The management have already put on an extra fixture with the recent 4tt and season ticket holders had free entry to that. -

Tigerite replied to Blackadder's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It is closed on safety grounds, Sheffield Council have been very strict on safety since the Hillsborough disaster. The open areas at Owlerton have a capacity of 4,000 which is plenty for league racing. -

Even though we were on the wrong end of a 5-1, Heat 15 is one of the best races I have ever seen at Owlerton. Breathtaking stuff from all 4 riders. -
Sheffield V Edinburgh (27 April)
Tigerite replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Seems an excellent call by the club, I'm about 5 mile from Owlerton and it's been pouring down for over an hour as forecasted, and it doesn't look like stopping any time soon. Saved a lot of people a lot of wasted money. -
Both Todd and Brady were in tremendous form tonight. Don't know for sure but I imagine the Moran Bros got maximums in the same meetings for Sheffield/Belle Vue Edit: Found an example of Shawn and Kelly Moran getting full maximums for Sheffield at Hackney in 1987: http://www.sheffield-tigers.co.uk/hacbl31081987.html

Great to see Kyle scoring so well, The Wolves reserve pairing would struggle in the Championship never mind the Premiership. -

Not sure, the big corners at Owlerton mean the riders don't scrub too much speed off in the corners but the fast guys must be well over 70mph going down the home straight.

We always go for meals in the Waverly when up in Workington. Staff very pleasant and speedway friendly and food is excellent.

It seems the decision was made on Friday from SpeedwayGB twitter page: http://twitter.com/SpeedwayGB/status/835855643571535873

A sad day for speedway. I won't pretend to know whats gone on involving the stadium, but losing a speedway giant like Coventry is awful. Feel for the Coventry fans, they've been treated terribly all winter and now this.

Delighted that Kyle has been made captain, he was brilliant both on the track and in the pits when given the role during the playoffs last season.
