Hi, I am wondering if somebody could give me some advice? I am a dog walker and one of my clients who is in his 80's has a collection of Speedway Star magazines in great condition, dating back to 1979. He is looking to sell them but as he does not use the internet he does not know where to start. I was just wondering if there is a market for this sort of thing? I think there are roughly 200 magazines and they are all in fantastic condition. Any advice would be welcomed, Thanks, Greg.

Need some help. I have followed the link on the speedwaygb website to purchase tickets for Torun, however when I enter the website, there is no link for purchasing tickets, only seating plan and ticket prices. Any help would be great.

I have been to Wroclaw before and I absolutely loved it. I fancy Poznan as it is somewhere different. Thanks for all the suggestions and link to the Polish website. Much appreciated -

Which Brit Should Get A Wild Card?
GregM replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I wish people would stop pushing Tai for a place in the GP's. Great young talent, and I have no doubt he will be a quality rider in future GP series, but I really feel at the moment, they are a step to far for him. Let him concentrate on the leagues for perhaps 1 - 2 years, then if he is a consistent head leader across all leagues, he will be a cracking addition to the series. It is a similar situation in football, when the senior players aren't doing the business, stick them in the team as they are hungrier, and play with no fear, however the detremental side of this can be a loss in confidence after a few poor matches. Same thing applies with speedway (i.e Nicholls & Harris). I also think it is alot to ask of the boy who facing overwhelming personal problems at the moment, and will have bigger things on his mind than preparing for a full GP series. This is merely my opinion, and this subject has probebly been talked about to the point of exhaustion, but I thought I would add my thoughts anyway. P.S If he does get the wild card pick next year, I hope my comments come back to haunt me and he has a fantastic series. -
Has Sky Had Enough Of The Gp
GregM replied to nibs's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yip, have to agree, GP's are gash at the moment. Gate and go nonsense, that no matter how much the sky crew sugar coat it, we can all clearly see the racing is poor. I used to love coming in from work on a Sat and watching the gp, now it doesnt bother me if I miss it. Do you think people at sky/fim read these forums in order to see what the fans think? -
Grand Prix Challenge.

I have been to a grand prix at Wroclaw, and the atmosphere is great. Excellent beer, and a fantastic atmosphere, couldnt have asked for much more. -
Straying from the GP's, I went to the World Cup down at Coventry last season when GB got humped by the Danes. I may be wrong, but I think Olsen was in charge of track preperation for the meeting. I met a couple of riders after the meeting, and asked why team GB were so poor. They suggested it was because the Brits were going for the dirt on the outside of the track that usually exists, however the track was completely different from league racing. That meeting was poor, with little overtaking. The next Monday, Coventry were racing at Brandon, and the meeting was extremely entertaining, and the track was graded differently. I may be wrong about it being Olsen in charge on that particular occasion, however it was another flag ship sky meeting where the track was gash.

I would 100% sign a petition to get rid of Olsen. I havent seen the first 2 gp's, however I was so dissapointed with last seasons racing that it left a sour taste in the mouth. I think the sponsors claim sounds plausable, as the money they generate from them is the only logical explanation for grading tracks that produce gate and go, dull, boring racing. I am quiet saddened as the GP, for me was always the pinnacle. I went to Wroclaw in 07 and saw a fantastic meeting. Last year was anything but. If the racing does not improve this year, I will seriously think about bypassing them in 2010.

Hey Does anyone know where I can catch the GP'S/Elite League in Australia? Cheers
-
Just thought I would let you know, the highlights from the last round at Gillman is currently on channel 10

If memory serves me correct, the stadium is roughly 20-30 minutes outside of the city centre, but you can jump on a tram that will take you right outside the stadium. Enjoy, Wroclaw it's a gorgeous city.

I am currently travelling Australia, and was in Newcastle for the first meeting, and listened to the Mildura meeting. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Newcastle, and many thanks to the guys at radio Freemantle for all their hard work. Also big thanks to Johnno for the Mildura summarising. Congrats to Leigh Adams, and a better score from Glasgow's own Josh on Sat.

Hey folks I posted a thread a few months back about information on the Australian Championship round at the Newcastle Showground. Can anybody give me info on the start time+ticket prices. Also, do you have to purchase a ticket before hand. I am currently in Sydney, and am planning on attending the meeting. Greg
