It was always going to be a long tail for the Tigers having 2 big hitters in Stead and Garrity which most Tigers fans wanted back this season so I think the promotion have done an excellent job in putting a strong looking team out and right up to the points limit. I don't think Steady would have come back if he didn't think he could get back to the standard he rode at before his injury, I personally would have brought him back even if he was on a 12 point average, as his leadership qualities are worth extra points to the team. He worked wonders with his guidance to Josh Bates in the second half of last season. Jason is only going to get better, still not mastered Owlerton so a full season will do him a world of good. Perhaps Kyle needed a move away from Workington and the move to Sheffield will hopefully do him good, I saw him have a scintillating meeting at Somerset last year and hope he brings that type of form to Sheffield, if he does, we have signed a cracking rider. If Josh Bates improves like he did towards the end of last season, his average will undoubtedly go up, He says he wants to up his average by 2 points, I can easily see that happening. Not seen too much of Dimitri Berge, but he did take the track record at Glasgow when we were up there earlier last season and being a former world 250cc longtrack champion you'd like to think he would be good at Owlerton. Richard Hall for me is a steal on a 4 point average especially at reserve at Owlerton, has plenty of doubters to prove wrong so that should be plenty of motivation for him. Despite being a local lad I've not seen too much of Nathan, hopefully Steady can work his magic as he did with Josh and he'll do a good job. If he beats his fellow No.7s on a regular basis he will have done his job. Plenty of if's as with all teams at this stage but overall it has the makings of a very entertaining team which should keep home fans happy. Crowds were very much up at Sheffield in 2015 despite the injury problems and hopefully that trend will continue this season.

Nico's equipment was pretty poor when he was at Sheffield and his scores showed that. Paco is very new to league racing and said last season he hasn't ridden many small tracks and he was very much on a learning curve, he did show some glimpses and was popular with supporters as his after race celebrations showed, but you guys are going to have to be patient with him.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Tigerite replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Agree, if any of the No.7s average above 3 this season they will have done well. PL racing is a big step up from NL. -
Travelling from Manchester to Sheffield is a complete nightmare at the best of times never mind in rush hour, as you say the road systems around Mottram in particular are out of date and nowhere near adequate enough to deal with the amount of traffic that goes through there. That's before you get to the snake pass/woodhead which aren't exactly fast roads depending which part of Sheffield you want to get to.

I believe Sheffield's group is Scunthorpe, Peterborough and Ipswich. -
Still two more riders to go yet Big welcome back to Steady, I was there that awful night at Rye House and thought we might have seen the last of Simon on a speedway bike so great that he's back. 10.41 is a big average to maintain but I honestly don't believe Steady would have come back if he didn't think he could ride to somewhere near that level.

Re Proctor, Sheffield management have already said that Ty isn't part of the Tigers 2016 team plans.

Welcome to Nathan, good to have another local rider on board.

Think you are looking at column C in the GSAs which is used if riders are absent from home meetings which includes a 5% addition for guest riders, Column A is the actual average. http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/pl15_issue_35.pdf

It didn't seem like it last week when he was asked at the end of season awards night.Andre is one of my all time favourite Sheffield riders and up there with the legends at Owlerton. Wish him all the best and hope he gets fixed up with a team for next season.

Agree, since coming under the tutalege of Simon Stead he has come on tremendously. Throughly deserved the rider of the year in 2015.
-
Agree, I couldn't think of a better person for the role.

I don't think there was ever any doubt that Josh was going to sign for 2016 but great to have it confirmed. The best bit of news was the rebuilding of the training track at Owlerton, without doubt Sheffield's most successful years were through the production of riders from the training track and we haven't had the same success since it was closed and great to hear Ashley Birks will be running training schools as well as other ambassadorial responsibilities with the club while he has a season out from riding. As always Josh and Jason's interviews were brilliant and a good night and looking forward to 2016.

If Nick stays at Swindon and they continue on a Thursday, that would rule him out for us.

At the last Talking Tigers event, Peter Mole said it will be PL in 2016 for Sheffield.

Surely the ref should know that rule -
Taylor's got to qualify through the Aussie Champs before he can be considered.
