  1. they only dont work because birmingham dont pay! non of those issues were coventrys making
  2. i too share the concern that they are just being used. they will have 2 heats between themselves effective 2 heats of NL racing, not a problem. Having watched a few NL meetings the gap is huge, the last thing we wont is these guys dropping half a lap behind..
  3. what worries me is the "allocated" NL riders, straight away thats open to abuse, should be a straight forward draw.
  4. as speedway is all about numbers then you could run a team with a 45 point limit against a team 38. the team on 38 gets an 8 point start, and cannot be used for taticals and no double points, back to the old tacticals. that way each team can run a team they can afford but still run in the same league.
  5. so poole could probably just squeeze in ward and holder but would need FIVE three point riders in the team, makes you realize the extent of the cost cutting
  6. a 15% increase in riders averages? that means 38.50 is false and in reality its 33.5 based on this years EL averages.
  7. well theirs the rub, which team are going to agree loan deals with Birmingham after last season? they basically couldn't pay there way and upset numerous teams (not just coventry) on default of payments. certainly most clubs would want money up front, so perhaps the PL beckons?
  8. they have over 2 million subscribers since the start of this seasons football, so yes they will! interesting that BT have out bid sky, does point to sky over extending themselves on football and F1. at the end of the day they have to fill the sir time with something, its just a shame the EL speedway product is so rubbish. even fans have turned off so what chance is there really? regarding sky in Brittany/Normandy. yes its easy to get ( i have had it in the past) either by just moving your equipment across, but there are also companies in that area specializing in installing sky, i assume legally?
  9. Depending o the many calculations on here its reasonable to assume that at a minimum Poole were getting twice the money from SKY as most teams and could be as much as three times. The issue around bees strengthening, i would like to know (because we all knew the team was a shocker in april) could we not change the team, because either we were running to a strict budget or that the budget was much smaller than anticipated because teams like Birmingham hadn't paid a) transfer fee loan fee c)the agreed proportion of the away teams wages? Certainly you wouldn't want to do business with Birmingham again, unless you get money up front
  10. the cost or lack of is directly proportional to the sky money, hence why it is on the thread. if sky is lost it will not have a great effect on us as poole, thats the point, why do you think they can afford greg hancock and we cant? are crowds are bigger
  11. so using the 7 meetings at home out of 27. Half the available funds is split between the teams, so £40k each. then 7/27 is 26% of the compensation funds. so if you do the maths (i do apologize i was slightly out earlier) Poole received 18% of the sky money. we can get back to the bees now i think the point has been proved me lord!
  12. thats as balanced as it gets and me being polite! Poole have a very fickle fan base the club is not as stromg as people think, the sub 800 that turned up to a home meeting against lakesdie is the true core, the rest are just pot hunters, ford knows this and does eveyting he can inside/outside the rules to keep things going
  13. ok fine but it is reasonable to assume that Poole get between 25/30% of all the sky money. from that i take it you agree with all the other points! :0
  14. i would just like it put it on record that i am 1000% anti poole, lets not beat about the bush. That promotion has dragged the elite league through the mud over the last 5 years and i suspect are largely responsible for the decline, when out and out cheating is so obvious people turn away. I can say that since 2010 i have not watched a single second of any meeting to do with poole. i do not attend home meetings when they are around and i certainly do not watch them on sky.Poole are more concerned about sky than anyone else as they get the lions share of the money. I understand that the sky money is split 50/50 so each team get £50k and then a proportion of the pot depending if your on TV, Its more than likely as every TV event had a boring poole match that of the rumoured £1million per year from sky, poole will get between £250/£300K of that sum. As for sll voting for change, each winter Matt ford buys more "votes" sorry bricks for belle vue, the latest one being a cap on the pounds per points each club can pay, sounds sensible, until you realize that the ex world champion isnt actually paid by the club, but paid by a sponsor, so much for an even playing field again
  15. as an ex resident of binley woods and married to a civil engineer, i think i mentioned it would never happen because of access, thats must have been known by them 5 months ago but just kept the story going!
  16. is the problem of announcing signings early, gives BSPooleA a chance to change the rules. just like when we signed all the brits and hey presto the brit reduction was removed, spouting EU law which was total B888ks, then no riders over 8 points which again affected us only. but hey next year as poole had two riders it was dropped as the "strength of the league was now much deeper". i do fear what they will do to hansens average raise it to 7 and then change polish assessed riders back to 4 so that poole can sign ringers all season.
  17. as far as im aware no one is trying to change his average just a rumour coming from other teams i suspect! if poole had signed him he would be on 4.00 no questions asked!
  18. the figure i have heard for hansen is 5.83 allen wont last more than 2 meetings he comes RR summers is pants away from barndon robbo, eveyone likes him, but he is not the answer we are looking at most 38 maybe 36 for team building...
  19. hmm name one top gp rider that wouldnt out trap anyone in the EL next season. ideally every team should have one, or no one should, dont think we can afford them now anyway
  20. 5.83 ive heared no stuart robson no summers no ollie allen
  21. i have to say i dont agree, woffy maybe, what entertainment is there in seeing a rider clear off half a lap in front? non what so ever. just makes the rest look bad, but no doubt a new rule will appear allowing them to remain in poole colurs
  22. they are talking about a 36 or 38 point limit, if thats the case a strong number one, will be no good, too top heavy i think, remember belle vue with jason crump, scored 21 points at brandon, the whole team got 37 if you can get 2 bug hitters like poole have over the years thats much different, but just one, equates to a 3-3 in the heats they are in.
  23. who says the fans don't want the KOC? for the majority of teams the season ends first week of September, losing potentially up to 7 home meetings. im guessing they ditched KOC/craven shield to stem the losses. we lost most of the summer due to gp/world cups and we are forced to cram home meetings in either side, which isnt good. league meetings should not be cancelled due to GP's, its then your choice if you want a star in, but the majority of teams can then run un interrupted season.
  24. yes the limit of 38 is being spouted alot, which is a significant reduction in quality, that team is 4.5 over, you would need to replace one of those heat leaders with another 3 point rider!
