  1. Yet more crititism of the BSPA. They really are a complete farce.
  2. Sorry guys but according to speedwaygp.com today: Polish Ekstraliga fixtures scheduled for May 1 could be postponed as Poles stay at home to watch their fellow countryman, Pope John Paul II’s beautification live from the Vatican. According to Rzeszow’s official website, the fourth round of fixtures, which take place the day after the FIM European SGP at Leszno, may be given a new date. Ekstraliga bosses are set to make a firm decision when they meet on Tuesday, February 1.
  3. Follow the link(s) to the ticket agency and it appears you can also get tickets for the Czech GP as well.
  4. I decided to never visit Poole ever again after they 'managed' to bring Hans Andersen in two years ago.
  5. Would have liked to have seen the top two from each club - no Watt, Richardson, Zagar or Judas? With this flawed race format, the other clubs will be praying to be drawn against Eastbourne. Last year the teams who raced against Belle Vue had a huge advantage over those that didn't.
  6. Yes of course you can pay at the gate and the advanced tickets will still be available to be purchased online up to 1pm on Sunday via the online ticket shop:Peterborough Speedway Online Ticket Shop Adult - £15.00 Student & Senior Citizen - £10.00 Junior (12 - 15 yrs) - £5.00 Child - (11 and under) - FREE (If accompanied by parent/adult) Programme - £4.00 Car Parking - £2.00 PLEASE NOTE: credit or debit cards cannot be accepted at the turnstiles For those making a late decision the weather forecast is looking favourable: Met Office
  7. Elite League £16.00 - 15 heats £1.06 a race Premier League £15.00 - 15 heats £1.00 a race World Cup £20.00 - 25 heats £0.80 a race (even better if buddy up with someone and get a family ticket £17.50 each - 25 races £0.70 a race) Seems pretty reasonable to me. Would have been even cheaper if you had bought your tickets in advance.
  8. KING'S LYNN TICKETS Tickets for Event Two of the FIM PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Speedway World Cup at King’s Lynn are still available and go on sale at the Norfolk Arena from noon on Monday. Grandstand seats are £35, while standing tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for under-15s and OAPs. A family standing ticket for two adults and two under-15s is also available for £35 Err so if there is two adults going together it is cheaper to buy a family ticket and throw the kids tickets away?!?! (or even better sell them on - could sell them for kids or OAP's as the tickets just say U15/OAP) speedwaygp.com
  9. 10. That is what it is. I would expect one of the other Peterborough heat leaders to get one of the invites do that leaves 6. Isn't Emil over around that time for Leigh Adams farwell? Crump and Pedersen live fairly local, and I would love to have Gollob over - would swell the crowd with Poles
  11. Hotel sorted. Slap bang in the city centre, same hotel as last 4 years and the same price. Well chuffed.
  12. Seetickets now selling tickets for next year already......... Saturday 25th June 2011.

  14. Bjerre will be there don't worry. He has not broken his wrist as first feared. He has had some stiches to but is ok and will be fit for Cardiff.
  15. Now that I have recived my GP ticket, it states on the back at the very bottom: "Air horns with a flammable content are prohibited inside Millenium Stadium"
  16. I have stayed there for the last 2 years and staying there again this year. When I first went it was £32 per room per night but they have upped it gradually each year like the rest of them. Still it's cheap(ish) and does the job. The plus is that it's in the centre and is so close it is easy to come and go as you please. When I have stayed outside the city you have to rely on taxi's and that ups the cost and isn't as convenient.
  17. From speedwaygp.com today The Royal Navy will be returning to Cardiff in two weeks time, when their Field Gun Runner Display Team and Marine Commandos form part of the pre-event entertainment at the FIM British Speedway Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium on 10 July. More details and timings will be on speedwaygp.com in the lead up to the event.
  18. From speedwaygp.com: OPEN PRACTICE Practice for this year’s FIM British Speedway Grand Prix will be open to fans who want to watch their heroes prepare for the 10th anniversary of the sport’s flagship event at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. After a successful trial last year, BSI Speedway and the Millennium Stadium have decided to offer free admission to the Friday session to all valid ticket holders. The session, which will feature all 15 Grand Prix regulars plus the wild card and track reserves, will run from 3pm to 5pm on Friday, July 9, the day prior to the British SGP. This provides a unique opportunity to see riders taking to the track for the first time, and their quest to find the right racing lines and set-up for their bikes. The stadium will open its gates at 2pm. As a special bonus, speedway legend Barry Briggs will conclude his marathon ride around Britain for Sport Relief, by taking a final lap of the Millennium Stadium track. The four-time world champion will take the chequered flag at around 2.30pm. Paul Bellamy, managing director, BSI Speedway, said: “Every year we aim to provide fans with a bigger and better event. Last year the opening of practice proved to be a very popular move and, with it being the 10th anniversary of racing at Cardiff, we decided to make the session open and free to all ticket holders. “It is fantastic Barry will finish his epic trip at the spiritual home of the sport. Earlier in his journey he rode around the new Wembley Stadium during half-time of an England match and the crowd recognised him and his achievement. I'm sure all speedway fans will be thrilled to see the conclusion of his long ride.”
  19. No Poundland are now selling proper air horns for £1 - not just those blow-in-to thingys
  20. Poundland are now selling 'England' Air Horns for £1. I have stocked up - will see me though Cardiff, the SWC and until the rest of the season at least.
  21. From Speedwaygp.com today: The Royal Navy will invade the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on July 10, after agreeing a deal to sponsor the FIM British Grand Prix. Some of Britain’s finest will play an integral role at the three-hour spectacular with a Field Gun Run and the Royal Marines Commando Display forming part of the 10th anniversary event’s entertainment. The Royal Navy will use the Grand Prix to raise awareness of the work the Navy and Royal Marines are involved in around the world. Paul Bellamy, Managing Director of series promoters BSI Speedway, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Royal Navy on-board as a sponsor of the FIM British Speedway Grand Prix. “They have been a licensing client of IMG for a number of years and we see this as a great way to broaden this existing relationship. “Commander Steve Pearson attended the Grand Prix last year and we are very pleased that, under his guidance, the Navy has chosen to partner with us in this way. “I'm sure our audience will be thrilled to watch the spectacular displays the Navy excels at.” Commander Pearson is delighted the Navy will get the chance to crank up the atmosphere in the Millennium Stadium before the world’s biggest speedway event gets underway. He said: “Having seen the Grand Prix in Cardiff last year, we feel it is a great event to be associated with. “The atmosphere was electric and passionate, and we hope the display by the Field Gun Crews and the Royal Marines will excite and entertain the thousands of fans before the meeting, creating the same atmosphere before this year’s anniversary event. “Our messages about service careers “Life without limits” and “State of Mind”, encapsulated in our display teams, has a real read across to speedway which is all about skill, discipline and bravery from the first heat to the last. “We are all very much looking forward to the event and seeing the riders in action out on the track.”
  22. I have been to Cardiff every year and have always taken my own air horns - I have never once had them taken off me. I have been searched going in and had food and drink removed but the air horns have always been ok. I tried to Google them for more information but couldn't find much, but these look like the sort of 'England' air horns Wilkinsons are selling: Google Air Horns
  23. I was in my local Wilkinsons today and noticed they are selling 'England' air horns for just £1.95. Just thought it might be of interest to people who want to buy air horns for Cardiff & SWC and don't want to pay over-inflated prices. Edit - Poundland are selling the same 'England' air horns for £1!
