  1. It was always my intention, to book this one, and then shop around for a better deal. I have found cheaper, and closer to the stadium, but, they all have the policy of charging you immediately, therefore, if you cancel for whatever reason, you still get charged the full amount! I would be interested to hear of how others are getting on with this problem, and would appreciate any help aswell. Thanks
  2. I think you must be doing something wrong. Just tested it out, and found no problems.
  3. Only pulling your leg! Seriously tho, never would I want a rider to suffer an injury just because he's a naughty boy. Although, when Holta took him out, I did jump out of my seat, but felt very guilty afterwards. Thats what Nicki does to you. I guess, without it, there would be something missing from the GP series, but as I've said on this forum since Cardiff, he is experienced enough to know when and how to use the rules to his full advantage, and being world champion, he knows he will get more than his fair share of contentious decisions. On Saturday, he missed the gate every time, and when he needed to get some points from his last 2 rides, took the opportunity to try his luck, and he succeeded in gaining out of it, when we all know, he conned the ref. Maybe, Nicki knows how he officiates from riding in Poland. I don't know. But everybody watching, knew his predicament, and the fact he, not only gained from his antics, but at the expense of 2 others, we got all this reaction to the outcome. If he now goes on to win the title by a few points, I for one, will not be able to bring myself to recognise the fact. But, as I said previously, the series would not be the same, without him!
  4. Educated assumption, based on his reputation, his arrogance, his previous record, his ruthless persuit of the world title at any cost, his poor starts on the night, etc. Saying all that, I love the fact that he is around, as its never boring, but as long as, once in a while, he gets his just desserts. And on saturday night, it looked like that was going to happen, until he realised his position, and the antics started. A journalist you say? Can I take a guess, and say, Heat magazine?
  5. Once again, its a tired looking selection, and as previously said, very sad that some riders get picked simply because they know the track well. I agree with SK, we aren't good enough to win the cup, so give Tai and Eddie a bash. They will certainly give the other teams riders something to think about.
  6. Caved in already and booked my room for fri/sat this year. Had a real problem with a lot of hotels, as they wouldn't take bookings so far in advance. Seeing as I booked my tickets this morning, had to go with the same hotel as this year(the Copthorne if youre interested). Cost was £280 for the 2 nights, and seeing as I got 1 night for £92 thi year, and a better quality of room to boot, they are already cashing in, it seems. But saying all that, couldn't really fault the hotel in any way, and at least I know what to expect! Will now take in the pairs at Somerset aswell, next year. Roll on!
  7. Hello Sue, its me. Thanks for your company on saturday night. Very enjoyable. Hope we bump into each other again, down at ippo, in the near future.
  8. Music was spot on all night. Every winner and every incident was occompanied with very appropiate music. We agreed that the "w@nker" song could have been for either nicky or that stupid ref!
  9. IMO, Pedersen was missing gates all night. In th first incident with Adams, he missed again, so he took his chance to steer into Leighs' bike, then went down, hoping to at least get an all 4 back. The Referee( I use the term very losely with this idiot), made the worst decision in GP history, and Nicky got lucky. The referee was not expecting to have to make the same horrendous decision so soon after the first, but his poor judgement in the first incident gave him no option in the second. If anybody wants to know how incensed the crowd were, then they should have been there to see the reaction from the crowd, especially behind me, above the start/finish line. How often do you see the security have to intervene between the ref and the crowd at a speedway meet? Nicky is a great rider, but there are parts of his game that are not welcome in the arena by the majority of speedway people. He has plenty of ability to be a success, without resorting to the tactics he uses when his back is against the wall. No other rider would have got away with what he did last night, but then again, IMO, I don't think there are many, if any at all, that would do what he does. Of course, he can't be 100% sure what decision a referee will make, but he uses the rules in an unsporting manner if things aren't going his way, and with a weak referee, he knows that being world champion will get him more than his fair share of favourable decisions.
  10. Thanks Sue, thats very good news indeed, and we will definitely make good use of this facility! Last year we had a 1 hour car journey back to our hotel, so we were not able to partake in any refreshments! We did, however, make up for it when we got there! Thats what you get for leaving the booking of accomodation to the last minute. We were a bit concerned about the travelling to and from the stadium, but your news has cheered me up no end. Thanks and see you there. P.s. I'm not as bad as I'm made out to be on here, but maybe, you will be able to judge for yourself if we bump into each other in Cardiff.
  11. Hi Sue. My brother and I will be there. Seems to be about 5 miles from the stadium, which is a little too far too stagger back methinks, but last year we stayed at St pierre country club which is in Chepstow! Still had a great time tho. Hoping for more of the same this year!
  12. You'd think they would know how to lay a track by now, especially after the farce a few years back! Heat 16 has turned this meeting into a joke.
  13. I'm really looking forward to an oportunity to watch Emil Sajfutdinov race. I do believe he will be racing in England soon, in an under 21 meeting. I have seen him in action on the polish tv website, and he looks like a proper racer!
  14. Thanks Ghostwalker, signing up and looking forward to some great racing.
  15. Can you tell me what is the payment method? Is it monthly, or a one off payment? Whatever it is, how much is it in pounds sterling? Any help will be much appreciated.
  16. Lawrence, thank you so much for the information. I have just watched 2 meetings, recorded from earlier in the week, and I have to say, if thats what you get every week, then I'm moving to Poland! Tremendous racing, dont see racing like that very often in England. It's a shame that we can't get it live over here. I am now a convert to extraleague!
  17. I would be grateful if anyone can give me info as to when the live meetings are on. I have registered onto the site, but I'm having trouble understanding polish! Just wacthing the ostrow - bydgoszcz match - bloody good! Thanks.
