. Just goes to show if your face fits your going to do ok. Well done BSI and BSPA a job well done.
  11. I am quite sure there is a deal in place for a number of stock car/ banger events for this season at least and also how long is the speedway lease??
  12. There is no way on earth the residents of Brandon would let this happen. Add to that its not designed for football it's time for plan b,c or even d
  13. In SCB's theory Emil finished second in last nights GP with KK third.
  14. The locals will soon put a stop to it. Would a share with the rugby ground not be a better option??
  15. Lets hope bomber gets that engine back of Smolinski before Cardiff. His form is a serious problem, huge banana skin now for both BSI and bomber as if you are averaging just above 6 on this seasons scores in our EL what's he going to do against Lindback, Gollob, Hancock , Emil ?? Hope I am proved wrong but on this form where is he going to score a point??
  16. Suprised if next years its not done by phone vote! They already don't give a toss what us supporters want.
  17. In fairness it's not showing his lack of experience, those around him have much more experience but are no where near his level. Quality not experience is what matters !!
  18. It's all about people having there time, Carter, Tatum, Wigg,Smith, Loram, Nicholls, Harris and now it's Tai's turn. The main worry is that for to long Nicholls really didn't have much of a rival, Harris pushed for a few years but now Tai has well and truly established himself this season as top dog and will it be another spell of domination or will a young gun rise to the challenge.
  19. Anyway we are going off track here!! Fantastic start by Tai in the final and just out of interest as I didn't hear the interviews afterwards did Scott and Bomber show sportsmanship in defeat or were bike issues thrown in??
  20. Scott's form by his own admission isn't great, look who had to pass last night to rescue his evening, I want a confident Scott Nicholls leading Coventry not getting the stuffing knocked out of him.
  21. But the GP challenge isn't close though is it?? I am glad Scott isn't at Cardiff, the GP boys are different gravy!! The scores over recent years reflect where Nicholls and Harris are, Tai will be something special at Cardiff in this form and whilst he is in this form he can be our Andy Murray, if his form dips he can be the Aussie again...
  22. Scott scored more than Bomber last year at Cardiff, has for the last 3 seasons at least finished higher on the rostrum than Harris? For you to dismiss Nicholls "SCB" is little unfair. How would you have the GP set up work then if somebody scrapes through a GP on 9 points yet ends up winning the final?? Are they not the winner?? Harris's victory in 2007 will be his greatest moment and nobody can take that away from him, it has in a way though been his nemesis !! If Harris fails to perform at Cardiff does Nicholls as second placed British finalist deserve the GP challenge wildcard?? I'd personally give it to the highest averaging British rider eligible.
  23. Congratulations to Tai, I don't think anybody can argue that the right man won. He may have got away with the start in the final but in fairness you could have put him 10 meters back and he would still have passed the others. People mention the spirit Harris shows but you have to give Nicholls credit last night, he was in real danger of having a nightmare night after 1,1 after 2 rides but to pull it back round to finish second. Part of me would love Scott to be at Cardiff but the other side of the coin is that on present form and the form the top GP boys are showing I am kind of relieved he isn't going to be there. Final thought.. There is a glimmer of hope for a few of the riders coming through but the line up last night was weak, after Scott and Bomber call it a day there is nobody to step into there shoes, Craig cook maybe but Tai will have a good run at being British champion now.
  24. Does anybody know of an app that allows me to watch on my iPhone? Needs flash player I think?? Thanks in advance for any tips
