Cheap Air Horns For Cardiff & Swc
srbramble replied to Noodles's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I wouldn't have thought that they can't legally stop you from taking in anything that is available inside the stadium. i know the cinemas don't like it, and have tried to stop me, but I always make a fuss. The answer is to stop ripping people off, and make the prices for all items the same as outside the stadium. An idea for those who want to take in airhorns. Shove them up your bums, because that's where they will end up if I get blasted by one. -
Prague May 22nd Its Official This Time

And then you go on to make statements that are opinion only, and a final one that is as outrageous as the decision itself. F*** knows what you were watching. -

The problems arise over exclusions, because the rules allow different enterpretations for different individuals, a major problem if you are a referee, presiding over a GP. Those who were commentating and in the studio, were unanamous in their opinions that AJ was hard done by, yet, there are still those who believe they know better, using the same old cliches to back up their rantings. Yes, Gollob was in front at the point of collision, but he got there at a rediculous speed to enter a corner, and was turning left at the same time as the leader of the race, who was yards in front of him. We all know of Gollobs ruthless streak, and it was evident this was a fine example of it, and he only got away with it because we had a Polish referee, who hadn't got the bollox to do the right thing, and the final outcome was a winner who didn't deserve it. I don't know why we have a rule, that states a rider has to be excluded, especially when, as was last night, it is possible that this was just a racing incident, and no rider was at fault. The combination of crap referees and rules that allow them to make outrageous decisions, will ruin the series. At least do what they do in boxing, and have 3 adjudicators over such decisions, so we don't get this blatent favouritism. -

10th Year Pre Cardiff Entertainment
srbramble replied to sportsnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
A decent effort with the pre meeting entertainment, wouldn't go amiss this year. Are they so ignorant, they can't see that is why the stadium is half empty until 5 minutes before tapes up. Amateurs. -
2010 Grand Prix Competition
srbramble replied to ballinger's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why do we need the mods? I don't see why or how their interference is affecting the running of this competition. All the teams have been submitted, new captains nominated, and scores collated after each round. What's the problem? And why are we still waiting for the updated scores after round 2? -

So far, this meeting beats any from all of 2009. Brilliant stuff. -

33 posts on the naming of a GP? beats the thread from a while back about favourite crisp flavours. And some say that speedway isn't a nerdy sport. -
Cardiff 2010 Hotels
srbramble replied to flagrag's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Listen mate, it's not always about saving money. Cardiff is a one off, a chance to enjoy the weekend, not just the meeting, and staying over is the best bit. I want to be able todo as I please, and have a drink, a meal and meet with people, and jumping in the car after the meeting, and driving an hour back to a hotel, doesn't fit the bill. Our hotel is about a 10 minute taxi ride away from the stadium. It is where we stayed last year, and we are meeting up with the same people as last year. You can't put a price on a good time. -
Gp Grand Finalists
srbramble replied to barrow boy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And where does that leave the riders in the lower ranks of the field? You do need 16 riders to make up a GP, and this system only works for the top half dozen riders who are able to truly compete for the title. The rest turn up for maybe one. two or three rides, and go home. The system we have now may not be perfect, but each and every rider knows he will get at least 5 rides, an exclusion or an EF may hinder his chances slightly, but at least he has 4 other opportunities to redeem himself. To make the GPs competitive, the FIM need to make some rules up about equipment used. A bit off the wall I know, but why not let them have full control over the engines used. Each rider gets 2 engines, all supplied by the FIM, and all tuned by the same person to the exact same spec, and then randomly given out to the riders. All other equipment used to be at each riders own preference. Every engine has the same power output, and it is then up to the skill of the mechanic and rider on the night. -
Scottish Wc Squad
srbramble replied to cheekycobra's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to be proud to be English anymore, and have these team GB rules enforced upon us. I don't think we get as much as you do out of being team GB, as all of the riders seem to be English, unless I'm mistaken, therefore, it would be most welcome if they decided to create a team Scotland, and give us English our team back. It would only give us another sport to beat you at. -
Who Can Be World Champion 2010 ?
srbramble replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Emil seems to be a rider quite capable of looking after himself, but I take your point. he didn't win many friends with his racing style, and every one of the others knows he is the man to stop. I fancy Emil for the title myself, and Tai will not disgrace himself, unlike Harris and Nichols did last season. -
Country To Win World Cup?

Far too early to make an educated guess, as form and injuries will play a part. Strength in depth will make the poles the best bet at the moment. -

2010 Grand Prix wildcards
srbramble replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And the same can be said for the 2008 season also, but then, as is the case now, brits are an important part of the series, whether anyone likes it or not. Why do you think the host nation of any world sporting event automatically qualify? Ok, it's a different format , and its over 11 meetings in several countries, but the principle is the same, to put bums on seats and give the home fans something to cheer about. It still doesn't explain Harris' inclusion though. -

Then it wouldn't be a world championship, it would be a british championship, and we already have one of those, and we struggle to fill that with quality riders. -

Gollob, Lindgren, Andersen, Hancock, Crump, Pedersen, Sajfudinov, Holta, Hampel, Holder. More than enough reasons why Harris' inclusion is a complete waste of time. And before anybody says it, Woffindens inclusion is for totally different reasons to Harris, so no comparisons please. -

It's funny how most of the people who support the inclusion of Harris, have Coventry avatars. Loyalty can be taken a bit too far sometimes. -

If, by some miracle, he actually does well next year, then I will take all the criticism back, but you have to use his past record as a yardstick, and there are more deserving cases. His league form isn't even good enough to justify his inclusion. Personally, if it had to be another brit, I would have chosen Richardson over Harris. -

A long time ago, an old girlfriend of mine had a single released, and it charted at number 76, with the official sales figures that got it there approximately 160. The same week, a song called " Frankie", I think, by Sister Sledge, reached number one, with the number of sales at around the 4000 mark. Of course they don't monitor every sale, just as they don't with the viewing population. -
Who Can Be World Champion 2010 ?
srbramble replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The winner will come from one of 4, Gollob, Crump, Pedersen or sayfutdinov. In other words, yes, it's as predictable as that. In a series that has 15 permanent riders, that's a sad indictment of just how poor and tired the format is. And some more consistent refeering decisions won't go amiss either. -

srbramble replied to gaztrotter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As it was when Harris was in the frame for a selection, a very unpopular choice, even with the majority of British fans. Not clear to me how and why he has been chosen, and it would be interesting to hear from those people who had the final decision. Lets see if he can justify his place, with some good performances, instead of excuses as to why he has had yet another poor meeting.
