  1. Its funny how we all see things differently. Hans and Bjarne got themselves into situations they didn't have the ability to control the bike, Poor Pedersen's head was bouncing around all over the place so god knows what vision he had of the track. You want Chris Holder sacked !, this after Davey Watt. I think success has gone to people's heads down south !! Chris Holder who has had so many bad injuries on a track he wasn't happy with, he wasn't going to put himself where Hans and Bjarne did. He wanted to be in his own bed last night and not another hospital bed, Like it or not it's in his head about these injuries to him and Darcy and it wont go away. The bloke who has done so much for Poole speedway down the years, has had a nightmare 2/3 years and has fans like you calling for his head. Nice work
  2. Hi, I have seen a few scorecards available on Android but not on I-phone? am I looking in the wrong place? I have a blackberry playbook but can't seem to download speedway program so plan B was use my iPhone. Thanks in advance for any help and sorry if its already been asked.
  3. 50% is the track but 50% the ability to ride it. Strange no belle vue rider has fallen on their own.
  4. He should know better than being out there, his head was bouncing all over the place. Didn't have the skill to control the bike. Ex motocross riders going to be the key here.
  5. I have not seen anybody ride at Coventry the way AJ did in all but heat 13, that in itself was for me worth £17. The lines and speed he had was just another level to anybody else, should have snapped him up.
  6. Lakeside is a marmite track, it was always going to be a struggle without Garrity. It was good to read Woryna improved as he had more rides, it can't be easy as we noticed with Craig Cook to learn the best lines without running into the fence. An up and down night for most of the others but thinking Harris is looking at a PL place so is doing poor !! get real give him some respect. He has the ability to do very well in this league, unfortunately I think Chris has a lot on his plate with poor form, gp's , out of qualifiers, unhappy with certain things for both club and BSPA, no Poland or Sweden. I see no reason if a team wanted Harris in the PL why he couldn't do it, it would take a huge chunk of the teams average but would be a crowd puller, next year will Cook double up again if he can't get a ride in Poland ? Yes !!. These guys need to make a living, how can they survive on EL alone. They need a plan B and it's not a lack of ambition doubling up its earning money and paying bills.
  7. I didn't quite get what was said but was hoping somebody would put on here though. I thought the racing was good, we won and there was good passing. AJ is quite brilliant around Brandon, apart from heat 13 he was a class above and is a pleasure to watch.
  8. Good win for Swindon, I don't think many riders have had many laps. Maybe Max and he didn't ride, but yet again it's a reserve that's not a reserve that has done most the damage. Can they not hold there hands up and mid season make a change to this stupid rule. how many more weeks are we going to see 10+ points scored from that position meeting in, meeting out. Tungate to his credit did ride well against the Heat leaders but it makes it even more of a farce. Change the rule or the race format and unprotected the second string and reserves.
  9. I'm not interested in who earns what, my question is what promotion pay for Masters wages tonight?
  10. Just got back from a great meeting, like a broken record just look at the reserve scores. We all rode well and they had 2 riders going well and we only just won. Riders all riding in wrong team positions. Just a question about about reserve scoring huge points, are they on the same pay rate as they were in the main team and also who foots the wage bill for this? Does anybody know how it's worked out? Oh and a side note, why on earth were we back to 1 gate to get out, and the viewing area above the pits closed again, I didn't go to the Swindon meeting but I understand it was open then?
