Batch last year was a good example of this - mosty BPs for the Witches and almost the rest of the league I think
-
His bank manager might!
-
well I suppose but presume that is why they used without BPs it for team building or did! I have no idea what they use now as the average in the programme never seems to correspond to owt! They do use it in Poland
-
yes because if you score 3 from 3 rides thats 1pt per ride which if you use 4 as your base no of rides for calculating the average would mean its 4!
-
it is yes - I just go for the other one as thats how CMAs were calculated in the 80s when i started going. it was a simpler time!
-
yes this is why I have sometimes said look at whom riders are up against before criticising their scoring - poor old Danyon was having 6-7 rides a meeting of late often covering in races with Doyle or Emil the visiting no1 so unless he pulled a blinder out (which to be fair he did do a couple of times) the best he could hope for was 3rd place. Ideally the RS would only be riding against fellow reserves or 2nd strings and not GP riders.
-
you could well be right - by my reckoning Dan is the 3rd best RS out of the 7 currently riding so it is an improvement - and of course some were demanding change for changes sake so they have it! Its quite clear that neither Rowe (my preferred choice) or Kemp will be coming to Ipswich anytime soon so this is possibly about the best option right now.
-
thats his points per race - UK averages have always shown points per meeting - not sure which I prefer but its either 0.83 per race 3.33 per meeting or 4.17 if you include BP's - I always work in old money, as they say, so I would use 4.17 as his true average.
-
Ok so maybe its a bit of a laugh - but one of them is averging 4.17 the other 1.85 - so perhaps not such a nonsensical decision after all

Much better from the Witches tonight - Riss back and a switch and RS and they should be back on for the playoffs etc based on tonight’s showing! pleased to see much better from King / Rew rode well and Danyan did what was needed at no 2. Some good races as well -

track will be bone dry as well - assume no rain in Ipswich for a few weeks? Riss rides well at Wolves at least he will get some track time and then hopefully be back in the Witches side for the next meetings to be fair the Wiches could do with him their side tonight! -

Worth noting that Holder doesn't tend to do well at Foxhall, Howarth is key along with Musilak and Ellis (ex Witch??) who scored 12 and 9 last season. Witches need to get out of this bad run so King and Rew need big performances -
Good to see Erik back yes - high scores like you say not the strongest but maybe will boost confidence!
-
Amazing how things can change inside a few weeks - in April the Witches won at Leicester in the cup and all seemed fine - Kings form is a worry he scored 11 at Leicester in that meeting. Its clear than running withour Riss either as R/R or with a 28 day replacement isn't working so something does need to be done.
-
there is a reason for wealth - usually it isnt just good luck!!
-
From memory Zagar isnt that great at Foxhall?? but then having checked he got 5 and 11 last season so maybe ok, however at his age its a bit like KK probably a large outlay and wont be rewarding points wise
-
I think you maybe right there - and I agree the RS needs changing as more points are needed - as for King id give in a bit longer not hugely convinced of the options available - Batch maybe Tungate - both would divide opinion and when at his best Kings better than both.
-
The one who generally impressed me when he came in was Aaron Summers he scored well - shame he has retired!
-
Riss is a big miss and if he isn't able to come back then some chnages do need to be made, oddly the RS worked last night at BV - the reason he was clearly up against a similar level of rider, but at Foxhall on Thursday Zac cook admittedly not a RS was miles ahead of everyone even half the Witches team! I like both Danny and Barker as I feel they try Barker is largely scoring what you would expect - But Danny has endured a bad last 2 weeks or so - shame as he had started the season well I feel. Last night was evidence that if Doyle and Emil have an off night or dont get say 12+ and able to fully dominate then the Witches struggle.
-
A not unexpected scoreline - its clear that if Riss is not able to return then something does need to be changed in the line up! Genuinely pleased to see some points for Thompson. I actually felt he was fairly on the pace at Foxhall last week - he certainly wasn't miles behind - He needs the boost of some points (and money) and less pressure on him. 3+3 probably his best score. Would have expected a bit more from Doyle - but he can't score 15 every week, King is a worry his gating was bad at Foxhall last week and sounds like its bad last night also. its it a mental thing or bikes?
-
Oh happy days will it be on before or after the wrestling? anyhoo, expect a decent home win - the Witches home defeat last week needs a strong peformance tonight but they don't think will get a win tonight - i reckon up to 40 points mainly from Doyle / Emil - hope I am wrong tho

typical knee jerk reaction to a disappointing home loss - I am sure no one is more annoyed about last night than him! That said I did expect better of him last night - up until heat 8 all seemed normal - however Worrall, hitherto pointless, popped out beating Danny I was thinking he should be looking to win that race. His final 2 rides were just a disaster tho -

Thats ok objective / honest opinion fine with me - be nice if it got to be 'tested' as it would mean another top rider back in the UK! Lets hope he can line up for Wolves in the future!!
