  1. because we were not there perhaps and cant comment!
  2. agree with the statement except the bit about the points, in the playoffs they will be irrelevant anyway
  3. the go speed statement asking 48 hours if it should be postponed , if true (?) confirms that it couldnt be postponed on the day because of sky. the disturbing thing for me is that the track is prepared not by the home guys but by go speed/sky team. If you find the tweet from Harris and the picture of the track "looking good" was his phrase and then compare it with the track that was there at 7pm, all the top layer had been removed and the starts had been completely ripped up, essentially destroying any home advantage, so what is the point, so we can get to ten heats. This is the real scandal ignoring all the handbags. so unless your track is normally bald as a coot (poole) essentially SKY can determine if you have a home advantage or not, which is not right its all about home advantage, take that away and it becomes farcical
  4. problems is "deemed to be fit by the powers" actually means SKY TV, the ref has no power on the matter when sky is in town. i am not justifying coventrys actions clearly dummys were being thrown out, just the fact that it started knowing it was only going ten heats which means me as a paying punter no one gives a S*&t about me
  5. it was raining before heat 1! in your world do you ever look outside and look up at the clouds and the wind and rain and think "you know what its going to get wet" or do you sit in the armchair with a nice fire and think "its not raining here" The pictures do not show how bad the weather was. the point of this as someone who went and through loyalty to the sport still went in knowing i was getting mugged off, it wont be happening again!
  6. sorry i was told at the gate that it was going to be ten heats, but i still went in! the track looked woeful. the last point the track is set up by the SKY team for the TV and not done locally.
  7. as someone else who threw his £18 in the gutter, not an armchair fan, the life blood of the sport, first off, i totally agree with game ons three points above however... It was VERY obvious this was going to be a ten heat meeting from the off, so as a paying public: It should never have started, im already being ripped off, second there is no good complaining about the track when you are losing and KNOW it was going to be ten heats. Why do Sky set the track up?, it had been completely ripped up to provide no home advantage, the start gate was shockingly bad even before the start. the bigger issue is if the ref or the team has no control over the event then we need to pull out of the SKY contract. a complete farce but also not very happy with the way the coventry team approached it either. No blame can be put on Poole for this, no matter how much we would like to blame them!
  8. so this track is far worse than warsaw, but they are still riding!
  9. a number of riders clearly were not happy with the track. it is however difficult to know the truth as these were also riders carrying injuries and did not want to make that worse at the start of the season. I think its clear that a full medical now has to take place before they are allowed to race, i sorry but they cant have it both ways. AJ, pulled out because of an injury bachelor clearly wasn't fit, so should have been ruled out Holder, is understandable nervous after numerous bad crashes, but again you know what you take on in the Gp's so unless you are fully fit you shouldnt be allowed near the track. just wonder if they would have been so quick to rule the track unsafe, if it was Melbourne and the title on the line? i think not im not excusing the complete farce of the rest of it, we have come to expect it! cardiff a couple of years ago nearly got called off, for poor track, again they raced so what is the difference? so any rider who is having a bad GP can now blame the track and get it stopped, why would cardiff be any different?
  10. interestring now after a nght sleep, its the riders are being questioned now. lets be frank the whole thing was a shambles, but that includes the riders attitide too! we have all seen worse its a one of track what did they expect? has this now set the precident? certainly already thinking twice about cardiff, because it always has ruts
  11. think its more to do with the takings for drink and food than having a pee!
  12. it was great to see PK at his best. but apart from four heats 1/9/10/11 wolves were not up to much. disappointed in Lindgren giving the ref the finger, it wasnt his fault that he came off the bike with no one near him was it!
  13. im sure we went round this loop last year and if i remember tight you cant have a guest for a rider that has not made an appearance, with robbo out just as well jamroll made his farewell/first appearance last week. mind you if we cant beat this wolves team we should pack up and go home..... famous ;last words
  14. all the on track nonsense is one think, but jumping into the crowd is quite another... i suspect this will be the issue. its just not acceptable behaviour and very dangerous, he should get a ban for that alone.
  15. sorry you cant blame the ref for throwing punches! problem is for Monday, should there pit crews be allowed in certainly not! its not every day a race gets stopped for "dirty riding" says an lot about his attitude. still look forward to Monday now
  16. you have five rides to score as many points as possible, how is this unfair? the rider you mention either are not good enough under pressure of the night or had an off night either way it was fair, kildermann as great as he is, is millimetres away from being the new pederson, he is very aggressive, great to watch but a little more and it will become "dirty".
  17. if you take the in fighting between the leagues away, all the products are not good lets be honest! to halt the decline, the first thing is that you need to stabilize the situation, so that no more teams go under. This has to mean a wage structure, based on the average attendance and 90 points a match. If this means the bigger riders cant be afforded, so be it, its just die hard fans left, so will have a minimal impact. i get no pleasure in seeing a top rider half a lap ahead, its pointless. The next phase, is to be blunt ignoring all the recommendations on here because everyone has a vested interest, how to get YOUNG new fans through the gates and families, it is no longer a family sport due to the high cots of entry. The question is what do young/families want? as the average age i would suggest is at least 50+ at meetings, we need someone to answer that my kids no longer come because: its too expensive its too boring, nothing happens and when it does it from the gate the facilities are appalling, and here's the rub, they do not want to be surrounded by old people! because how un hip is that? i know the question about a single night always comes up, and not surprisingly those who suggest a night, normally its there normal night and no longer work! The last time i suggested it should be a weekend because of schools, i was rounded on "late nights will do kids no harm" which isnt the point, if the families believe that too be the case, that's all that matters. why cant it be at the weekend, like most sports and during the day? why does it have to be at night? Clearly it needs to be slicker presentation, all the delays farting around need to stop. Three hours for 15 minutes racing how boring is that. but the key question in my mind is what has to happen to encourage new supporters? clearly we cannot answer that and some of the analysis might be un comfortable for many on here
  18. except Micheal became world champion, darcy just complete waister
  19. actually i do. i have not seen poole since 2010 and have no intention of seeing them again.
  20. so i assume you are a professor at NASA then? or did you aim lower?
  21. why not Saturday afternoon? most sports do this how much cross over between football/speedway fans is there? if many people complain about the speedway entrance fee, then i would guess they couldn't afford football which is much more expensive. this is where research into the speedway population needs to be done and fast
  22. sorry yes it does one night a week, 20% of the school term tired, great idea no i am not a teacher! if your happy for them to underachieve then crack on
  23. really? apart from the premership? all the other leagues have a massive reduction
  24. remember when Coventry ran for one season on a Thursday? crowds more than halved. if it was to be one night it would need to be a Friday or a Saturday, so that children who go to school can go! no way meetings ending at 10pm that i would take the kids mid week. and if kids cant go then were up the creek anyway how many tracks can run on those nights? any other night and your just making it worse IMO
  25. i was in M11 when bomber won, great surrounded by poole fans even better!