  11. I have just read that Stuart Robson is stepping in for Kyle Newman who is in hospital, this is not a dig at Poole it's just a question of how can they have him at reserve. I paid hard earned money to go to the wolves meeting when we were missing Sarjeant and he was replaced by Martin Knuckley. I am still sure we haven't heard why we did, who was asked? The reserves draft has been totally messed up, nobody will admit it and they have a huge mess with higher paid riders now earning big points and lower paid riders earning nothing and getting 3 rides, then back down to reserve and the cycle goes on. The 15 heats of speedway just get in the way of all the crazy rules, promoters trying to play the stupid rules, incompetent people making the rules. I really don't give a crap anymore, but don't mug the paying customer off. Without us there is no professional sport in this country, the fans are not happy with the current set up and rules and numbers will continue to drop until its financial ruin for many clubs. Friday showed how mugged off people with the sport. Coventry vs Poole has for the past 10 yrs been the meeting not to miss, yes it was a good meeting but it didn't have that something that has made it what it is over the years and the crowd was so poor. I have said before the win at all cost mentality only goes on for so long, there is far too much choice in sport/leisure these days. They move forward we go backwards. Integrity is a word lost in the sport and fans are voting with their feet. Why go to elite league speedway to see the weakest department have the biggest say on how a meeting sways. Never in my favourite era of the late 80's would I have been looking at David Clarke and Andy Hackett to win us meetings, they scored 3 or 4 points each on average and they did what it said on the tin. Reserves !!
  12. After a poor start a very good result, this reserve thing though is starting to get on my titts. Getting out the stadium was fun, great idea not to open the other gate, also anybody any idea why the viewing area above the pits was closed off?
  13. As a bees fan can I just say be very thankful and if it takes another few weeks then so what. We have a few meetings left and no plans in place, even the Swindon cock up is nothing compared to Coventry. We are looking for land to build a track on, while we sell land we own a track on 😁 if only Coventry/rugby council would help😇. It looks a great stadium and the track shape looks like you are going to have brilliant meetings to go to. What's happened wasn't ever planned, it's something that can be put right though and you have got a home and a great future. I'll be there for the British final and I can't wait, it's frustrating I know but you are in better shape than most. Your teams picking up points away so come September and the play offs there could well be a completely different feel what happened a few weeks back.
  14. With the future of the sport looking very gloomy I'd try and get anybody through the turnstile. I work at Coventry University and it's grown and grown over the past few years, the university is slowly taking over the city centre and will continue to grow. Coventry Blaze have some bits going on with the Uni and there is no reason why the Bees Can't. Maybe location is a problem with Brandon being so far from the city centre but what harm would some interaction with the the students be, flyers with fixtures on (then again , they just get cancelled with no explanation) Mr Sandhu is trying to get us a new stadium, yes we want to stay but it is what it is. Without him there is no future speedway so your opinion differs to mine in the fact that he pumped lots of his cash into riders and the stadium that helped towards our titles in 05,07 & 2010. Like I have said before he could sell and that's that, I just wish he could buy other land for houses and leave our site as it is.
  15. Maybe they should have changed the advert for the "next meeting at Brandon Stadium", it still advertising students at £5? I know its not funny but one statement says how poor the team is doing and we are very sorry and the next is basically telling some to come and pay even more now to come and watch them.
  16. What's the lad done wrong then? I think he has been good value to watch and you can see he will improve. He was never going to come in and score 7,8's and 9's in the few meetings he has done. He is going to many places for the first time and around Brandon he has looked ok and unlike others doesn't look like he is going to fall off the bike every bend. I think somebody needs to have a word about over celebrating a second or third place though ... Ha ha.
  17. We have had topics before where we mostly agree on what's not going right in the sport, we hope in vain that the powers above might listen but all the see is "keyboard warriors" who's opinion doesn't count. This stance goes on now year on year, the teams get further and further apart and more and more of us stop going. It's that simple !! Who are we?? Only the punters who they want through the turnstiles. Poole year on year put together a good team that you can't doubt but there attitude at win at all costs does make them a thorn in the side of many a fan(especially Coventry) Mr Sandhu walked away because of the way the sport is run, had he been given opportunity to put in what he wanted he would still be involved today and with the independent committee if I recall correctly that he suggested be put in place then I am sure we wouldn't be in the state we are today. We lose Brandon in a few months, where do the fans for the past 50-60 yrs plus go then, Coventry are one of the most supported teams in the country and we have no home to move in to. Leicester will be lucky to see the season out, Poole or Belle Vue will win the title. Season done and dusted. I just don't get where reserves score over 10 points? They are reserves, the weakest part of the team that should in theory be the lowest scorer not being a vital part in a team winning the title. How on earth do you explain this to a newcomer? The leagues need ripping apart, start again and have some direction. Football, Darts, Ice-hockey and Moto GP all going from strength to strength and we go backwards? what's the appeal to new and the old fans... Where have they all gone? It's like a trap door opened and we lost 3/4. I know people harp on about the old days but stadiums were full, British finals at Coventry were massive. I don't think all the attendances in the last 10 years put together would match the crowds you see on the footage.
