  1. that's what i was looking at M7 not start finish line at all! thanks
  2. has anyone got there tick from the weekend and can check the seating for me. was just about to book M7 as it states "start/finish/middle tier" on the website, however i think that's near the first corner, can someone confirm? dont want to pay a premium and end up not where i expected!
  3. so you stand opposite speakers and then complain its loud? its like standing next to the sea and complaining you get wet!
  4. cant hear a thing in the bar at brandon, which is fine as we don't have to listen to yorkie! the sound has needed sorted for years, they are not going to fix it now. i wonder is it the level or the fact that you dont play perry como?
  5. can we clone pedersson he is great Tv! better than the measurable Aussies, the panto villan is back about time too!
  6. now we are talking techy this is my subject! the idea that an optical 3G/4G network would delay the service by 60/90 seconds is just not correct. any significant delay, and by that im talking above milliseconds, will be due to the company processing the data, not the delivery at all, so if its going to be a raw stream, and i guess it would and wouldn't expect more than a couple of seconds. as it has been stated this latency would have to be confirmed before any betting agency agreed to it, or as you say we can all get the correct result this time next year we will be millionaires rodney
  7. issue will be around average manipulation, you just wont be able to do it, i forsee trouble times ahead
  8. i agree totally, there was a time (not too long ago) when i took three kids to coventry, now they are all over 16, they dont go. the best part of £70 and then drink, id get no change from £100. need at the very least a family ticket. yes i can afford it but i choose not to because the product isnt worth that at the moment
  9. i too share the concern that they are just being used. they will have 2 heats between themselves effective 2 heats of NL racing, not a problem. Having watched a few NL meetings the gap is huge, the last thing we wont is these guys dropping half a lap behind..
  10. what worries me is the "allocated" NL riders, straight away thats open to abuse, should be a straight forward draw.
  11. so poole could probably just squeeze in ward and holder but would need FIVE three point riders in the team, makes you realize the extent of the cost cutting
  12. a 15% increase in riders averages? that means 38.50 is false and in reality its 33.5 based on this years EL averages.
  13. i might be wrong ( and probably am!) but i dont think there is a great cross over between the two sports? i take your point about having then to choose, but the the potential improvement from other areas of the population could be significant. the example i would give is if Cardiff was on a Wednesday night, how many of the 40,000 would turn up?
  14. just a quick question, mid week meetings are difficult for most people with a job and with kids at school. weekend evenings have alot of things to do besides go to speedway where the setup is poor.. Why cant speedway be run during the day 3pm at weekends just like football? 1) The bus/transport links are working fine 2) No school in the morning 3) No work in the morning 4) The "old" can get back home to watch "striclty come dancing" 5) The middle aged can get down the pub/relax 6) teenagers can go down town meet friends etc isnt this why football works so well, an excuse not to go shopping?
  15. he does come across well i think, apart from the god awful tattoos and take your hat of young man, its not going to rain! its just nice to be able to be proud of UK speedway for a change rather than the constant going on and dodgy deals being done in the elite, which just makes you depressed.
  16. is it really a lost oppurtunity? where has the money gone? to GSI and to riders who spend it on top tuned engines. the grass routes has seen none of this cash. what is the point of having 1 or 2 GP riders in the league, all it does is show up how bad the rest of the riders are. no GP riders next year no sky a watered down product that keeps going for most of use into october? The reality is that Poole cant afford that team from gate recipts, so you need to cut down to what each track can actually afford. The only think sky has done is help start the GP series which has been the downfall of league speedway. No sky, then each home team can start a streaming service of there own?
  17. there are many reasons i cant attend brandon on all the firday nights, normally family issues and holidays. so i am lost to these meetings. If i could pay £5 to watch a stream whilst on holiday/stuck at home with the kids i would do so, this is a an increase in revenue not a reduction. As for the sky coverage, if i wanted to watch Poole every week id be a Poole fan, i am not and therefore do not subscribe/watch sky.
  18. thats the point thou, that is correct and you can transmit there branding. but if you did your own internet streaming then thats not an issue is it?
  19. they have no right to stop live streaming, the European court has ruled over football that SKY do not own the right to any live footage, you cant copyright live stuff, they have the rights to the commentary/production. Clubs can put there own cameras internet streaming and there is nothing GSI/SKY can do about it.
  20. to be fair on the rules they have been designed to be full of holes, it needs a complete review and wouldnt take long. they remind me of windows XP, patched and patched after new holes have been found. i dont see why the rules have to change every year. the team building limit quite clealy should change and is up to the promoters dont have a problem with that and regarding the machinery what is or isnt allowed, but appart from that the core 95% should never need to be changed
  21. dont think you can at coventry? cash machine is always dead too:(
  22. i watch the gp's for star riders and now accept that the leagues don't need them. i say that deliberately as what entertainment do we get from seeing these guys clear off at the front? but the elite teams would have to do what the majority want, Coventry i think have already in this mode but can you see the likes of matt ford accepting this? mind you he will be gone in a second, which is no bad thing either. regarding the issue for the "good British" riders, this will only be a problem for one year. any EL rider over 7.20 will have to marked as a 12 point average for the first year....... if they want to ride in the league. after that they will gain a "normal" average. .
  23. thank you euro sport! £2.99 per month of the player system, great to hear tatum and great not to have to pay for sky football. plus i have already been discussing the coverage with big motogp fans who watched it for the first time, so its actually getting to the correct audience rather than the football crowd, who think biting and kicking a pigs bladder around is entertainment! much better than sky and will i think benefit speedway in the long term, we are a small sport and need to be advertised to the correct people
  24. have you seen the state of the toilets? how most are not condemed i have no idea, the point being people are used to shopping malls and nice football stadiums, they then come to essentially a farmers field with a whole in the ground for a bog!
  25. i think this has come down to we are a "family sport" and we don't want to change that! well thats a proud boast, but have to say dont see much evidence of that at all. which mum would let there children into a filthy stadium? even the best are pretty rubbish. the reality here is that speedway is no longer a family sport, for example i used to go with three kids and the wife, now they are all teenagers, so thats £85 entrance for 15 minutes entertainment. when you then consider the sub rate teams we now have, its just not value for money, so lets get away from the family sport myth. the facilities are poor the food is generally terrible the views at most tracks are not children friendly. the price needs to come down considerably to attract family's at the moment, so you need family tickets, just like you get at the cinema, 2 adults 2 kids £35. also what winds me up is having to stop and get cash to get into the stadium, so i totally agree we need to make the sport family friendly again. i mentioned betting earlier (i am not a fan, dont even do the lottery) but to completely remove that revenue stream away from the clubs seems a no brainier to me also the comments on "we don't want children around betting" shows that people have no idea of the environment children grow up in these days, betting is the least of the problems. personally for the meetings i cant make i would like an internet streamed service, quite happy to pay £3 to watch a home match on the internet, possible this could encourage at least "remote fans". this does not affect the sky money, before anyone says so. after the recent court case, you cannot own the rights to a live event, sky effectively can only "own" the commentary. so it would be perfectly legal to have home meetings streamed on the net.
