Leicester vs Sheffield 3/8/23
GeneralMelchett replied to Lenny Lion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
agreed but a full strength Sheffield might well have won this given how Leicester rode the other night - so it would still have made it more open than it, will in all likelihood, be come 10pm tomorrow assuming this isnt rained off -
Leicester vs Sheffield 3/8/23

This surely makes a home win much more likely - and therefore would mean Leicester (who are wobbling right now) and Sheffield will both make the playoffs. -
upped his average and does his best in the tricky third heatleader position particularly hard given the two superstar names ahead of him - when behind is always trying - i never have any issue with him!
-
People need their scapegoats when things dont go to expectation or plan - for me King has on one or two occasions not ridden to his average / expectation but every rider does that - that's why they have an average over the season!

Lions v Witches 31st July
GeneralMelchett replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
yep arms folded - defensive posture - he just isn't one for being on camera - given the twaddle posted on here about him i can well understand it. -
He has certainly shut a few people up with his performances of late! Lets hope he continues - but we have to remember the early days of any promising riders career are never a linear thing form will go up and down - as long as the overall trajectory is up than all is good!
-
This needs correcting - except for those on in the internet who moaned and whined about the same mistake being made twice!

on current form at Owlerton probably weaken IMO - away form home maybe stronger! I remember seeing Tais debut at Owlerton 0,0,0 - from little acorns! - am tempted to go on Thursday now - lets hope the weather holds! -

Both R/S riders did well last night - to be fair to Kemp he got 7 - it's just Dan eclipsed him with 9+4 -

Thursday V Sheffield is a MUST win for you - otherwise you may need to start looking over your shoulder! -
Lions v Witches 31st July
GeneralMelchett replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The Witches seemed a bit reinvigorated tonight and it was good to see pretty solid throughput particularly away from home - team actually doing what was expected maybe earlier - is it too late for the playoffs - maybe - matches against Kings Lynn to come so need to win both! did expect more from the Lions - Fricke was down on what he normally might be expected to get - oddly the Lions looked a shadow of the side i saw dominate the meeting at Owlerton the other week! still think you are playoffs bound however -

You have to wonder ‘what if’ Dan had been picked instead of Joe from the start of the season - nevermind take a bow that young fella showing the Lions what they are missing!! great performance from the Witches and a decent meeting as well unless maybe you are a Lions fan well done Danny too! -

Riss been going better of late so let’s hope he can and will do better should it be on tomorrow - as for Batch well he could be a matchwinner for the Lions he might not - either way people will have their say! early season witches won and I would have called the same - now I think close home win say 46-50 to 44-40. Emil and Doyley should be good to watch and Doyle seems to have ironed out some of his bike troubles which can only be good news for the Witches -
Its insanity to suggest they should step down! Brennan at what 22 is the future of these events why would you not get him ready - I like Charles Wright he’s been a good pro over the years not convinced he’d have done any better! no doubt had they gone with Wright and we hadn’t won then someone would have piped up with if you should have taken Brennan!!

Spot on - although a future world champ would learn from this and use it to their advantage for the future! Out of early disappointment comes success often! -

Discovery+ app on either smart Tv or iPad etc - you can watch the entire meeting! it was great night of racing - just fell short - never understand why people don’t get the point about belief / mental toughness it’s what separates the elite in all areas of life!! -
Sheffield v Wolves 24/07
GeneralMelchett replied to Tommy Sweetman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Given the weekend rain we have had in Sheffield I will be very surprised if this is on, I hope it is but would be surprised - pretty much constant rain both Sat and Sunday Edit - BSPA site suggesting next match is now 7 days Leicester v Ipswich -
Lets hope so, never like to see any rider struggling and below par - 11+2 best return this season is it?

Sheffield v Belle Vue 20th July

This is also what happened at Foxhall which again seemed unwarranted, didn't see it - I actually walked right past Wright as I made my way out from the 3/4 th bend area - he seemed fine! Both were beaten in ht 14 for a 1-5 which resulted in the meeting being lost so maybe related to that - IDK! The race seemed fairly uneventfull really -

Your best rider last night was Lidsey who hasnt ridden in the UK for a while before this year? It was only a stinker of a gate (off 3) that saw him last in heat 15 in my view -
Sheffield v Belle Vue 20th July
GeneralMelchett replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Seen him twice in the last 2 weeks - 4 at Ipswich last week - wins the GP and then 3+2 and looked anything but a GP winner tonight! the track wasn’t helping as it was slick later on. The best passing was early on. anyway the jinx is well at truly over - Sheffield deserved it as their big guns turned up in heat 13 and Josh Pickering and Kyle secured the win in heat 14! Half decent from Ellis, when he gates, but for Dorniers benefit he can say he took the scalp of a GP winner tonight!! -
