  1. He raises a good point tho - I recall attending a football match once - one fan sat behind me spent the entire game moaning - 'yer effing Shi8E Wednesday' according to him the ref was bent in both meanings of the word, the opposition were cheats - he left five minutes before the end and missed his sides winning goal from a penalty in the last minute - it had actually been a decent game ending in a 3-2 win for his side - My takeaway from that game was why the heck did you go if it caused you so much stress! Some people are just never happy - as i often say some would complain if there was owt to complain about!
  2. except he usually doesnt! from memory he has won it twice this season - just dont let reality get in the way of having a pop at either Hawkins or King
  3. Hope so its been a real pleasure witnessing his skill this season. In relation to the other point - last season Doyle also passed up heat 15 on a few occasions for a variety of reasons if ther meeting was won - I know one was he'd burst an eardrum and didn't feel like taking the extra ride. Maybe Emil likes to gives others the chance to have another ride and earn more money.
  4. dont do it you'll never make it!! oh ok! anyhoo well done witches - reserves did their job as well and so good to see Erik getting a few points
  5. yep! He admitted himself when younger he was the worse for not loking after himself - drinking etc during the off season - at elite level weeks and months of training often only result in small (ish) incremental differences in performance but that is often all it takes to elevate you to the top tier!
  6. One thing Tai was i think instrumental in setting up was proper fitness regimes for the uk squad - it’s clear that many riders at the top level are fitter and healthier than many from the 80s-2010 era - fitness for elite athletes does involves a slow resting heat rate but a much higher one when at peak levels of performance- that only comes through conditioning! It’s always interesting to see what they are on the start gate in the SWC I think the highest records was about 192bpm which is high - lowest was about 150-160ish
  7. I’d be interested in that it is as they overtake someone! Or when they expect incoming contact!
  8. Mine is only 50 - clearly you get stressed to easy seriously 170bpm is elite athletes level so unless you are being chased by jaws I’d be surprised you get that far - have no fear I’m never likely to be swimming in a pool near you
  9. Unless you are swimming at Olympic standard I'd be very surprised if you even got near that!
  10. Feel you make a fair and good point here - Lets hope Tai is back for next season as he has himself suggested.
  11. appreciate that these averages above are form - but DK now in the top 10 for PL according to the Stars averages for 23 - 7.96 CMA or 7.67 with No BP's placing him above Harris, Douglas Lidsey, Wright and others! and only marginally below Bewley!!
  12. If you check the heart rates on the WC meeting before the race when was your HR last at 170bpm!!
  13. There is no substiture for match fitness and sharpness in any sport! He is lean tho for sure!
  14. If the Witches have any designs on the playoffs and keep Leicester and Sheffield on their toes a decent win needed here tonight!
  15. I had you down as securing your playoff spot away at Peterborough - until the changes last night I would have felt a full strength Sheffield had a very good chance to win tonight’s meeting but now I do feel yes you will win it fairly comfortably. Monday was surprise but from that you have tough away matches to come so felt that whilst your spot was very likely until you get one more win it wasn’t impossible for Ipswich to catch you based on they have two matches v KL and one v Peterborough both from the Buster stable!!! Your performance at Owlerton was really impressive last month or whenever it was but what surprised me was just how bad the blip was on Monday - however you’ll be in the mix for sure for the playoffs now!
  16. well you know that massive home loss on Monday, Leicester looked a pale shadow of the side i saw at Owlerton about 1 month ago. the fact one of your riders is likely now out for the season with a ban and the fact the club have just announced its up for sale - (which is a great shame I hope thats sorted) - Id say its not been the best couple of weeks!
  17. agreed but a full strength Sheffield might well have won this given how Leicester rode the other night - so it would still have made it more open than it, will in all likelihood, be come 10pm tomorrow assuming this isnt rained off
  18. This surely makes a home win much more likely - and therefore would mean Leicester (who are wobbling right now) and Sheffield will both make the playoffs.
  19. upped his average and does his best in the tricky third heatleader position particularly hard given the two superstar names ahead of him - when behind is always trying - i never have any issue with him!
  20. People need their scapegoats when things dont go to expectation or plan - for me King has on one or two occasions not ridden to his average / expectation but every rider does that - that's why they have an average over the season!
  21. yep arms folded - defensive posture - he just isn't one for being on camera - given the twaddle posted on here about him i can well understand it.
  22. He has certainly shut a few people up with his performances of late! Lets hope he continues - but we have to remember the early days of any promising riders career are never a linear thing form will go up and down - as long as the overall trajectory is up than all is good!
  23. This needs correcting - except for those on in the internet who moaned and whined about the same mistake being made twice!
