  1. Lasse Bjerre confirmed as Tigers first signing, good signing on that average. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/sheffield-tigers/sheffield-tigers-sign-danish-star-1-8222794
  2. STAARS - Thursday 10th November 2016 All Tigers Fans, The first of the monthly STAARS gatherings this closed season will be on Thursday 10th November 2016 at the New Barrack Tavern Pub on Penistone Road, Sheffield (0.5 mile south of Owlerton Stadium) from 7:30pm. As always it's a chance for Tigers fans, riders and management to catch up, have a chat and a few drinks from the NBT's excellent selection and hear any news/updates from the club during the silly season. All are welcome !!!
  3. Steady's injury happened at Rye House in the league match, he and Dimitri Berge were comfortably leading a race and Steady overlocked going into the first bend on the second lap and Berge clattered into him and bent his steel shoe and left him in agony and a season ending foot injury. Re Garrity, DON'T KNOW
  4. On our way mate, hope the weathers better up there than the fog and rain we've had so far upto Carlisle. No idea how we are going to go today, bit of a bonus meeting for us as we never expected to get past Newcastle, but will hopefully keep it close to make a good second leg.
  5. It's a blow not having Steady, Jason and Dimitri as they are almost irreplaceable at Owlerton as all 3 are capable of beating anyone at Sheffield, but the club have brought in the best possible available replacements. Given our performance last time at Glasgow when we got stuffed, we will need a big lead to take up to Ashfield to give ourselves a chance in the second leg.
  6. I wasn't there today obviously, but I doubt it was worse than the Paul Cooper/Claus Vissing incident at Sheffield a few years ago, I think only fines were issued for that.
  7. Congrats to the Wolves, Really enjoyable final, great racing on a great racetrack !!!
  8. Think the Aces will pull a good chunk of the points back in the first 12 heats but Wolves will have enough in hand, particularly in the last 3 heats where they look very strong.
  9. Somerset did a professional job. But it was an abysmal effort by the Tigers considering it was a semi final. As for Arthur not getting extra rides, for me the reserves have been put in the wrong heats through most of the season by our team management, particularly at home, so it's no surprise he didn't get extra rides when he clearly should have done.
  10. Going to be a very makeshift team for us up at Newcastle, with Josh and Dimitri in the final round of the World U21 Championship, Steady and Garrity probably still injured. So 3 guests and R/R. Newcastle will need a guest/R/R for Lambert as well.
  11. People moaned for years when Neil Machin had the old pizza menu race card which was FREE with admission, now they moan when they have a £2.50 40+ page programme, guess the promoters can't win on this one.
  12. Peter Clarke was the referee last night, he had a poor meeting in the Tigers v Peterboro meeting a few weeks back as well.
  13. Bellego is usually superfast around Owlerton, great choice of guest, wouldn't rule him out winning the PLRC. Tigers could do with a decent win tonight and give us some confidence before all these away meetings over the next 2 weeks.
  14. Big tarmaced car park at the stadium, run by the stadium owners £2 to park.
  15. Garrity going to have a fitness test today according to Tigers website: http://www.sheffieldspeedway.co/news.php?extend.2131
  16. This is the early press release from The Star about Thursday's meeting, still no Garrity: http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/sheffield-tigers/speedway-tigers-challenged-to-get-back-to-winning-ways-after-long-wait-for-a-victory-1-8044856
  17. Ahh the old home track advantage excuse, if Ellis was head and shoulders above Bates (as you say) he would have won whatever track it was on.
  18. Kennett is poor around big cornered fast tracks, seen enough of him at Sheffield to know that. I'd hardly say Eliis is head and shoulders above Bates considering Bates is 2x and current British Under 21 Champion and he is in front of Ellis in the World under 21 series this season despite carrying a shoulder injury in the first round at King's Lynn. Although I'm pleased Bates hasn't been picked as he will be available for Sheffield at Edinburgh on Friday now.
  19. One of the great nights at Owlerton in recent times, think Edinburgh had won at Owlerton earlier that season as well. The team that night rode out of their skins and was just one of those nights that everything went right. Don't think this team is capable of those exploits as we don't have enough depth in the team especially in the reserves. Would be nice to put a decent display in on Thursday after that horror show on Sunday.
