  1. Well you are effectively saying I don’t expect to pass it I would say! it’s a bit of a gamble really out of 14 riders they pick 4 - that’s over a 25% chance you will be picked! Silly! I remember Danny Bird promising rider did we ever see him again after failing one of these?
  2. Well like me you can go for the hat trick - I seem to guarantee an away win this season!
  3. Wait for the facts first - if its a recreational drug then yes, but if its a painkiller then lets not be so quick to judge - I could techically overdo it with my inhaler and test positive!
  4. Given my previous 2 visits to Foxhall have resulted in defeat maybe I can complete the hat-trick - however the two defeats were Belle Vue and Wolves and they defeated Wolves the other week so if the right Danny King shows up and Rew gives it a go it can be won. Riss - well totally off the pace right now!
  5. to be replaced by whom? yes I think I can hear the sound of people hammering on the door to apply! Given what it would entail and how much of your life it will comsume I really can't see many being up for it! I am actually impressed and amazed that nearly all the people who were involved with the club when I was are still there!
  6. and in the half hour thats left they would have desperatly been trying to figure out what to do - time flies in a crisis - that 30 minutes would have felt like 5 Some people don't think before they post do they!
  7. Gotta feel for the Brummies promoter really - Goes to great efforts to revamp the team and this happens and lets be clear no one (except maybe the rider himself assuming it is what is suggested) could have forseen this! Only popped by to see how Batch was doing and saw the latest news! Still they did stress Botwell might be having up to 7 rides a meeting
  8. Been saying that since the 1950s - found an old world final programme at my folks a few years back and they were saying the exact same thing back then - over the winter we face some difficult choices and decisons!!
  9. Erik clearly not right - best to write this season off and focus for him on 2024
  10. Interview in last weeks star said he had been struggling with a lack of a mechanic etc He has had a pretty glorious UK career - it will end soon, maybe at the end of this season - despite the comments etc he seems still half decent around the showground it his age and at reserve he needs to be winning heat 2 and then picking up thirds.
  11. It looked nasty on TV! It was good to see them both up on their feet and checking on eachother. There is always a minority of fans who cheer crashes - often if the crash doesn't look too serious its because they think their team will benefit from it. However having witnessed a few serious crashes over the years, including the one that ultimately claimed Paul Muchene, you can tell the difference between crowd reactions, no one cheered that night when he crashed!
  12. I was more commenting on some of the more personal comments which were just in very bad taste and not needed - fans wonder why they aren’t taken seriously well your answer is above! I am surprised given how clever everyone is they can’t read basic body language that’s all! as for his general demeanour - no idea I sit well away from the pits at Ipswich when I go on the terracing on the 2nd bend / back straight so can’t see what goes on in there! frankly not that bothered either I just want to see the racing and enjoy it.
  13. Ok but he was leading Emil - admittedly he got passed but Emil is pretty unbeatable at Owlerton and it doesn’t alter the fact both Doyle and Emil are top opponents but yes let’s reconvene later and see how he has done
  14. Agree never a huge fan of what I’d call filler / individual / pairs events etc but I also used to like the Super National Marathon they ran at Arena that was 12 laps
  15. So Doyley and Emil are not tough opponents - right Ho!
  16. Well I have just watched the full replay - decent meeting I felt - presentation and commentary were better than in previous weeks - I feel Scott was paired well with Kelvin and it improved things - I think some of you just like complaining for complainings sake! one feature I really do like is the highlights from the other meeting segments. as for Hawkins - his arms folded is a defensive posture as he clearly isn’t comfortable being on camera. Not being a natural in front of the camera is hardly the worst crime for I suspect a voluntary position - and with some of the wallopers on here and their comments I can well understand it! If there was nothing to complain about some would complain! great meeting for Josh Pickering he has been good since joining. But - take a bow Emil - great riding the true master of Owlerton - nice to see warm congratulations between him and Musielak after their races!
  17. Inclined to agree here - he was really off the pace against leicester the other week but last night he scored 2 important wins - heat 12 very critcal (home 5-1) as it basically negated any 1-5 they might have conceded in heat 13 with Dolye and Emil - as it was it didn't matter but I'd say that was the moment the match was won!
  18. As far as I am concerned I don't necessarily disgaree with you but all of this is somewhat subjective - some 'professional commentators' irritate me and some don't - I was always a big fan of people like Barry Davies who said a little as possible and let the action do the talking for them. I still feel tho that Tatum is floundering somewhat as he needs a lead commentator a professional like Nige and they havent either found him one or don't intend to, altho clearly he doesn't irritate me as much as some! The presenter Abi - is ok for me, we have had better in that role but we have also had worse. Nicholls does a decent job summarising and as the 'expert' analysis.
  19. Can't not see the Tigers in the playoffs to be fair, as for Emil - with Holder he probably couldn't be fitted in but image him at Owlerton if he rides in the UK in 2024 and the premiership survives into 2024+
  20. Got to bear in mind that none of those are techncially media trained - I know I could never be a commentaor or presenter - I still feel Tatum misses his mate Nige a new lead commentaor with taum as the Co is needed.
  21. seems a tad harsh really, not seen the match yet will watch the highnlights later today, perhaps they should interview some fans after a meeting, particularly a defeat, and see what their faces and comments are like!!
  22. Inclined to agree now - think there is too much ground to make up and none of the top 4 will drop any significant points at home, the Witches need to maxmise their coming matches aginst the Stars but i think it will be too late! Three matches against Kings Lynn - 2 away could define the season!
  23. It has been raining, stopped now but the forecast is for more rain this PM up til 7pm
  24. cheap too! Bright and sunny so far in the Steel City - wont be at this one am going to watch the presentation on Discovery+ - will be at Foxhall on Thursday instead!
  25. Heavy rain and storms this evening - if you are thinking of travelling and I can’t think many will be with it being on Tv check before making that 3.5-4 hr trek!
