so to quote mr Appleby, you should have written CGSM at the bottom?

the latest article now says they are closing in on the second site... its all B**Ks. they are trying to put pressure on ACL who own the ricoh, by saying look we are buying Brandon, they quickly get caught out and changed to plan B which is the old Peugeot site. no one believes a word they say.

sisu dont give a s**t steve, 7000 march in the city centre for the football but they dont care. sandhu has now got into bed with the devil, i hope they drg him down
-
technically coventry is in warwickshire, even if they cont dont want the city, hence why it was "cut out" and loops round the north. all the power would have to go from Warwick to Coventry and that could never happen hence why coventry got put into the west midlands!
-
for such a small shire, it sure has enough "public servants" as the weather is good i expect a strike over something to be announced soon! been going to the old mill at baginton on & off for 30 years.... i wont eat there thou, the kitchens are now where the toilets used to be!
-
yes it right on the boundary but rugby it is. Dont forget that the "roundabout of death" otherwise known as toll bar island gets ripped up next march for an underpass, plus the airport land itself has recently been approved for a development by Warwick council, which is all in the same area

dont think you can at coventry? cash machine is always dead too:(
-
12 500 for the last safety audit apparently a football pitch will not fit into the centre so if they did buy it its goodbye brandon .
-
BUT it doesn't stop them knocking it down does it?
-
seen this too if sandhu sells to SISU then unfortunatley matt Ford would have been correct all along. if this goes through then quite possible the last season at brandon

Conspiracy Theory (sky Meetings)
philfromcov replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
i watch the gp's for star riders and now accept that the leagues don't need them. i say that deliberately as what entertainment do we get from seeing these guys clear off at the front? but the elite teams would have to do what the majority want, Coventry i think have already in this mode but can you see the likes of matt ford accepting this? mind you he will be gone in a second, which is no bad thing either. regarding the issue for the "good British" riders, this will only be a problem for one year. any EL rider over 7.20 will have to marked as a 12 point average for the first year....... if they want to ride in the league. after that they will gain a "normal" average. . -
who works for SISU! you couldnt make it up

this has been bubbling for a number of months on CCFC forums and was kicked off when it was suggested that Sandhu but CCFC. its all posturing, no one even knows who owns the club anyone let alone, build a new stadium. There are a number of football league rules around re locating a team, specifically it has to be in the same metropolitan area ( to stop Wimbledon moving to milton keynes), brandon is in Warwickshire under rugby Council not Coventry. as has been mentioned many times it is green belt and the planning restrictions are very severe, the local shop had to switch off there illuminated board. The biggest issue has always been the road itself, which even for houses would need to be completely re developed, so realistically thats more money than SISU have. im not going to say never, but very unlikely.... worst case is that they buy the land bulldoze everything down and then will be refused planning..

Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 29/4/2013
philfromcov replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
this has been caused by the rolling averages, which was a knee jerk reaction to coventry in 2010. take away the rolling averages and hey prestos teams can re build! between kaspazak and nicholls they have lost 3 average points, taking the fact that we are already 1 point under, then we could easily strengthen up IF there are riders willing to come to the Uk. The reality is that very few top riders want to come here anymore and unless your team can get rules changed at a whim will only be here one season. -

thank you euro sport! £2.99 per month of the player system, great to hear tatum and great not to have to pay for sky football. plus i have already been discussing the coverage with big motogp fans who watched it for the first time, so its actually getting to the correct audience rather than the football crowd, who think biting and kicking a pigs bladder around is entertainment! much better than sky and will i think benefit speedway in the long term, we are a small sport and need to be advertised to the correct people -
i think this has come down to we are a "family sport" and we don't want to change that! well thats a proud boast, but have to say dont see much evidence of that at all. which mum would let there children into a filthy stadium? even the best are pretty rubbish. the reality here is that speedway is no longer a family sport, for example i used to go with three kids and the wife, now they are all teenagers, so thats £85 entrance for 15 minutes entertainment. when you then consider the sub rate teams we now have, its just not value for money, so lets get away from the family sport myth. the facilities are poor the food is generally terrible the views at most tracks are not children friendly. the price needs to come down considerably to attract family's at the moment, so you need family tickets, just like you get at the cinema, 2 adults 2 kids £35. also what winds me up is having to stop and get cash to get into the stadium, so i totally agree we need to make the sport family friendly again. i mentioned betting earlier (i am not a fan, dont even do the lottery) but to completely remove that revenue stream away from the clubs seems a no brainier to me also the comments on "we don't want children around betting" shows that people have no idea of the environment children grow up in these days, betting is the least of the problems. personally for the meetings i cant make i would like an internet streamed service, quite happy to pay £3 to watch a home match on the internet, possible this could encourage at least "remote fans". this does not affect the sky money, before anyone says so. after the recent court case, you cannot own the rights to a live event, sky effectively can only "own" the commentary. so it would be perfectly legal to have home meetings streamed on the net.
-
so to attract the 11-16 age group, i think you need to embrace what a teenager wants.. Something cheap, it goes without saying, short concentration, which shouldn't be a problem, but is when 15 minutes takes 3 hours! midweek tracks must finish much ealier, always struggled with my three waking up dead tired for school, doesnt go down well, so should finish no latter than 9pm. so the messing around should be reduced. once the pit door is closed that's it, no going back, 30 seconds back for tapes. i always struggled when a teenager to go to the speedway and go out at the weekend, just a question why cant meetings be during the day at the weekends? i would say no teenagers would want to be seen next to "bobble hat train spotters", neither do i come to that, so perhaps a reduced price for a "teenage/student" area, so that when they take facebook photos they are not surrounded by pensioners! entrance price to include a burger and coke? dare i say the betting word? at track betting only? seems like a disease of adverts for betting apps at the moment, perhaps to survive speedway has to bite the bullet?
-
that rule to be fair has been around for decades, i remember when hancock and hamill got tapped up by oxford. they wouldn't talk to coventry. in the end we had to name a 1 to 7, at which point wagstaff demanded a loan and Coventry couldnt refuse!

so you really think that an article mentioning visa problems two days before he is convicted has nothing to do with each other... you dont think one of the first checks is to ask the Australian authorities if they have any information on the candidate? wake up -

the beauty of one of the few cash based business left! next stop the casino -
if the asset system collapses, lets say because of restraint of trade, then just like football, you would need a mid season transfer window, so if a riders on a 4.oo but his next GSA lets say will be 6.00, surley you cannot then stop another team coming along and offering that rider a better deal? im guessing there would be a months /weeks notice at the moment, which would have to work both ways as the riders will be fully contracted, both sides would be able to terminate contract, so you would see alot of riders moving around mid season?
-
a simple question.... do they have to sign for a team (to become an asset that is) or can they remain "free"

not seen him pulling pints at the binley park for a bit, does he not work there any more? looking at the dates i suspect i may be at the N:L more than the EL next season
