  1. I didn’t watch it but I was keeping an eye on both matches on the updates - yes strength in depth for sure. Pleased for both Dan and Jordan - it’s good for them to get to be the stars being the points home!
  2. Much closer than it should have been but there you go - well done to the Witches reserves definitely won them the match!
  3. You would think so - however I was trying offer Brummies fans an element of hope!
  4. As long as you have yer cheque book😏
  5. The other thing is Tobi was riding with rather than against Jack and Chris etc there is a difference!
  6. The match last night reminded me of the very late 90s when I first started attending meetings at Owlerton - Sean Wilson and co reigned supreme and pretty much stuffed teams out of sight every week - it was pretty dull to be honest, the only real highlights would be if a visiting no 1 came and had a good go. I think we have to put this down as a bad one and hope the next match V's Kings Lynn is better at least we have Bomber to look forward too - he will give it a go!!
  7. Given how they performed last night can only see an away win, the only ray of hope for Birmingham is they did manage to beat Ipswich at home (twice??) last season so maybe they can pull another result out!
  8. It's wrong (in my view) to think a club is going to win at this stage with most clubs having only completed a single league match - Sheffield will have much sterner tests than last night but they have certainly started well. Unless they sort out the R/R they may suffer again is one of the Holders gets injured - like Ipswich suffered last year losing both top riders, but lets see. I feel Rowe is a natural fit at Owlerton last night he was out of the gate really quick each time - which gives him a big advantage - likewise Flint looked better than I have ever seen him, he was unlucky in heat 2 otherwise that would have been at least another 2 on his scorecard.
  9. Well you can’t but follow my leader isn’t entertaining . if the Birmingham riders had managed a gate or two we may have seen some - ergo the meeting would have been more entertaining for me and suspect most of those attending! part way through the meeting I moved to the 3rd/ 4th bend to see my tigers mate - at no point did I see any Birmingham riders trying different lines or trying to claw back ground on the Tigers - they simply sat back and completed the race settling for third or last!
  10. Pleased to see him doing well / he had a tough last season at Ipswich good start to the league campaign for the Witches anyway!
  11. Slightly curious how you think Birmingham tried - they were one of the worst sides I have seen in over 25 years at Owlerton! Zagar Jenson and even Tobias were shocking. Both Zagar and Jenson got out of the gate once and held on for wins but it was at the end of the meeting. I counted about three passes all night also - for £25 quid plus £4 for the programme it was poor entertainment it really was. Rowe looked good - but how can riders like Zagar and co be losing to a home RS and a no 2.
  12. Can’t see this myself home win - hopefully a good match - glorious day here in the steel city so heading for my first action of the season.
  13. This was even on Greatest Hits Yorkshire this morning in the sports news bulletin - really hoping everything works out for them all.
  14. Absolutely - the crash for Tai and what happened last year should make people check their somewhat wild expectations at this point! As its stands Ipswich are the favourites etc but lets not assume its all done and dusted yet. Thats said I would love to see them win it this year!
  15. Rather like the JD / and then Emil dilemma last year for Ipswich! They have some time but R/R makes them vulnerable long term. again - let’s hope Tai makes a full recovery from his injuries - only 2 of them IMO fit the potential to replace Tai - around Owlerton he is almost irreplaceable!
  16. Well I said KY would beat BV last night so what do we know 😄 but yes a Ipswich win is my bet for this one
  17. Wishing Tai a speedy and full recovery - nasty crash!
  18. It could certainly have a good effect on U.K. league speedway but let’s see!
  19. That’s a phrase on here we haven’t seen too aften! I happen to agree however 50-40ish
  20. Always had a lot of time for Tom, he seems to ride well on pretty much every track - he is a great signing!!
  21. Given the home perfomance this was much better from the Brummies, looks like Rew is having a decent start to the season, will be keeping tabs on him this year!
