  1. Great to see Scott starting the season well, he will do well for the aces this season. Could and should still be in bees colours.
  2. No.. There was a fair bit if dust flying around in the air last night. It is crazy, I want to look fwd to this team but then how many meetings are we at full strength? Look at Birmingham on friday not having barker(not much of a miss I admit) belle vue with no cook tonight, us without Howarth last Friday and after Wednesday I was looking fwd to seeing him. It's all patching up teams and how bizarre it's the EL teams that miss out, it's just messy. I want to see a regular 1-7 is it that difficult.
  3. I also am not his biggest fan, however ! Our home track, a team full of exciting racers. So it's prepared with no dirt on???? Brandon has very little track advantage as it is, so its just silly to put no dirt on the track. It was a dust bowl last night, put dirt on and then I think people have a right to say he isn't performing but it's horses for courses and we shot ourselfs in the foot last night.
  4. He also needs to earn a living? Sure riding a speedway bike with an injured knee isn't great fun either. He will come good I am sure.
  5. Not a bad meeting, bit dusty but to risky to water it i think. Some really good racing and for the bees I think there is no need for any panic reactions, Hans really isn't fit ! Must be cursed in bees colours, fisher was really good and has fast bikes but how he stayed on in heat 12 I never know. Hansen was also entertaining and he earnt his points. Vissing was no Howarth but yet again we suffer. To slick for Harris to do much but he wasn't far off the pace and it was a typical performance, can't gate but track not to his strength so spends 4 laps on people's exhaust. Garrity was better than Wednesday but he looked really good or he was struggling at the back. Sarjeant had abit of a mare but did his best and was good to see whole team lending support to him and his bikes. The new format will catch out a few riders, I like the new heat system and the bees will be just fine. Fit riders and our full team and we will be climbing the table.
  6. Good meeting, funny leaving a meeting where we have lost but feeling so positive about the team. Some performed and others didn't, same for both teams eg, Barker and Eddie for Birmingham. Hans got better and he will be a great number 1, Harris must be given a chance here, he has travelled half way across the world the past few days and probably has no idea what day it even is. He will frustrate but anybody who thought they were going to get a bomber who was going to gate needs a reality check and he is notorious for a slow start to the season added to a huge disappointment of the GP. Howarth was the surprise for me, looked very good, Hansen struggled but again far to early to hit panic buttons. Fisher was good value as was Sarjeant. Garrity will have very few meetings like this, never looked right and maybe should have thought twice about riding tonight. They all look really entertaining riders, it's so so early in the season and hopefully the next few weeks we can get some momentum into the season. Really looking forward to how the team progresses, if nothing else they will provide a cracking nights entertainment and I'm more than happy with that. Far to early to write anybody or any team off !!
  7. With a break now with GP etc there can be no excuse for the track, weathers going to be good and Stocks or no Stocks there is no more excuses. If after this there are issues I think fans and bees management will have real reason to want it fixing. I still think Sandhu wants to find us a new home, if in say 6 months there is nothing new then questions will be asked and maybe Mick will look for a plan B, maybe we could have a Buildbase stadium ??? Still nowhere have I seen it in black and white where Sandhu has purchased the stadium? It's his reputation as well on the line here so maybe I am being glass half full but I stand by Mr Sandhu, what he has done and put his money where his mouth was and supported us through titles and cup wins so maybe we owe him alittle support back.
  8. With a track that's still not great, add the rain that is just starting in the city centre I doubt anybody wants to get there and at 7pm it's called off or the meeting goes ahead with riders just trying to get round the track it's just not worth it. No win situation
  9. I just hope us as fans don't fall victim to a silly argument between the stadium and the promotion. It's not a play ground and as I see it the stadium, Mick and the BSPA all could have done things differently.. Us as fans missed out on Sunday so do they all want to try and pee us off that little bit more??? Get a grip and move on as how on earth are we going to try and find a new home for the club when we can't even put a meeting on in a stadium we are currently in. If as I hope it goes ahead, easy bees win.
  10. So when did the BSPA realise that the track was in big trouble?? It's a showcase event so I would imagine that they would have been there yesterday and today to ensure after the Swindon nightmare that this went ahead with no drama? Coventry stadium are at fault also, they made an attempt to fix the track Friday by chucking loads of saw dust down?? Did this go towards the damage to the track?
  11. Great bit of promotion. You don't see many other promotions working as hard as Mick and his team so a well done is in order. He has survived quite alot of criticism on here, not an easy time financially to take on a speedway team and I don't think many can argue at his running of the club. Fingers crossed for an injury free season for the bees and we will be in with a shout for a top 4 finish.
