  1. Its certainly good to see some top level riders back in the UK - lets hope the racing is good as well
  2. sadly over the years I have seen and heard a fair few speedway fans who do lack brains cells! In the past there have been a fair few on this forum also!
  3. well given the above we dont need to set our alarms now! note it says other Russians can return to foreign leagues!!
  4. Of course his best days are behind him - I only work in old money for averages which means I cut out all the moving averges and removal of bonus points rubbish and go by the CMA as it used to be called. Andersen is remarkably consistent last year 5.73 overall - 5.78 at home and 5.68 away - he will be a decent no 2 or reserve if he ends up there for sure. There will probably be a lot of packing in behind the leader - he seems to get a fair few 2nd and 3rd places nowadays!
  5. Used to love the Good Friday meetings - recall before Arena moved to the Elite league - we have 3 or 4TT meetings with Hackney Eastbourne and Rye House and also bank holiday Mondays with a morning and evening tapes up.
  6. I estimated that crowds in the summer were maybe 2-2,500 ? Always tricky as so many sit in the big back straight grandstand but on more than one occasion it seemed to be maybe 30-40% full. I know 3000+ for Good Friday meeting in the early 00s was usually guaranteed.
  7. It will be interesting to see if the a big star puts extra bums on seats theory is bourne out - Ipswich already have Doyle of course and crowds to my mind were fairly decent last year (particularly when either the Panthers or Stars were in town) - so can more be added?
  8. I’d take him over Heeps anyday and I am amazed that some think the other way round - I did post last season early on that he didn’t always appear to be in full control on the bends but by the later stages he seemed more confident / comfortable on the bike. Like King he always tries hard and never gives up and you can’t really ask for too much more than that! I hope he is in for 2023.
  9. he did and was very popular there! I think he swiched after coming back from injury and Ipswich couldnt fit him in or something like that
  10. ....and happy christmas to you also! you really are a glass half empty sort of chap aren't you!
  11. Maybe, sometimes its betteer the devil you know!! There will be some who would say (had they tried it and it failed) - oh you should have gone with Worrall and Batch - you can only please some people some of the time!! anyway we are all still assuming and as the old saying goes!
  12. Saw both ride a few times last year and feel for them both, they did really well - Mountain had an exceptional end of season run of form! I hope they do have places somewhere, maybe come first set of averages changes or injuries they will be the first to get a place!
  13. Spot on, if the posting on the Kings Lynn thread is true about a 5 figure sum starting with a 2 to get KK then imagine what it would be for Emil!
  14. Perfectly happy to see King back - he tries and doesn't give up - he did adopt some off racing lines last year when trying to get points from the back ie outside line - for all thiose saying certain riders give up when not first he isnt one of them!
  15. Unless Hans is at reserve its a no from me at this level -
  16. well they were just rooomers for the sake of it, never realiastic
  17. .....for a 38 year old whose best days are most certainly behind him! I hope it works for you!
  18. Who knows, genuinely I have no idea, but I prefer to wait for official news!
  19. Like most rumours - completely out of nowhere and then its embraced by people who frankly should know better!!!
  20. Decent team and a few decent racers too - may have to haul myself to the NSS finally in 2023!
