  1. They are doomed I plan to go to Owlerton tonight!
  2. Bad news Tigers fans - am planning on going now so xpect a home defeat if previous attendance records are anyhting to go by! Looking foward to it tho - should be some good racing, Belle Vue fans last time I went (v Leicester) there were some horrendous roadworks by the stadium which can / will cause a 15-20 minute delays so be a bit earlier.
  3. Not there this week - stand easy Witches! its true tho I am the home sides kiss of death this season 0 from 4!! next home match at Foxhall is August 10th Sheffield fans can rest easy as well not intending to be at Owlerton either!
  4. They have - also its worth noting that the promotion that put the NSS in place ran out of money! There was a lengthly interview in the star a while back with Chris and was it Gordon Pairman? All the newer tracks that have survived have done so by building a track first and then a stadium / Facilities has to follow after!
  5. Given Dan Thompsons form in the last 2 meetings you'd want an up and coming UK rider to get tested if possible with a view for next season also re Refs - I was reading Tai's autobiography recently and it mentioned about refertees being forced off the panel / list at a certain age does that still happen? Seems to me a speedway referee just needs to stay awake and focus and then interpret the rules correctly. Two decisions last night just seemed wrong to me!
  6. I feel Batch will probably ride to his average - he will have great meetings once he settles in and score big - other times he will get 4-5 maybe less or so - that's what he did at Ipswich last year. On his day he can be very good - out of the gate quick and rides intelligently with partners, other times he will miss the gate and never look like he will get past!
  7. He has increased his average tonight, 2 wins too and as someone else alluded to above he has no backup right now from his race partner for his first 3 rides for sure. One of the 5-1s he conceded was Bewley and Blordorn who are no slouches round the NSS - He can't be expected to win every race! Heat 12 however I am grimacing a wee bit as he had beaten Tom Brennan already - Danny clearly has it in his locker to beat Kurtz and Brennan in heat 7 so you kind of want him to beat Brennan in heat 12. However no complains from me over having him in the team. His average is now 6.90 / 7.23 (quickly did the calculation)
  8. Last two meetings he as ridden well - pleased for him - must have been hard coming into to replace his brother and with all the difficulties etc - be interesting to see if he can keep this going on Thursday - for now he is doing excatly what is needed of him anyway - weakness elsewhere is the issue for not winning!
  9. I switched to the TV and old Kelv Bingo was back - phew! I was on the iPad earlier and it just switched - will check that for next time thanks!!
  10. Probably none having seen the other matches but watching 60-30 or 55-35 isn’t great for the neutrals -
  11. Ok this is odd the discovery+ commentary has switched to either Swedish or Danish
  12. Usual - I was in the pub and a bloke said type stuff - spent all winter filtering the truth from the erm well non truths
  13. was wondering if they might switch to a more even match but it looks like three routine / comfortable home wins form the matches today
  14. Doyle is for sure on a mid of season slump (although he did get 14 at Foxhall on Thursday) - I reckon 55-35 is about the best the Witches can get - that means 12+ each for Doyle and Emil and a few more from the rest. I will be tuning in as the NSS usually provides from decent races.
  15. Not forgetting a match winners score at Wolves last season too. He simply isn’t fit / recovered whatever it is that’s wrong!
  16. Would have been hobsons choice for you anyway given your opinion of Batch
  17. Been thinking the same for a while - over riding all night dan showed how to do it bide your time and take your chance when it presents itself
  18. He had a good start 3,2 then after the rain couldn’t gate and seemed to lose ground badly getting 1,0 - if ever there was a meeting of two halves - that was it. He was twice beaten in 1-5s by Tom Brennan and his race partner - I am sure Danny would be the first to admit he should have been better placed in those races. on a brighter note the wetter conditions really seemed to suit Dan Thompson and was great to see him get some points regardless of how you see his inclusion in the side!
  19. Cook had stated himself that he was disinclined to make long distance travel to ride at a loss earnings wise - no idea if that related to Ipswich, probably not - but it implies he has been approached by someone to ride for them in the PL at some point.
  20. a club might pay it to get them racing for them! Seem to recall it was a Mexican standoff like this that kept Michael Lee away for so long before he made a comeback in the early 90s - it was Kings Lynn
  21. Given I wtach most of my speedway at Foxhall - the weather is generally very good in summer there and its the first time in ages I have seen riders filled in and covered with shale!
  22. If your mind boggles at that maybe you ain't as clever as you think you are - seriously how many people do you think would seriously have the time committment and dedication to do the job!?
  23. no disgareement from me there! I said to a couple of guys sat behind me how I was dreading heats 12 and 14 as based on how the night was going that was the weak spot! People were also a bit too confident about Emil and Doyle getting another 5-1 in heat 15 after they had done in 13 - as it was Kurtz the little rotter leapt out of the gate and stayed in front!
  24. Unless they have changed it - it says 'refused to comply with the testing procedure' which could mean a number of things!
