there is no point trying to stop the development, all it does is burn valuable time looking for a new location. and that's my biggest concern, i cant see anywhere that would accept a new stadium. the three years is i suspect as long as you go quietly, thats why there is such a positive spin coming out of Brandon. i know to build a track/stadium wouldnt take long but the issue would be three years is nothing to find a plot of land. as an ex binley woods resident and someone who lived on the rugby road, i know what resistance there will be, but ultimately will fail. the big question that needs answering this summer is the new location. if the stox are moving too then that narrows down the options significantly, because they make a massive amount of noise, and then the dogs moving too, means the plot of land needs to be even bigger. having lived in the area all my life i cannot see where it would go and be accepted by locals.
-
no point anyway, i thought sandhu owned this as going to be kennels for the dogs. however if the land gets a change of use for housing then the plot across the road wont last too long either
-
thats made a massive difference for the 12 000 who no longer go to CCFC matches... not
-
its all very well them having a laugh about it on the radio... either they know something we don't or they are incredible naive. yes we know the place is old and yes its way too big, but moving from a "proper" stadium to a farmers field is not something i look forward too!
-
“Sandhu is a man of his word and he guaranteed that we have those three years, so really the hard work for me starts now in terms of finding a new home" problem is he has sold the land so has no control over it once the ink is dry
-
i think the biggest shock for everyone is that we have gone from the stadium up for sale, no news, to a press release saying we have three years left and if you know of a plot of land let us know..... which implies they haven't been looking at all... meanwhile more coventry money is spent on buying assets, who are them immediately loaned to Pboro.... we can all read from that what is expected to happen!
-
i wouldn't count on politicians, there is an election coming, watch them run a mile from this hot potato! the ansty site will be for expanding the business park, too close the the motorway making it expensive.
-
i suspect the y will knock it down and then sit on it and wait for the permission to change, expect that to happen winter 2014, this is how thee property world works. sandhu has to sell, therefore it stands to reason that all of the £1miilion wont be his?, what is left. i will enjoy this season, but think that will be it. only possible solution is the developers have to build a ground to get us out, but then guess what, they wont find the land either. whichever way you look at it it is game over im affraid

3 years is nothing just ask cradley fans. what is said is that they are going demolish the stadium despite the fact that planning regulations haven't changed. they will sit on a pile of rubble into rugby council change the land. then where to go? and who can afford the land? rugby council will never agree to another site, too may well paid people the nearer its gets to rugby,so then you are left with north, south, west of coventry. south will never happen, that's "true" Warwickshire, anywhere near Kenilworth dont think so! then its real Shakespeare land and anyway too close to m40, the land becomes expensive. west?, meriden? again that's just not going to happen, so then you are left with North... ie Bedworth area, just like the football club are looking. i honest just cant see a site being found, sorry to sound so depressed but Coventry is ringed with nimbies villages and lets be honest why should they? one possible option ground share with the rugby club? but assuming the stox move that wont happen either way to loud. i suspect the plan all along in saving Pboro is to expect us to migrate down the A14, and its just not going to happen.
-
if you look at some facts: the land is being sold for £1million if you check the land registry you will see if you can build on it the land will be worth around £20Million. land is a long term investment and therefore no one would throw that away unless they had to. planning rules always change, so i would suggest that Sandhu has to sell the land.. and possible all that implies.

i have no intention of contributing either, but i still don't see why this is fair game. you appear to saying that as he is effectively asking for a handout then its all right to look deeper into his finances? with that logic i assume its also ok to do the same for anyone attending a food bank then? i have little sympathy for speedway riders, they choose the sport know the length of the career and know the risks, and to expect a 20 year job to support you for the rest of your life is unreasonable.... but still don't see what any of that has to do with his bank balance.
-
just wondered if anyone wants to contribute there finances on an open forum? detail what benefits they get from the state? no? thought not

so the guys made some money! perhaps if you had a talent you too could make the money.. or is it the politics of envy yet again?

Speedway Livestream 6 Days A Week
philfromcov replied to SpeedwayTShirts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
now we are talking techy this is my subject! the idea that an optical 3G/4G network would delay the service by 60/90 seconds is just not correct. any significant delay, and by that im talking above milliseconds, will be due to the company processing the data, not the delivery at all, so if its going to be a raw stream, and i guess it would and wouldn't expect more than a couple of seconds. as it has been stated this latency would have to be confirmed before any betting agency agreed to it, or as you say we can all get the correct result this time next year we will be millionaires rodney -

issue will be around average manipulation, you just wont be able to do it, i forsee trouble times ahead -
just been looking at the team line ups, the only one im concerned about is kings lynn, and that is dependant on lambert being a world beater, the rest id say are there for the taking
-
dont touch the food in the stadium either, its ok it was a joke! blimey ill get me coat
-
im not bitter at all actually, just im happy with the version of events that ive been told, ill tell my daughter not to serve you! been sucked into this somehow, as anyone who knows me will tell you i haven't seen a single poole meeting live or on TV since 2010, its my way of still being able to watch speedway. dont even know why im discussing this with you, appreciate you are one of the few southern moderates....
-
name one?
-
no we hate poole because your boss tried to close us down! and we wish the same fate for you
-
the problem is poole is now so infected by MF you cant separate them! its an interesting topic. generally on the internet you ignore the voices because its always "self selecting extreme views" in the case of Coventry V Poole, the views on this forum i would say are generally very tame, the vast majority of bees fans have a far more extreme view of what they think!
-
i dont think anyone could have motivated last years team to be honest. it just didnt jell and there were no riders in the team that could bring it together, they were all struggling. im sure he will be given time to show what he can do, should be no excuses this year thou. im sure he doesn't get the large anti poole feeling at Coventry, why should he he wasnt involved in the "troubles" however he does now, all he needs to know is that we would rather step in dog mess then praise poole. he has a good "english speaking" team, he knows we detest poole, no more slip ups!
