  1. Given Garrity and Sissis were out injured, and given the poor performance by the middle order at Berwick, I thought it would be a easy win for Edinburgh. Couldn't have been more wrong and a great win for the Tigers. All the guys put a great effort in and Josh's ride to pass both Branford and Sedgman in heat 8 was very Steadesque and a tremendous piece of racing in the race of the night. Brady was in tremendous form won his rides towards the end of the meeting by a great distance and got to be favourite for the PLRC on that showing. Overall an excellent night for the Tigers with another good crowd, great fast racing, great atmosphere and the bonus of some new floodlights being installed in the stadium over the next few weeks.
  2. If Kurtz rides in the PLRC like he did tonight, the others might as well not bother showing up.
  3. Have to agree, I think it's fair to say with such a busy week for Coventry and Sheffield he would have been better giving Monday a miss after such a big crash at Berwick on Saturday.
  4. Oh he does, Cookies Twitter from earlier this season. Craig Cook ‏@the_cookstar Thanks to the guys at @TigersSpeedway again for the opportunity to ride one of the best tracks in the UK. It's been a pleasure ☺👍 3:45 p.m. - 9 Jul 2015
  5. Agree with this, Josh struggled with the track but wasn't on his own, Bellego and Klindt were abysmal.
  6. The ruts were there, which is why I noticed it so early in the meeting, the grader then got rid of them after the crash. I spoke to a couple of the riders after the meeting and they said the track was loose, but that was down to some new shale on the track.Got to say the Berwick track is a hell of a lot better than a few years ago when it looked a real roller coaster ride and Doolans pass on Cook was fantastic.
  7. Some riders liked the track and attacked it and others didn't and just plodded around, made for some very strung out races.
  8. I was on the backstraight and I thought Josh caught one of the deep ruts coming out the corner on turn 2 which threw him off line and into Liam but would have to see a replay to confirm that. I noticed there was a lot of track work going on in that area while Liam was being attended to, to smooth that part of the track out.
  9. I was commentating that some Berwick fans were saying that the Josh Bates/Liam Carr incident was the worse thing they'ed ever seen in speedway and he should have been kicked out of the meeting, when there have clearly been other similar/worse incidents in the past where no punishment has been dished out. I saw a far worse incident at Edinburgh earlier in the season with Sam Masters and Lasse Bjerre and nothing happened there either.
  10. Hmm I saw him fence Josh Auty on the backstraight fence in consecutive seasons at Berwick and then there was the incident with Ricky Ashworth. One particular night at Owlerton he was so out of control he was cleaning up his own teammates.
  11. Good job this rule wasn't around when Makovsky was riding or he would hardly have finished a meeting
  12. The Car Park staff and stadium security are provided by Owlerton Stadium and nothing to do with the speedway. As for the heavy security numbers, all sports venues in Sheffield came under heavy scrutiny after the Hillsborough football disaster and continue to be so.
  13. Will have to be a massive improvement on Saturday's performance from the middle order if the Tigers are going to get anything out of the meeting on Thursday.
  14. Amazed Jason Garrity is riding tonight after his huge crash at Berwick on Saturday.
  15. Gather you weren't there when Makovsky fenced Auty then ???
  16. Myself and a few others have gone to every Sheffield meeting home and away (as well as other meetings) for many years and I have only missed a handful of Tigers meetings since 1999 and that has ranged anywhere between 50-80 meetings a season, but the most dedicated fan I know is Halifax Tiger.
  17. Just had a look at the U21 lineup in Lublin on Saturday and Paco is not in the line up, so will be at Berwick.
  18. That looked like the Lanham we had last season.
  19. Have to agree. It was a bit of a gaters paradise and the racing was unrecognisable from what I've usually seen at the OTA.
  20. Firstly get well soon Ryan, the crash was very innocuous (by speedway standards), he and Brady were close going round the first bend there might have been a slight contact and Ryan slid off, he just got his leg caught awkwardly under the bike as he went down and thats what caused the damage.Considering Holub went full speed into the airfence later in the meeting and walked away was a very lucky escape for him.
  21. This should be an absolute cracker of a meeting. Obviously I hope Jason does well for Sheffield but for me the 3 slight favourites are Brady Kurtz, Craig Cook and Danny King. Be good to see what Robert Lambert can do at Owlerton.
