DW lol - i know what you meant - and yes it IS a poor track for Lynn (poor track for most ppl) - but y'never know.... Its on Sky so we'll be able to see how well (or not) we do - and I guess KB will only know if he feels ok after the GP - but hope its positive. -

Haha yep - never understood really why there can't be maybe a trainee official on the bends. And I think they have access to a monitor in TV meetings but he'd obviously made his mind up before they showed the replay anyway - i guess. What I was getting at tho' was there'd be no monitor (or anyone filming probably) at non-TV meetings,so you couldn't really have one rule for TV and another for non-TV matches. -

Don't think there's any rule that allows that TBH - probably because there's not similar facilities in non-TV meetings. -

"O ye of little faith" If KB is up for it and we have a guest-free team I see no reason why at least a point isn't possible. -
Gratz to Niels Anyone know when round 2 is? Hope its not next thursday ....

Have to say I'm amazed and very pleased we managed to get 3 out 4 points tonight. Also pleased of course that B'Hams' reluctance to switch dates backfired on them. Watt and Nicholls were no replacements for our top two obviously but they did enough for the remaining Stars to back them up admirably, and Fricke too got some important points, so well done everybody. Hope Skornicki isn't too bad , B'ham can ill afford him being out. -
Yeah I know but it was so frustrating to lose a point tonight and we all know why - not having our full team. Tomorrow's farce won't help either.. I know all the top Danes are missing but can't believe Nicholls Watt and Fricke are the best guests available. If we're struck down by more injuries as the season progresses and thus more inadequate guests, the points we lose could make all the difference to a play-off place or not - It happened last year after all And if Louis Kerr gets crocked gawd 'elp us Nope - just being realistic.
-
Glad to hear KB should be back Monday. We might nick a point there for a change, who knows? Tonight v. Swindon has showed that guests just don't work for us and its more of the same at B'ham tomorrow i'd guess. So that's 1pt lost tonight and probably 4pts lost tomorrow. Is this the start of the end of what finally looked like our season?

Definitely right about Nicholls - he was never going to be an adequate substitute for KB in heat 15. Kenneth would most likely have gated with Niels and though Kildemand might have got him we'd have got the 4-2 needed for all 3 points. Having cited Nicholls, of course Rory's poor performance didn't help one little bit but I feel that NKI/KB in the last heat would've compensated. Doesn't bode well for the farce at B'ham tomorrow either unless Nicholls speeds himself up, and I see Watt only got 2pts at Poole tonight too. Can't see Fricke doing as well as Niklas either so if we get a point there it'll be a miracle. I guess your rose-coloured glasses didn't see Worrall do the same then? Actually the replay clearly showed nobody moved before the tapes rose anyway - so correct decision by the ref IMO. In heat 2 however maybe Rose should've stayed down - then the ref might have seen the two nudges he got from Worrall in the replay. -

Hmm - I can understand why some think he's entertaining but he's too 'out of control' for my liking. Hopefully he won't take anyone else off with his antics tomorrow .... -
Birmingham V Kings Lynn Select Thurs 15th May

£10 ? Where does it say that? All I see (first post) is a combined £20 for TWO matches which is not a lot of use for away supporters!! Doesn't bother me anyway I'll not be coming to this farce -

Star Fever replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We haven't walked any at home so far this season, and i don't expect this to be any different. Kenneth Bjerre's absence means we've lost our best gater, and its our gating that has prevented us dominating in previous home matches. So I can see Lynn doing all the work overtaking-wise (hopefully) if the Robins are in a gating mood. Nicholls is at least a racer but he didn't exactly set the world on fire with his last visit, and team Lewis didn't manage a win when Worrall guested for Wolves, so they'll need to be on their toes too. I'll be disappointed if Swindon get any points but its not impossible -
Agreed - its totally ludicrous Birmingham must SURELY realize a lot of Lynn fans will be put off? Might be a better chance of them winning but not good for their gate :/ Was planning a trip to this one but won't bother now if half the team is missing - had enough of that last year thank you. So am I but geez. . . thats another away meeting (Leicester June7) we'll need a guest, or 2 if KB isn't fit by then . Who the heck could replace him anyway?
-
oh alright then - forgot he hasn't actually got one this year yet :/
-
You're probably right - I'd just prefer to see ex-Stars guesting if possible. Mads would certainly put the effort in, and Troy could potentially score well. Pity that Darcy is injured cos he'd be my first choice!
-
Yep Doyle would be appropriate - he owes us for stuffing Ken in the first place There again if Doyle is available it means Mads is too and I know who'd I'd prefer! Similarly if Kildemand is available so would Bachelor be, and again Troy would be more to my taste.

King's Lynn Stars V Leicester Lions 30/04/14
Star Fever replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well another 3pts for Lynn but a pretty mediocre performance from the Stars' top 5 I thought. Surely they shouldn't get outscored or matched (35-35 even without the double points)? And they had majority of heat winners to boot. Thank goodness for Team Lewis!! Thankfully we started well but went to sleep after heat 5 - yes the track got slicker and slicker but our gating let us down completely. If Leicester had Hougaard instead of Fisher Lynn would've been in deep do-dos! Obviously we weren't helped by Kenneth's two falls - he was noticeably slower after the first one, and of course hopefully he's not too bad after the 2nd - mystery to me why Doyle wasn't excluded for that..... -

Well I was on 2nd bend and I agree with you - Robert did a sublime cutback on this bend and dealt with Worrall coming out of the bend/ along back straight then swooped round Wells on the 3rd/4th bends. Whatever the technicalities though - it was awesome -

Had to smile at this.... [From Wolves report on British Speedway Official Website] "Parrys International Wolves boss Peter Adams said: “Piotr Pawlicki was struck by Kenneth Bjerre, then lost an exhaust in another race...." He obviously failed to notice that it was Pawlicki who locked up in front causing Bjerre to clip him and fall for which PP was rightly excluded?? And Pawlicki's silencer coming adrift is surely the mechanic's fault?? I smell sour grapes..... but I will concede that when Tai sorts himself out Wolves will be an even greater danger. -

Lol?? Why don't you wait till Wolves have visited Poole before commenting? Any team is going to struggle against a side full of fast trappers like Wolves were tonight! -

Awesome match tonight, best of the season so far imo with plenty of passing and close racing. We certainly left it late to get the 3pt win but those last 3 heats were very special indeed, with Niels twice coming from last around the boards and Robert showing class above his age to do the same. Having said that all the top 5 had their moments and of course Kenneth was virtually untouchable. Lynn were very fortunate that he suffered no ills from the alarming fall in his first ride. The reserves too did their job and surely would've scored more but for good choice of guest Worrall. Wolves were certainly sharper from the gate for most of the match but thankfully the track was perfect for Lynn to come from behind. Phew! -

Quite like the prog format tbh, but I agree a white background would be preferable. The scorechart is smaller than it needs to be too, but no room on the racecard?!! You could almost write a novel in all that space lol - or do your friends use crayons?
