Wolves v Witches Monday 21st Aug
GeneralMelchett replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I had Leicester down as securing their play off place winning away at Peterborough - that might not happen now! whilst anything is still mathematically possible you have to go all out and try to gain that win! -
Wolves v Witches Monday 21st Aug
GeneralMelchett replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Witches need the win, its not impossible but will be difficult as Wolves seem to be in decent form, then again they drew at home with Peterborough a few weeks ago so anything is possible! -
Peterborough v Sheffield - 21st Aug
GeneralMelchett replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You had no chance a few weeks ago - today I would say you have a chaace of a slender home win! I am actually looking forward to it anyway as a sort of neutral here i just want to see a good close meeting with decent racing! -

It was a good crowd last night (highest of all my visits this season) and due to the long gap in racing there was plenty of time for the riders to do the collection - but it is a fantastic amount for sure - I even got a 'Thanks Mate' from Doyley as I put my fiver in! Wishing Dan a speedy recovery as he was a miss last night. As for Klindt He does ride Foxhall well - his move on Danny King wasn't great and before that I had been thinking maybe he would be a good rider to sign for the Witches. He was the only rider to lower Emils colours but that was manily as he completely missed the start in heat 13 -

I would say he has to be worth a reserve spot in the PL next year from someone - 'ceteris paribus' and all that! -

If ever there was a meeting of two halves he had that kind of meeting - he was on the pace in heat 1 but simply couldnt match Emil. in his 2nd ride he gated last and had worked his way past Mountain and Riss - it was the final lap and he was trying to reel in Danny when he vanished into the fence on the 2nd bend final lap -. Then in his next ride he pulled up at the back and then was pulled from heat 13! Odd in my view. -

This was quite funny as he was looking over his shoulder and checking for Danyon then he fell and vanished so next time he looked round he saw a Kings Lynn rider and suddenly went oops i better get a move on, Doyley is certainly popular it took him ages to do his ben fund collection and everyone wanted piccies and selfies etc with him - and he found time for all of them! -

There is a car park not far from Hillsborough corner / - my guess is 5-10 minutes at max walk which will include waiting at the traffic lights on Penistone Road by Owlerton! Will PM you the location -

Well this a disappointment - Laguta having a decent night for Wrocław - 9 from 4 so far - I am hoping maybe he will be there it was mooted before that he wouldn’t appear for an away match and he did so fingers crossed otherwise it will be a bit of a biffing - I do get the trying to stem losses thing - but openness and transparency do matter too! -
if Riss has a stormer there - which he is capable of then its possible but i agree in principle i have the Witches as winning all their remaining fixtures except that one!
-
Whilst is is still possible for the Witches to qualify they should pursue this all they can - the table is skewed by two things in my view 1/ The Witches run of late has been because they have been riding against the bottom two and they also secured a very good win at Leicester (which is how they started the season winning away in the cup) - other sides had stacked uop points against KL and 'Boro previously giving them a points advantage which the Witches are now reeling in a bit 2/ The home loss V Wolves didn't help at all. Belle Vue is perhaps a different matter. I still think if any team will fall out of the top four its actually Leicester as they have a trick(ier) set of fixtures with more away than home. I had them down as winning at Peterborough (yet to do) but I didn't think they would get a result at Wolves. So in summary who knows form can go out the window. End Result - Witches will fail by a point or two to get in the playoffs - which given how they started the season will be a blow / disappointment / wasted opportunity (delete as you see fit!)

dodgy dinner night before! Rew at R/R possibly makes the Witches stronger - whilst this should be a routine win for the Witches i plan to be there and you know my record at Foxhall this season!