  18. I think they are all trying their best but so far just falling short, I think the young pole is great to watch, Danny king or his inclusion is getting the brunt of the frustration unfairly. In my view the reserve pick is where the disaster has struck, Sill no word on why we ended up with an injured rider on Friday night who replaced Sarjent who probably isn't on the draft list. Where were the others? It's pittyful that we are in this position, not just the bees but this draft system is a complete balls up. Next winter Ellis, Newman, Worall to name a few have to come out of it or we do away with it. Reserves in theory should be the lowest scorers, we have had the benefit of Jason last year admittedly but reserves were never hitting double figures back when I first started going. I understand they are protected but it's a total mismatch team on team. Adam Ellis has scored 46+3 from his 5 meetings so far, not bad for a second tier reserve. Garrity making this move has stitched us right up, we all saw it and all said start at reserve and after a few weeks the chances are he'd be at 2 anyway but enabling a stronger reserve replacement. No offence to the pairing we have but we have been thumped so far 44+3. (Ellis scoring 11+1 of these) to 76+11. These are the reserves scores from 3 home and 2 away meetings so far. In heat 9 on Friday night we had Garrity and Bates vs Lindgren and Howarth? strength in depth !!
  19. Sound like a broken record but for these guys it's points mean prizes related. If you or I were paid on performance I know I wouldn't be going out to make the numbers up.
  20. Not what we wanted but kind of what we were expecting to be fair. We have well and truly got the team building so wrong, I think the main issue is that at this stage of the season we are seeing last years riders who struggled getting off to a flyer. Others teams just look stronger and we are much weaker than last season. Have good reserves and its game over, we just can't compete with Howarth, Newman, Ellis to name a few. Garrity has done the right thing for him but not for us unfortunately, we have been found out and it's a long way back. It will be interesting to see next winter what they do with the fast track reserves who blossom this year, it's there to bring them on but there is such a gap in ability it's scary. How on earth did Coventry not find a more suitable replacement tonight for Sarj? We pay good money and to put out a reserve that is already injured is poor, there was nobody on the draft list who was available ??? KK did struggle but that was due to bike issues, he was hard in heat 1 in the first bend and also put a fight in heat 13 so it's unfair to already point the finger. Most riders had 1 good ride and that says where we are, we have to carry the young pole at the moment and he is worth sticking with as he looks fast and steady on a bike, King tried so hard but for little reward. If we had Garrity and Sarj/Bares at reserve it wouldn't be so bad and would balance the team somewhat but it's not going to happen so we just have to support what we have. Poole and Belle Vue are way ahead of the rest and Wolves are due an ok season after a few shockers. Not the way we wanted to have our last season at Brandon but some good races tonight, still early days but even by our standards this is going to take some turnaround to make the top 4.
  21. I think its a great idea if periscope or such idea was used. As its been said previously Pete from Clean Cut Sports is very much the person in the know about setting these up as he has for a good while with the ice hockey. How many people subscribe is another matter but where sky can't make it and its available I cant imagine it effecting people who go regular anyway. I doubt its as easy as it looks and you wouldn't want to be paying for someone trying to stream a race from ground level and it all blurring past you. Done right this could be a really good way for people to watch meetings they just cant get to but the powers that currently hold the contract will not want to know. It could bring extra revenue and exposure to all clubs. Its not like they are daft enough not to think how many people watch sky sports through streaming websites anyhow that is free !! Riders are the worst asking for links