  12. Steve, the problem I'd that Brandon is full of history and me and my family have many many great memories.. However. To attract new fans to the sport and keep the ones we have I think a move isn't the end of the world. In 10 years time the place would need almost a complete make-over. The terraces are dangerous in places and I can't sit in the stand because the seats are that close it isn't comfortable. Did anybody expect Sandhu to come out and say I will 100% find you a location and finance a new stadium?? We can look at the situation half empty and look at the negatives and what's all wrong with all this or we look at it half full and work together and do all we can to ensure our speedway club continues. He is a businessman, but the Emil deal wasn't cheap was it I bet, the money spent on Brandon and I think in previous years it was Coventry who were mainly buying riders and then the hassle over Hamill and Hancock going to Oxford on loan etc. He has by far put his money into Speedway for what return?? And I'd go for Olsen way and house number 5, think it would be by the first bend if I ask nicely enough.
  13. In my opinion I think over his time at Coventry Mr Sandhu has done enough to earn our respect and trust that he is a man of his word. He has never said houses were not in the plan for Brandon, the way businesses are set up you never understand the full ownership and every reason behind it. Had there been much in the report a few yrs back then HMRC would have acted and more would have been reported and the sale would have been questioned. I may be in the minority, I am not sure but given previous I'd quite happily take Sandhu's word. Speedway and its politics that let him Down. Look at how we find our Elite League today !!! Maybe, just maybe if they would have listened to Sandhu we might be in a better position than we find ourself in in 2014.
  14. Is there any proof that Mr Sandhu has purchased the land from himself so to speak? Or is this Internet gossip that really isn't going to help anybody ??
  15. Do you think this will have much effect on averages also we have Potentially number 1 and 5 are going to ride in 3 of there 5 rides together if i have read it right (if they are both in heat 15 that is)
  16. There is so much history and memories at Brandon but in reality a move is for the best. Speedway and life goes on, future generations of coventry speedway fans will have there very own history and memories WHEN we find a new home. Brandon stadium is a shadow of the past, the cracks are starting to show and as much as I love the place I believe she's had her day. Dig our heels and we miss the opportunity to start a whole new adventure with a man leading the charge who has given his word to do all he can, he has never let bees fans down and I'd be very surprised if he starts now.
  17. It is a good question !! Best possible site for speedway is Brandon. He must be getting a hell of a deal as a move elsewhere even for land isn't cheap and if others can buy land and build why don't we just build on the current site. You can't put a price on the history, tradition and memories of Coventry Stadium. That's my biggest issue on this. Why move when you have a home??
  18. Will the residents of Rugby road now fight the plans?? Will be good to know what the actual plans are !! Houses, flats or supermarket etc..
  19. Who says Mr Sandhu isn't looking at sites? Just because he is asking could mean just that slight chance somebody knows something that gives us hope of a new home. It's easy to be all doom and gloom, but at least we are going to try and move rather than end up like other clubs with homes that are not running. I am keeping positive and we go with this idea and all work together and help and support Sandhu or we start collecting DVDs and we can in 5 yrs harp on about the past and how speedway was taken away from us. It's ours to let slip away at present and I for one don't want to see speedway in Coventry lost.
  20. Least we have a few years to look ahead. Coventry not first and won't be the last in this mess.
  21. Can't see it. Near Ryton would be perfect, needs to be site specific for speedway and stock cars. There will be those that say it can't be done but if we all want speedway enough then I am sure it will happen. Our fan base is in top 3 easy so support for it will be there.
  22. Three years is enough to make a move happen, as shown on here I think the Bees have one of the strongest following in British speedway. Mr Sandhu has been looking to sell and I would imagine he hasn't waited till now to look at other sites for speedway and his other sport interests. He has always been good to us and he has given his word and that's encouragement enough for me. Brandon is a shadow of what it once was, speedway is a shadow of what it once was. So my head says a move is right as who in there right mind would try and refurbish Brandon, it's a big stadium needing more than a lick of paint. The days of packed out terraces are a thing of the past, just take a look on you tube!! My heart though says Brandon is our home, I have so so many happy memories of the place and the thought of leaving on that last night makes me feel sick already. Lets hope for a memorable last 3 seasons and I hope we have a party of all party's for its very last speedway meeting with greats re-united to celebrate a very very special stadium to so many.
  23. It's going to happen sooner or later and the stadium would get into a state of serious repair and tlc. However with the heart ruling the head Brandon is the home of the Bees and I really hope we stick it out as long as we can. I hope Mr Sandhu has put things in place to protect speedway as he said he would. Is he a man of his word and be remembered as the owner who gave us great teams in 2005, 2007 and 2010 to name a few or will he be remembered as the man who sold us down the river? I have my idea. I still can't see it being easy to get housing on a big scale on that land but what do I know. Fingers crossed for a positive statement from Sandhu or do we start the new season with yet again speedway taking a back seat.
