  1. indeed when he came to speedway he was "the posh one from a fee paying school" remember it well! and used to get lots of stick about it too!
  2. 250 000 watch cardiff 45 000 go pretty much 300 000, around 35 000 active supporters, we make up 12% of cardiff. proving that sky hold the whip hand, if they want 2 brits in, they get 2 brits in!
  3. you should check out the viewwing figures then, becauses the number of people watching the gp's is large. if all these people went to there local tracks ther would be no problems with the sport. at best i would say there are 40 000 active speedway supporters in this country.
  4. clear4ly for tv and advertising there needs to be 2 brits in the gp's . in truth no brit is good enough to be in ther gp's but to have the cardiff screened on tv with 1 wild card brit would be a publicity disaster. nobody cares what we think because we go to the tracks. so if there has to be 2 brits who would you choose? scott? not interested lee? not interested who else? the cupboard is extremely bear it doesnt take much to release that bomber and tai the only real choices. I feel sorry for Tai this is too early for him. unless the young brits grasp the nettle bomber will always get the call because what realistiic alternatives are there? the world final has NEVER been about the best 16 riders in the world, it has always been fixed to allow poor countries get a representative. remember the semi finals ? one packed full of eatsern block riders who just made the numbers up? all that has changed is that WE are now the estern block! what comes around goes around and id rather have 2 underperforming brits to support than joe a to z from another country. i suspect sky would take this view also, the non speedway fan who watches the gp's would stop watching them if there are o brits.
  5. ward and woffiden would indeed transfor the gp's the first riders to be excluded for being lapped pserhaps?
  6. "Harris, meanwhile, enhanced his case for a permanent wild-card in 2010 by scoring 10 points in the qualifying, a tally that embraced passing Sayfutdinov for second place in Heat 9." taken from speedwaygp website permanant wild card? thats a new one also heared that lindback didnt turn up at the gp challenge because his been told his got a place. its all aboput what faces will sell seats and tv, nothing to do with the best
  7. i know rico has had a good season, but the mans got zero bottle, his just not good enough either! putting the youngesters in is a big mistake as well. out of the top 8 perhasp leigh and greg could give up?. personally i dont want bomber in next season, but relistically he is the best brit we have by a long way, so to not completely de value the series it would have to be him. at least he got to the final of the gp challenge and came 5th, no other brit even got neear the final, so if bomber cant make how many points would tai get? feel it would be way to early for him and do him no go!
  8. this must mean we standf very close together.. if when the 60+ bouncer came over to the pole and was greater with "hit him" and he did a bow, im sorry to say that was me!
  9. i have a different idea. the gp should have 24 riders. the saturday before(or the friday rather than a practice) the bottom 16 race for top 8 positions, to get into the gp, joing ther top 8 from previous gp if you then fail to get into the last 8 you have to go the qualifing round, only the top 8 are guaeteed to be in the next gp, you would then have lots of movement and new faces.
  10. not saying it was a good meeting. in the old days once they were stood up after a crash, pretty much the 2 minute warning came on. delaying the meeting for 20 minutes because zorro had "run out of bikes" is not really on, he should have brought more?. its the riders fault, the slightest delay and ther off the track eating a cheese sandwich! if its all 4 back then the pit gate shouldnt be opened! when you looked at the top riders last night you could see who was set up and who wasnt no track would have changed that. the delays are becoming a real pain, even 15 heats seem to take at least 2 half hours these days, it just takes too long. this needs to be looked at imo it all just drags
  11. problem with that is coventry is the only UK track (other than cardiff) that holds the correct licence! and you would have never got that crowd into any other uk track either. i think thers so many crashes because riders have fast bikes but not the ability, it did make you reliase how low the level in the elite legue is zorro deserved it, didnt too much appart from get whacked, but theres a lesson there for mr harris if he could be bothered to learn it! the best english rider by a mile at the moment could only manage 10 points at home, lets not pretend that tai/scott and all the others would have got more points because they wouldnt have. it should have been at poole, lots of foreign riders and a underperforming brit, pretty much standard fair for poole!
  12. its not zorros fault is it, the so called pretenders are np good id it? best thing for harris to get out of the circus his not gp standard and never will till he can gate and his pit team can work out track conditions. i enjoyed it myself especially the drunken poles, but living locally and getting home at midnight is not good!
  13. i used to have sky last year, but got sick mof paying all that money per month just to go to football. now i get the gp's via a polish web site, is this dishonest? probably but you cant stop technology. i now spend zero money on sky saving lots of cash and as a result i go to more home bees meetings, isnt that a better use of my cash? to support the day to team rather than the circus?
  14. whos the free loaders her? someone who goes to his track pays £15 or the equivalent for 40 years? or someone who pays for a sports package at most £1 a month goes to speedway, but in the process beggar your local track.
  15. what you need is a docking station with a 32 inch screen, just like th tv! and at least we get to see that hot polish presenter!
  16. niki pederson gotta love him "i stood no chance with a polish ref" you stood no chance my son with any ref even ole olsen... well maybe!
  17. anyone who says gaters paradise should hang there heads!!!!! next heat the finish will be red blue white yellow! again! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz still at least my polish is coming along there talking about coventry but thats all i can understand tak tak
  18. just making the point that it isnt that far off el standard cost thats all! just because we dont know these riders does not mean thjat they couldnt easily get a place in an el team
  19. £15 for 15 el heats, 3 heats of which are littlke more than old second half riders 2,8,14. £15 for 12 meanigful races. £1.20 a race 20 heats no duffers £25 seems about the same as above really! so the val;ue imo is about the same, why bother witha programme we can all download the things anyway!
  20. harris could barley keep on the same lap as crump even at coventry, so dirt and home track advantage still couldnt get within six miles of him!
  21. i suspect the problem is drainage? you can keep the rain off the track but it will just go to the inside, so unless you have a good drainage system you just move the water around! starting to pick up a bit of polish now listening to there commentary, who is the hot chick that presents the show? sorry i mean young lady!
  22. good is indeed relative, last 10 heats slovian 8 points team gb 10 points. yes they were better than last year, but then that means nothing. i say a great entertaining night fantatstic racing, but lets not paper of the cracks, we are at best 6th in the speedway world now, bottom of the second tier, just like last year.
  23. a geat night of speedway, but lets take a reality check here. GB were extremely entertaining, but were they any good? err no! after heat 15 virtually picked up no points except against the slovians. take away for guaranteed third places and what are you left with? eddie of the pace beat no one tai off the pace beat no one bomber 1 good ride lewis 1 good ride danny king 2 good rides thats it 4 good heats out of 25, the odds that we will get into double figures in the playoff are not good. fantastic night thou!
  24. the craven sheild formila with three teams, 3 qualifiers, whoever wins go to the final, teams to be seeded. 6 man teams and team ridding simple! you would need 9 countries
  25. so in your opinion is perfectly ok to verbally abuse but not physically? think you are a somewhat mixed up person then! scott just wanted to get back to the pits was stopped in doing so by emil ridding across him, but apprently thats ok? i do agree something not right with scott and his two late appreances for the bees not good either.
